      @@RussDouglas222 Since you are monitoring the comments and DNT listens to you, please mention to them that being able to program the device settings, and then uploading to the device using your computer would really put this package over the top. I bought the TNC225R a month ago. Did I ever get a great piece of kit! I got tired of waiting for the "next great thing" and pulled the trigger on the DNT. It is an INVESTMENT not a piece of "gun safe queens." It is currently set up for my CZ American bolt action .17HMR, an AR-15 in 5.56 NATO 20-inch, and an AR in 7.62x39 with 16-inch barrel for the ballistic calculator. It is stable and just plain WORKS. The display doesn't "blink out" or stutter when shooting. The controls are intuitive and you'll get used to them quickly. I like the PIP in the center top and switch back and forth digital, thermal, digital on the fly. There is a new unit coming out, but we won't see it "here in the colonies" for quite a while. This unit must last until I win the damn lottery or something. I couldn't be happier.

      The two higher thermal spec' (335R & 635R) TNCs will be available here in the UK by/at the British Shooting Show, mid-February 2025.
      The higher-yet TNC650R has no release date, and I have no other info as yet regarding base mag' and FOV, but I'm guessing (so don't hold me to this) -it'll have higher base mag' & narrower FOV, for longer-range use.

    Great video... Aspect ratio of day/night isn't 16:9 prob to match the thermal...
    I run mine all night on a 10000 mAH power bank mounted to the small rail on the scope connected with RA curly USB lead.
    I have Thermal on main with Day/Night in PIP top left.
    Using the 940nm VCSEL as it doesn't spook rats at all at short ranges..
    In the hide I stream to a tablet which if you keep it close to the scope has reliable sub 1s lag - gets laggy if further away.
    Been a game changer for me...
    I added a tube sunshield to the Day/Night which makes focusing the thermal more awkward but makes a big difference to daytime image if your looking towards the low sun this time of year...

      @RussDouglas222 power banks were JONKUU brand on Amazon... They fit in the palm of your hand.
      igot some double sided velcro strapping threaded though a small picatinny mount to hold them in place. I bought two but so far one has been plenty for 7 or 8 hours... I know they say to remove the internal battery when using USB power... But one night I forgot and it automatically switched to the internal battery when the power bank (I had forgotten to switch it out) ran out.
      Not suggesting this is the right thing to do - perhaps you could ask your DNT contacts about this ?
      When the battery gets low you get a warning which if you ignore will see the scope switching off if you use the LRF or IR...

      @PeterSmith-n1y 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @RussDouglas222 think the detailed reply may got deleted because of a Rain forest related supplier being mentioned...
      They are JONKUU brand fit the palm of your hand and checking with a charge analyser seem to have decent capacity - some of the larger banks are nowhere near.
      The tinfoil mask method works great for accurately setting scope height which made a difference to The Ballistic Calculator accuracy for me.. elevation wise of an adjustable gun rest it's spot on from 5-50m with .22 Hades in sub 12 ft-lb (11.6 according to my FX V2)

    As a new owner... sure there is a lot to learn to master this Scope and while most of it is quite intuitive... I'd suggest you make a bigger deal of the Day/Night aspect. This is not only a Key Feature, but also a very basic one to help get started .....
    Using the slash instead of a comma, like "Day, Night & thermal" would help as I couldn't figure if Day vs Night were different features or just parts of the same feature. I thought they were separate, but couldn't find clear directions on how to switch from Day to Night or how to turn on the IR feature. Sure, you can say it is in there as it sort of backs into this topic, but not clearly till you know a bit more. Imo it needs a * type Note with directions on how to go from Day to Night and another ** for how to turn on the IR...
    Maybe you would consider expanding and highlighting that section in your video, as well as giving DNT this feedback. I found where others were struggling with this issue as well. Thank you!

    Hi Russ I’m very loyal to the Pard brand and it seams that DNT have left pard in the wake sadly! I still have the 008P but want to get the DNT 3x12 I’ve had a loan of the 5x25 and for a techphobe I couldn’t set it up etc and coming from 4 buttons to 7 buttons is a bit overwhelming I did find the clarity almost perfect on the DNT any news if pard are making anything the rival this amazing digital scopes.

      Hi Denny, ah I still own a DS35-50RF and DS35-70RF, but I haven't used them much since the Zulus came along, they really are game changers.
      I just heard Pard and SGC have parted company, so I believe for any queries you have to deal with Pard in China, until they get another UK distributor.
      Sorry the new Zulus units seem a bit over-facing, but I think you might grow to love the set-up once you get accustomed to it, as there's so much functionality at your fingertips via hotkeys, without having to go fully into the menu...
      One controls standby/wake-up, one controls the IR brightness, and a clear/separate button controls the LRF (once you've set it up).

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Up to you as to whether you want the benefit of having a built-in thermal spotter / scope for all the target acquisition benefits that offers, so definitely worth having a look through one if you fancy the idea. 🤓
      The TNC225R has 90% of the day/night image quality of the ZHD520R, whereas the newer higher spec' TNC335R is a better thermal sensor (384x288 & 35mm thermal lens), and the TNC635R is better again (640x512 & 35mm lens).
      But they'll both cost more than the TNC225R, so for airgun ranges the 225R is all most will need.
      The two higher spec scopes are also lower base mag' and narrower / wider FOV (respectively), so maybe wait for my next video where I compare all three in daylight... or attend the British Shooting Show in Feb and see for yourself? 💁‍♂
