Core band: David Byrne-singer/front man, Tina Weymouth-base, Chris Frantz-drums, and Jerry Harrison-keys, guitar. On the tour in the movie, they had a second guitarist-Alex Weir, percussionist-Steve Scales, an additional keyboardist-Bernie Worrell, and backup singers Lynn Mabry and Ednah Holt. Simply the best concert film I have ever seen. I strongly recommend it.
A rough translation of the verse that's in French:
    It's what I did tonight.
    It's what she said tonight.
    Realizing my dream,
    I hurl myself at glory.
I know you didn't ask for a translation but thought it might be helpful. Good show, guys. Check out that film! You won't regret it.

T-Heads were an amazing and Innovative band to come out of the late 70s on the East Coast scene, I think this is by like 1981 or 82, and it's the opening of this huge concert series and also a movie that was just made of the live concert footage call Stop Making Sense which was also the title of an album.
He starts it off but you should see what they assemble by the time this thing really gets rolling. It's one of the greatest concert movies ever. And the Talking Heads influenced so much music going forwar; it's amazing.

Arguably, one of the greatest concerts film of all time. You could do a whole reaction from this film. As the show goes on , various members join David Byrne on stage. I got to see the band perform live by chance. A group of my friends and I drove to the campus of SUNY (State University of New York) old Westbury on Long Island in N.Y. We heard that they had had live music in the bar on campus. When we arrived, we saw a banner on the back wall of the stage that read”The Bonnie Parker Band”. When the band took the stage they had a female bassist whom we all assumed was Bonnie Parker, since that was the name on the wall. We really enjoyed the show, and how can you beat an entrance fee of $5.00 apiece. It wasn’t until the next day at school that I saw an article in the local newspaper that The Talking Heads had performed a previously unannounced show the previous evening on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury. We were very lucky as shortly thereafter The Talking Heads achieved recognition internationally. I felt very fortunate to have seen them and for a reasonable ticket fee of $5.00. They were a very talented band and put on a great show.

As others said, this is one of the greatest concert films ever. First time I watched was also my first time tripping on acid.

You *gotta* *gotta* *gotta* watch the whole show because it is absolutely god tier! I was there in the mosh pit in the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, December 3, 1983, and it was genuinely one the most transcendent live musical experiences I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. No word of a lie.

Byrne is a musical genius and Stop Making Sense is by far one the the most entertaining live performance films ever made. Directed by Jonathan Demme.
