Good match, all 4 players between 3.5 and 4.0 "national" level, not local level which is always, always inflated. A lot of wild shots on both sides or they'd be solid 4.0's

If these kids aren3.5 there’s a lot of people in the 3.5 and 4.0 that should be 2.5

This rule should be changed. Doesn't seem fair. What if the ball spun backwards and goes over the net (due to spin and wind) and your opponent never touches the ball That is a point for the team that struck the ball. Why is that a point?????? The player didn't mean to make it spin back over the net, also the player didn't mean for it bounce and hit the bar. That's just considered a good shot. I would consider it a great shot if it bounced first, then hit the bar. They really need to review this rule.

4.0 seems right. They are pretty consistent. I play lots of people in their 70's that are 3.5 and 4.0. I still like tennis more but can't play it in the winter here in northern MN.

What woman would swear, hit their opponent in the face and slam the ball back to their opponents after a miss? 🤷‍♀️

Love pickleball any player beginner to pro can play together I learned this in 1978 when I paired with a father son tourney we won the tourney and was the greatest thrill for that little boy

I just watched your 3.5 55+ mixed video, and there were comments that they thought that the winning team was a 4.0. If these are 4.0, the best team at the 3.5 was 3.5. Many shots here that the better team (won 1 and 3) would have lost by the same score. Fun to watch.

I’m struggling to understand the ratings for pickelball as they are affected by age. My time watching bronze and gold matches for 55+, 65+ 75+ in ‘advanced’ ratings 3.5 and above appears to be unable to compete with the 3.5 groups I know. Can anyone steer my thinking on the age effect of ratings for pickelball?

Giving a 'putaway ball' at this level is making your opponents look good. It's not that they are any better. It's your 'no pressure returns'.

So, if the losing couple is that bad, how bad were the people that they beat to get to the finals? I think the people I play with are better than their ratings.

It is so important that both players are at the same skill level. If not, you see how they target the weaker player and the guy on the losing team didn’t get to hit many balls. The ones they did hit at him were slams because his partner popped the ball up.

Truly inspiring I will watch this often!

This is not 4.0 play. And don’t say “well they’re over 70.” There is no such thing as a senior 4.0 and a regular 4.0. 4.0 is 4.0, period.

When you stated 'just wide' it wasn't wide, it was IN! Exactly the kind of game I hate, when one person is attacked with the ball, rather than a balance between the two. Her partner needs to poach, to help her out, making it difficult for the opposite team! The near team needs a much harder shot, as those given where far too easy to get!
