- In this video I’ll be measuring and inspecting some key engine components in preparation for the complete rebuild and restoration of my 2001 Suzuki DR650 SE motorbike engine.
This is Episode 2 of a five part series. I published Episode 1 (Disassembly) last week. Episode 3 (Engine Case Cleaning & Preparation), Episode 4 (Engine Parts Cleaning & Preparation) and Episode 5 (Assembly) will be uploaded soon after.
Thanks for watching!
Let me know what engine I should rebuild next, first gen sv650s engine or a third gen r6 engine?

Very impressed with your work, very clean and precise.
Thanks for the comment!
Super impressive!
Thanks!
Your video exceeded my expectations, I had read the manual and seen only through the manual all the measurements you made,
Thanks for the video it was very educational, I subscribed to your channel
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
thanks for making this. Nice work.
Thanks for watching.
exelente video
Thanks for watching!
I did one of those. Two tipps, threadlocker in the neutral sending unit screws and make shure to use the 11241-04F20-000 cylinder gasket
I’ll be loctiting the screws and some safety wire. A Little overkill but i won’t have a screw Come loose and jam my nova transmission.
@@docteurmoteur better safe than sorry. I made the mistake of using a rebuild kit cylinder gasket and it was the old one. It blew up three monts later and had to remove the top end again. Make shure it is the metal one
Super fantastic job. Everything is shown in detail. Maybe another engine from the Suzuki DR-z 400? Regards
Thanks for watching. If I can get my hands on a Drz engine I’ll make a rebuild series.
@@docteurmoteur Super. 👍😁
Music to my eyes. Speaking of music what is the ambient piano we hear ? Also, how much mileage did that engine have? I have a 2021 with 20000km on it so I wonder. Very well done.
Glad you enjoyed it. You’re OK for at least another 50k kms. I don’t see why it wouldn’t pass the 100k kms if routine maintenance isn’t neglected. Music is My Coffee Shop (part 3) Denis Pavlov.
