I have a redragon and the profile seems smaller than this. And regarding the battery life, I think when you are aiming to max the battery life, you simply have to say it as it is. The maximum time will always be while requiring less power. It is not a question of wanting or liking RGB on or off all the time. You have to meet some criteria to get the maximum battery, if it is 100 hours without backlight, you say "100 hours of battery life, without backlight".
You're right; the profile of the Keychron K3 Pro is smaller than the Redragon keyboard. The Keychron K3 Pro is a 75% keyboard, which means it has a smaller footprint than a full-size keyboard. The Redragon keyboard is a full-size keyboard, so it will naturally be larger. I agree with you that I should have been more clear about the battery life of the Keychron K3 Pro. The maximum battery life is 100 hours, but only if you use the keyboard with the backlight turned off. If you use the backlight, the battery life will be significantly shorter. Thanks again for your feedback. I'll try to do a better job of clarifying things in the future
@@wlsntech I said the profile of the redragon seems smaller, the k622 to be more specific. And I think you were clear, I just think that one has to be aware that companies have to be concrete about the product specs.
Hello, is there a delay in the Bluetooth connection compared to the 2.4ghz connection? And the keyboard that was previously connected to the computer automatically connects and works when the computer is turned on for the first time?
I haven't experienced any delays or connection issues with this keyboard or any others. I use this for both my home and work computers without any issue.\
The blue switches are superb, albeit noisy. I had them throw in a few extra red and brown switches to try out, and they’re just not quite as satisfying to use.
Originally, I love the brown switches, but since going to blue, the Browns almost, don’t sound or feel the same. I can’t type during meetings anymore with the blue switches without everyone noticing. But it’s a small sacrifice
@@wlsntech how is the red switches, I tried tactile brown on logi mx mini mechanical and it felt good. currently I am using MacBook Pro. what would you suggest.
I can’t suggest anything yet, because I have the red switches on the way and I should make a video about it within the next week. But if you like the Browns, I think they are they they are the best of both worlds.
Great review. I'm disappointed that the pro version took a step back from the v2 with the keycaps. If the backlight can't shine through, what's the point of the backlight other than added expense. Sounds like you can fix it by buying even more keycaps, but again ... more expense. Oi. Annoying.
They give you the option to buy ABS shine through keycaps…. I wanted to switch to the pro for the PBT keycaps and metal frame, but not having shine through is the ultimate dealbreaker for me. Keyboards need to be functional first, then comes the rest.
Sadly, I haven’t been able to try the air75. it has been on my radar. But from the specs, the K3 pro has a slightly better build quality, from the housing to the key caps. And the QMK program is phenomenal. On the other hand the air75 has access to a lot of keycap and switch customization. It’s beautiful.
I'm not sure what causes your finger aches. Its ergonomic by being adjustable but if you don't get fingeraches from laptop keyboards, you might want a lower-profile keyboard. It
No, but I use low-profile keyboards, which hasn’t been an issue. Neutral or straighter, arm, wrist, and hand position And I make sure to get keyboards like this, which can be adjusted to lay flat so I have a more neutral or straighter, arm, wrist, and hand position
@accentontheoff no I never have. I thought about it, but I haven’t experienced any pain or discomfort. Maybe it’s because I always use the standing desk so I am able to adjust my height to be more ergonomic
Hi, I got a question. I currently use MX Mechanical but looking on Keychron's options. I saw couple times in your video that you also have MX Mehcanical but I do not see on your channel any video where you compare them. Do you plan to do this kind of comparison? or maybe if it is not video Worthy how would you compare these 2 keyboards ... I have read somewhere that Keychron options have better overall feel than Logi's options an I'm looking on 75% option because well since we are returning to the office I don't want to carry cumbersome full size keyboard which barely fits to my Smaller Backpack :D ... and let's be honest Logi's options are overpriced in comparison with other brands :D
That’s interesting because I actually didn’t think of them for comparison because I think they’re so different. I still like my MX keys and MX mechanical. In comparison, I would say judging from what you’re looking for the Keychron is a better option with all of the customization you can make from the keycaps, switches, QMK/VIA, etc. I love my logitech for its compatibility with so many different devices and easy user interface. But the K3 Pro sounds like it will do everything you need it to. If you are not in a hurry, I’ve pre-Ordered the Nuphy Air V2 75% keyboard that should be out in a few weeks. It’s a direct competitor to the K3 Pro, I can review it, compare it with the K3, and even do a three-way competition between the three. Also you can let me know how you use your keyboards and I can make sure to fold them into my tests.
@@wlsntech Funny that you mentioned Nuphy Air75 v2 ... because just after your vid I got to recommendations the Nuphy from some YTbers who got an Early Sample from Nuphy aaaand I kinda dropped into it so yeah I also pre-ordered the Air75 v2 I looked on comparisons with all 3 boards, MX Mech, Keychron K3 Pro and Air75 (original) and Air 75 with both looks and also some features like included 2.4g dongle is absolute seller for me ... Hey Wilson, excellent review! Quick query that I'm pretty sure can be done: F1 to 12 keys can be configured to be F1-12 as primary function (not pressing Fn key) and make all other functions (volume control, music play, etc) as secondary (pressing Fn key), correct?
Yes, that is correct. The F1 to F12 keys on the Keychron K3 Pro can be configured to be the primary function (not pressing the Fn key) and all other functions (volume control, music play, etc) can be configured to be the secondary function (pressing the Fn key). You can do this using the VIA software.
ABS keycaps are great for RGB, but you will get ABS shine on the keycaps within a few months if you're a heavy typist. It annoys me to no end when I see the ABS shine on my keycaps for some irrational reason.
Its beyond me why Keychron is keeping its Kx Pro lineup keycaps opaque. It's pretty stupid to have a backlit keyboard which doesn't show the key letters in dark
I wouldn't be surprised if they have some sort of user feedback saying they like Doubleshot PBT vs ABS Shinethrough. I think the shinethrough is a must for RGB keyboards, but the opaque PBT do seem to feel nicer to the tough and have more vibrant colors. They should allow you to pick between one and if you want by the other one later.
You asked why would anyone use this keyboard without the LED backlight. If you're in an office setting with lights on 24/7, you don't need LED backlight turned on to see your keyboard keys ;)
