I followed the tutorial on setting up the maniquen rag doll. It some how to the hip and the right clavicle always come out a black color and it doesnt simulate at all.
Interesting, thanks for reporting this. Would it be possible to post this along with a screenshot on our support forum? forums.ragdolldynamics.com/ From there we can help you out further.
10:42 Is the process identical to every character? I followed this tutorial with a animation mentor rig. The solver rig dissapears when i change the behaviour to simulated. 😢
Solved on Discord. For completeness, this was due to a duplicate hip shape inside of another shape, causing self-collisions on all limbs at once. The body probably flew off into infinity on 1 frame. I've watched the video 4 times, followed step by step and I simply can't get this to work. I have a skinned character driven by a separate "mocap skeleton" character that has rigid bound geo. When I try to apply the ragdoll to the skinned character the performance is horrifically slow and totally unusable. So I tried applying ragdoll to the rigid character that drives the skinned puppet and performance wise it works much better. However, when I set up the chain starting from the root, spine, neck and head, the ragdoll puppet doesn't keep its shape and just flops over by default. If I try adding keys everything breaks apart. I'd love to use this but it's too finnicky and just not working with my rig unfortunately. Any suggestions?
Hi @3DaveP, thanks a lot for sharing this, I'd love to get to the bottom of what you are seeing. Would it be possible to share screenshots and/or more about your circumstances and process on the forums? That way we can have a conversation and I can try and produce samples and give tips for how to proceed. forums.ragdolldynamics.com/ For completeness, did you try this workflow on the Manikin asset itself? Just so we're starting from the same page, you can find it here: learn.ragdolldynamics.com/tutorials/manikin/
Very nice! Waiting for another 101 video. Maybe even a series. For sure I’ll give it a go once I have time.
Very good tutorial; simple and to the point. Increasing Maya's font size was great touch.

Thank you for the kind words, happy to hear you like it!
Already owning the subscription. It is exactly what I needed today :)
By the way - which key do you use for swift moving timeline back forward by one frame? Default maya ALT+. and AlT+, is a problem.
@@norman191000 Sorry for the late reply, somehow I missed this. I (Marcus) use Alt + . and , along with holding K to scrub.
Awesome tutorial quick question is this Maya or Motion Builder
This right here is Autodesk Maya, running our plug-in Ragdoll Dynamics for all things dynamic. ragdolldynamics.com/

@@MarcusOttosson OK I'll try on the manikin asset 1st - I initially tried on my own rig. Will keep you posted. Thanks for getting back to me
@@MarcusOttosson Ok I posted in the forum - it's mostly working now but still some weirdness going on
