The winners have a 5.2 DUPR rating and the opponents have a 4.8 and 5.1 DUPR. So sad they were playing in a 3.5 bracket. What a scam. I feel so bad for players in this bracket that were actually playing in their proper 3.5 skill level and lost to these ridiculous sandbaggers.
That is exactly why I would never pay the high prices to be in a tournament like this. I’m not about to get destroyed by people playing way below their skill level.
This is not 3.5 players. Either the rating system is inadequate or we have sandbaggers. This needs to be fixed and the sooner the better. Also need to have better line calling in tournaments.
There were complaints all over about the ranking groups since Nationals was strictly using UTPR, which is only updated if you play in particular tournaments. They would not let people play in higher divisions based on their DUPR even if requested, so it is not the fault of the players sandbagging here, it is the tournament.
I don't understand how you could feel good about winning at this level when clearly the skill level is much higher than 3.5. Where is the honor in that. By the way, I love your videos. I always look for them.
Man what a case of extreme sandbagging mother son team had 5.05 and 5.66 DUPRs lol SUre theyll say they had to play that low but probably qualified at 3.5 to get in
As others have mentioned, this tournament used UTPR ratings which are not accurate/up to date. Pretty sure they were not allowed to play up even if they wanted to.
I definitely don’t want to play in tournaments if this is supposed to be 3.5! Pickleball needs to get the ratings system fixed. I’ve played USTA tennis for 20+ years & been to Nationals & the ratings are much closer to actual ability.
That's because the lowest DUPR in this game is a 4.88 the other 3 players are above 5.0. I think this tournament went by UTPR which maybe lower but yes this is a big problem at these lower brackets. I consider myself a decent 4.0 range player and these guys would kick my butt.
The moment I saw the successful ATP and counter @1:20 I immediately realized these can’t be 3.5. Unfortunately sandbaggers are just a fact of life if you were into playing tournaments.

That was my first thought after five minutes of watching this match...How are these guys 3.5?
Sandbaggers

Please state their names and shame these sandbaggers!
@@lazyhusband Not their fault imo. The tournament forced them to use UTPR ratings which are inaccurate. They couldn't play up even if they wanted to.
I agree with a lot of these comments. These are the best 3.5 players I have ever seen on TH-cam.
That's because they are like 5.0 players but the tourmanet forced them to use UTPR ratings which are inaccurate.

I heard Ben Johns was in the 4.0 bracket

Dang, those are some of the best 3.5 players I've seen, I would guess in most places they are strong 4.0-4.5.
Be happy that there is one 4.0 girl here. Others are close to 5.0 and above.
They are actually 4.5 players but Nationals used UTPR ratings which are not accurate.
from Utah mom was a 5.05 and kid was a 5.66 lolol

best 3.5's on the fuggin planet
Sandbaggers. No way 3.5.
After watching this video, I guess I'm a .75 player. Thought I was closer to 3.5. Lol.
I just signed up into my first tournament. I think I made a mistake guessing I’m a 3.5 lol
pretty good play for 3.5.
Im a newbie* so at a around 15:20 ... wy was the females shot not considered good?
Was the ATP attempt at 15:20 a foot fault and/or did she hit the post?
Looks like a foot fault
I believe she hit the post.
No fkin way this is 3.5. Wtf?!
Bat mitten and tennis made out Great 😂
No way, 3.5!!!?? BS!.. these players play at 'pro level' or minimum 4.5.
They’re too good for 3.5.

This is some major sandbagging s*** going on here.
Seriously, some people need therapy
It's clear by the first point
Sour grapes...
I hope that’s not true.
Meh, 3.0 at best.
Moms is a smokeshow
This players are Not 3.5 I will say 4.5 to 5.0 any day, the system is all mixed up, ratings is a horse crap, with all my respect to Pickleball🤭
That's why I quit playing tennis, no fun getting hammered by sandbaggers
That's because they are 4.5 to 5.0 but Nationals used UTPR ratings which are not accurate.
The guy with backwards hat should just play singles. Stands in the middle of the court way too much and gets burned down the line.

several ATP's this can't be 3.5- good match up
It's not the rating system, it's the weak ass minds of the players. At least play with your off hand.
This is disgusting
The moment I saw the successful ATP and counter @1:20 I immediately realized these can’t be 3.5. Unfortunately sandbaggers are just a fact of life if you were into playing tournaments.
This is a prime example of why the ranking system is a joke
SANDBAGGERS!!!! This is the reason people hate tourneys
Lol can't believe we have 3.5s hitting ATPs so casually at 1:20
Mr. Black shirt should let his partner play...
NO way 3.5...so sad!!!
Serious this is 3.5? WOW.
3.5 my butt...
Most people sandbag in tournaments and compete in events at least 0.5 lower than what their rated level actually is.
Comments made me feel so much better, no way a 3.5 would have be that consistent with dinking and the follow through too?!!!
This ain't no 3.5
LOL the Boydstons give no fucks
