Thanks Russ. The 335 looks a good unit especially for airgun ranges. I wonder how much the picture quality of the Zulus can be developed? It's pretty good anyway, but can it be made really high quality, maybe with bigger lenses. Just a thought.

DNT should consider bringing this larger IR lens to their Zulus monocular. I own both 312 and 520 Zulus without LRF and I feel the IR is still a bit wide, even with the narrowest setting. Larger IR lens should help.
I can't see them offering a different IR, as the beam can both be brightened either by increasing the power, or by rotating the lens to narrow/concentrate the beam. 🤷🏻♂ Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

Very interesting. couple of points. Why would the higher resolution 640 have a lower maximum mag? Seems to be the wrong way around. Now one which no doubt only applies to me, how could I attach a HUD, on my NV007 I use the HDMI port, WiFi, if it works, usually has a lag, so maybe my NV007 on the back, but would there be interfere lines between ned and cam, and would have to put finger on sensor to stop it going to sleep.

I've no idea if the USB-C port on the TNC is compatible with feeding a HUD, but can ask. Can you tell me if the ballistics calculator is caliber specific, ie. will it work with multiple calibers or is it strictly set up for a single caliber such as 5.56, or 308.
Any calibre. You set-up each ballistic profile yourself (with eight specific parameters, some of which you must measure yourself) in the App, then upload to the scope. Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ
The background is fuzzy early on because the thermal wasn't initially focussed, but this was recorded in DAYLIGHT on a daylight/thermal scope. 🤷🏻♂ Thermal is always better in cold conditions, so the live animals stand-out better, whereas this is daylight and conditions were milder, so everything is naturally less distinct. Why didn't they go with lower base mag on thermal and high base mag on day night. Eg 2x on thermal 5x day night. Wouldn't that max the benifit of the combined tech?
They did with the TNC635R, with 1.5x base mag and a wide FOV. The TNC335R has a slightly higher base mag and narrower FOV. We're keen to checkout the one remaining model we know about, the TNC650R is due out sometime in the new year, with the higher res' sensor and higher base mag', for longer range use. Been waiting to see this comparison Russ you and Bruce do hands down the best technical breakdowns and comparison videos 😁👍 Think the 384 30mm would be enough for me just from this video 🤔 however real world situation I'm sure the 640 would be beneficial with the wider fov and contrast, either way glad I held on that much longer. Ideally I'd love to get my hands on a test unit and out on one of my perms! Last night me and my shooting bud had 176 confirmed Roland down on a recycling centre perm, my mate using his Zulus and I was running a base NV90 😂 opposite ends of the spectrum but both doing what they are ment to! I see so many doing such a poor job representing DNT it's not even funny, one chap using an awful colour pallet and not even focusing either optical channel and IR up on max whiting out the image making very bad shoots indeed and that's one of many 🤦♂️ thankfully you and lancs vermin are showing them in a better light 👌 Cheers Russ look forward to the next one bud 👍

Both scopes have sensors with the same size pixels and the same focal length, meaning that they've both got the same detection range and level of detail in their in the image However However, the 635 displays that level of detail over a significantly wider field of view If it can be afforded. the 650 will be the one to have because it will be right in longer range foxing territory
