Great! What about 3ds max? We need this
We shall see!
This plugin can have more feature like cascadeur.
Thanks for the suggestion! Which feature specifically would you like to see in Ragdoll?
What if your mesh does not have individual meshes for the body parts? 7:50 (My body is all 1 mesh except for gloves and boots)

This scene is so dumb....but insanely well animated..... truly shows off a lot of the capabilities of Ragdoll in a practical shot
way too fast. I can't understand what you are doing. Please re-release this video with real-time speed.
bro is a chad in real life
Very nice. Is exactly what I have been looking for. But the price. Will take me about seven months or more to pay for it. Been trying hard to find out how to do something like this in Blender 4.2, with the tools it has, natively. I can't quite figure out how best to use the animated tab under settings in Riged Body. I can move an object. But don't know how to control it, with physics intact. As in, make a lite dynamic object move to another dynamic object, without pushing it as though it has no weight. And then move it again without it changing its position to its native non dynamic position once I turn the animated tab back on. Is frustrating. I feel I am close to figuring it out. But there is just not enough info about it, to learn from on how to use the animated tab properly. Then when I came across this today, I was excited. It seems it can do everything I want it to do. Excitement gone, once I found out how long it will take to get it. Oh, but I intend to. Someday. Till then, I will have to find some other solution, for what I am trying to make now.
This is what I have been looking for.
Awesome tutorials! love your tool if I may ask how can you re target an animation in a different rig for example a cat walk and then apply that to another model, is that possible? trough the mesh would be awesome if possible, keep up the good work :D
Yes, retargeting is independent of character. It's akin to Parent Constraining one control to another, this is what Ragdoll does during recording. If target controls are on a different character, it'll constrain those controls.
@@RagdollDynamics Awesome thanks!! :D will give it a shoot animate then record then set it to another characters
When I change the root bone behaviour to simulated . Nothing happens :(

Hi there! I have a suggestion. Perhaps you could make a proper user case tutorial on how this plugin can be used in the production. Usually you show bits and pieces and/or stop where the ragdoll falls onto the ground. Maybe you can actually animate something like an action scene or use mocap animation and add ragdoll dynamics to it etc. At the moment they fall a bit short in my opinion.
Hey @stout8529, sure can, thanks for the suggestion. Production is broad, anything in particular you'd like to see tackled?
The superhero death is quite convincing.
"Great tool, very useful. On a different note, could you please explain how you're moving the timeline without clicking and dragging with the left mouse button?"
Try holding K and drag with the mouse in the viewport.
Finally! 🎉

Where is the part 1?
The plug in is the exact same for Maya and Blender, correct? I can expect all the same functions and quality of simulation? I ask because I haven't seen many examples made using Blender so I am a little confused.
As identical as it gets, except Blender currently (1) has no Locomotion features nor (2) Import Physics features.
@@RagdollDynamics Oh, I was looking forward to the locomotion features. Any plans to add them to Blender?

could we get a blender tuto with an animal
Have a look at the Maya tutorials for this, it's mostly applicable to Blender too: th-cam.com/video/Si_l8B82c9w/w-d-xo.html
I didn't understand almost anything in the video at minute 9, it gets complicated
I really like this ragdoll, but for the keymap, I do not see in document how can sellect all in ragdoll mode 06:22, how to assign ragdoll bone with keymap etc
Good question, at the moment if you enter the Search Menu and type "assign" you'll find the command for it. But I'm not sure how you can bind this to a hotkey, we are quite new to Blender. If you have any ideas, I'd be happy to add it to our documentation!
we need more tutorials for blender ragdoll to explore the full potential of this awesome tool.
It would be amazing if there was a slider option to constrain the main rig to the ragdoll instead of using the record function.
That's possible, and was actually how the first version of Ragdoll worked. However, it would mean the simulation could no longer follow your animation, since that would be a cycle (simulation affects animation, animation affects simulation). Your only tools for controlling the simulation then would be (1) the initial settings and (2) external constraints, like Pin Constraints. Would that still work for you?
@@MarcusOttosson Good point, I'll have to try pin constraints to see how they work. Maybe with a separate deform rig that could switch between the simulation and the animated armature it could work.
Can this be used on top of an autorig pro rig? to add to subtle simulation to a keyframe animation?
Sure can, it can be added to any object and pose bone in Blender.
Can I assign them to deform bones so that both FK and IK affect them? Do you recommend this method?
Yes, that would be the safest method of having Ragdoll follow your animation. Once added, you would then retarget the simulation to whatever animation controls you wish to record keyframes onto.
@@RagdollDynamics Should I retarget simulation to IK or FK? Or does it depend on some situations?
@@fantastical_dream Depends on where you want the keyframes, on the IK or FK controls
CAN YOU MAKE Auto Rig Pro ONLY FK this is confusing 🙄
Confusion all around, are you asking whether you can make arms and legs driven by FK with a rig made using Auto Rig Pro? Or whether you can assign to FK controls with Ragdoll, instead of IK? I think the answer is "yes" to both, but please do clarify.
@@RagdollDynamics HOW DO YOU SCALE AND MOVE THING INSIDE. SHORTCUTS ??!!
@@najibnajib7412 It's unclear whether you mean inside of Blender or capsules and boxes inside of Ragdoll's manipulator, but if it's the latter than see here: learn.ragdolldynamics.com/blender/reference/

ok because maybe this add one, is truly the last hope to get serious ragdoll physics inside blender charakter i will delete all my negative coments in few hours, i really want to support you and i still have the hope that you will make lower the price , 70 € for Hobbyest would be fair, cmon show some heart, blender community is not comparable with maya people. We are broke, the reason why we use blender is because we are broke !!!!!!!!
We're a small team, we're the ones how cannot afford to support users with less than a $199 budget. 😭
@@RagdollDynamicsyou could create a light version for hobbiests, next to the studio version. Ok i pay the 200 € but you must promise that the blender version will get the same features like the maya version.
@@denizcarta6805 The same features is the goal, every integration will fundamentally be running the same software under the hood, with DCC specific menus and object management.

Hm, would it be possible to post what you see on our support forums so we can take a look? forums.ragdolldynamics.com/
@@RagdollDynamics Of course!

We'd love to, what topic or task would you like to see a tutorial on?
@@RagdollDynamics Your plugin is excellent. I would like to see a tutorial on how an opponent with animation moves and then gets shot and falls realistically (some custom animated monster in my case), or how does he get up with animation after ragdoll falling, it would help me a lot!
@@Cutesho For your first request, see this Maya tutorial, the same technique applies to Blender as well: learn.ragdolldynamics.com/tutorials/mocap_chap/ For the second, see this mini-tutorial here, also applicable to Blender, with "kinematic" having been renamed "animated" and "dynamic" now called "simulated": forums.ragdolldynamics.com/t/a-fluid-blend-from-kinematic-into-ragdoll/818 Generally, all tutorials for Maya applies to Blender as well, let me know if this helps!

well i installed the add on and i can see the Ragdoll Option but when i click on it, it want me to download the Ragdoll Core, is that a Joke? To the Creator: Google User Friendliness.
ok i got it, i have to install the engine. Ok next shocker , i cant click anything in the Menu, i was hoping i could click on the Bones of my Charakter and with one click the character get Ragdoll Physics, now this i would call a Ragdoll Add On
ok playing with the Assets is a lot fun i have no idea what iam doing but i can see clearly the potential, pls make it more easier to use
@@denizcarta9915 We're trying, if you think of ways in which to make it easier please do let us know. The install experience is an unfortunate consequence of Blender's licencing model, and indeed sucks.

hey! I've been checking your addon out from videos and stuff but wanted to ask if this can be used to simulate clothes using bones (like in unreal engine or unity) and other things or is it only for body dynamics ? do you have some documentation for this.
