Korea truly is one of the worst place to be a victim, they have the technology and advancement to be a great place but every single time you talk of a case happening there the victims are blamed, not taken seriously or just dismissed while perpetrator got it very easy, what's the point of a justice system if there's no justice ?

Very good points. Difficult to be a woman or a member of any minority, too. But when the system is designed to ensure "justice" for those with power, and the powerful are the people who create and uphold the system, it's almost invincible. Social media may be the one hope, because those who do not have power individually have the strength of numbers. Social media gives the powerless majority a voice they never had before. It's crowdsourced power.
Younger generations tend to reject unjust systems that previous generations just accepted. I believe there's hope they can really use that voice to force systemic change.
This is virtually the first time in history that revolutions are possible without war 🤞🏻 we used to have to rise up and kill people to be heard, so at least social media has the potential to be as good as it is bad 😂

When you’re born in, you’re not brainwashed to believe or think differently, bc there’s no point of origin or foundation ideologies to go back to. The beliefs of the cult are everything you were taught and conditioned to believe your entire existence. It encompasses everything. It’s so hard to explain to people that I don’t even try anymore. Yes Israel is bombing the terrorists and in return innocent lives are being lost but Israel aren’t the ones to blame for what’s happening. I’d say the blame falls on the Lebanese terrorists I mean your government.

Because the problems in our country in our backyard are huge and if you can't first solve those problems in your own town state or country then you shouldn't assume you know the best way to solve a complicated geopolitical problem.
Yeah everyone instead of reading BS online google what they used those pagers for. For planning terrorist attacks. If you're antisemitic just say it. Having lived in Israel I can tell you they are the most peaceful people and many women from surrounding Muslim countries and their kids flea there and have a charity where Israel gives them housing food and education. Where they are from they are not allowed to to have education prior. The amount of money Palestine has received they could easily used it to create a stable economy but instead have used it for terrorist attacks. One of which I was there in Israel for. There are DOZENS of Muslim countries and ONE SINGLE JEWISH country. If we want to talk about settlers stealing countries then you're under the same idea that we should Leave the USA and give it back to native Americans. So where do the Americans go? Before you believe everything you read go there. Travel there. I assure you the western wall is Muslims Catholics Christian's Jewish people all side by side in peace. In fact Israel allows neighborhoods of extremist Muslims in hopes they won't attack the country by way of trust and every time these people plot attacks. Did everyone forget that this started when INNOCENT people at a rave from other countries were kidnapped SA'ed and then paraded around by Hamas no longer alive and nude.
Please if you can't get an unbiased history go to the countries you claim to support. They are full of hate. Then go to Israel. And it's the opposite. Just peaceful people. Sorry but my family escaped the Holocaust and persecution for thousands of years they deserve ONE TINY country smaller than most US states while Muslim countries have huge countries flush with oil. While Israel has built that country from nothing making some of the most forward thinking science medicine environmental protection laws and yes military because they are constantly attacks.
But before you throw stones if you're from the USA THINK about it. Israel has offered peaceful solutions time and time again. They are under terroristjc attacks daily. Just to live and exist. Why can't any of these countries do the work that the people of Israel have done and take the money they are given for building their economies and societies.
Because they don't care about the citizens of those countries. The terrorist groups will continue to grow. So if there is another 911 then you'll know why.
Because the problems in our country in our backyard are huge and if you can't first solve those problems in your own town state or country then you shouldn't assume you know the best way to solve a complicated geopolitical problem.

It's easy to judge someone deeply indoctrinated into a very abusive cult. I'm sure this is an opinion that can be argued, but personally, I think every parent who has subjected their children to this cult should feel at least some kind of guilt, some remorse. They were of sound mind, I hope, before joining the cult, did they not consider how their decisions might impact their children? The decision that these parents made to join the cult is a senseless one, one devoid of thought and care for their children. In this case, I think those who suffered most tragically were the children, their subjection to the cult was never in any way within their control, these children had their futures, their dignity, and their humanity completely desecrated all because of the decisions of their parents.

cults bring people in slow and usually go for very vulnerable ones, even if the adults are sound minded, they were probably at a low in life and trying to find support from anywhere. That's where these people come in and take advantage by showing them hope and comfort. The parents trully believe that what they are doing is good for their kid and for the family's future

    • @kalpajha3002
      @kalpajha3002 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I totally agree with you. Some parents who were fully involved, following a cult probably were so skin deep into it that they were not aware what their children were being subjected to or had been violated. If some parents were made aware of it, they could not or would not do anything about it to protect their children either out of fear, punishment or shunned and ostracised. It's really so sad.

    • @painttedHyena1974
      @painttedHyena1974 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

I would agree, but only if the situation was that they knew how horrible it all was. If they heard rumours and still joined.
Apologies for being a little mean here, but it's a bit cruel (and ignorant) to consider that they didn't think about how it might impact their children. It wasn't a senseless decision, you can only say that because you know the cruelties cults cause, which is s thing they only realise in hindsight.
They were thinking of their family when joining, because all they thought it was, is a new way to have faith and/or find community and help during a hard time (because most cults go for vulnerable people, the poor, the homeless, the mentally ill, etc...).
When these parents feel remorse, a lot of the time, it is of things they couldn't have known. These cults look and act normal, seem good and kind, a perfect thing to make community in, but they aren't. These people didn't join these cults knowingly and senselessly, they were tricked, manipulated and abused.

Use this comment to discuss the case in the replies:
(Almost none of the comments are talking about the actual case, and it’s disheartening to see some not even acknowledge the horrible crimes mentioned in the video. )
Here’s some of my personal thoughts on the case.
Cult related things are very messy and horrible. I do not dive very deep into the world of true crime beyond listening to this podcast. I started listening because I wanted to inform myself on different cases. I like to stay informed about what’s going on in the world around me, and listening to true crime can also inform me on victims that I would probably never hear about otherwise.
I think that paying respect to the victims of a crime should be one of the top things when creating or interacting with the true crime genre. I understand people having to somewhat distance themselves from the crime so it doesn’t get too heavy. I understand that, I often have to separate the cases from myself so it doesn’t effect my mental health but I don’t think people realize how deaf tone they sound when discussing how
‘the video is just in time for…’or ‘glad this was posted I was getting bored’. Leaving these types of comments under these types of videos is really odd.
I’m sure people don’t have bad intentions but discussing how you view the video where the topic is a horrible and often very violent crime where real people were often killed, mutilated or greatly injured, and/or tramatized as something like entertainment does not sit right with me. I only saw one other comment talking about this, and the replies.
I left a reply there but I wanted to leave a main comment so more people would see it.
This case is absolutely horrible and I knew it was going to be an especially gruesome case when I saw the tittle and thumbnail. Thinking about just the sheer amount of people that had to endure being in the cult and often not being able to get a job afterwords makes me feel sick.
The crimes committed by that women were evil on another level that I can’t even imagine and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this case.
Those are my thoughts on this case. I am not saying they are the correct thoughts, or what you should think, only what I took from it.
Please feel free to use the replies as a space to actually discuss the case and not whatever is happening in the comments today.
Edit: There are a lot more comments talking about the case now, but for people just watching the video when I commented this there was only one other comment I could find talking about the case.

If you read up on Brother’s Home, that will give you an idea of what happened. Brother’s Home is just one of many institutions that were incentivized by the government to “clean up the streets” in the 80’s and adopt out homeless kids (they were paid per kid). So some of these institutions would kidnap random kids and adopt them out internationally. Post 80’s I don’t believe these institutions continued, but I would t be surprised if some other shady individuals took note of their methods and continued them sans government funding.

How do you one day suddenly decide to start a cult, create a lore behind it and make some organisation. While losing your humanity. What kind of delulu world do you live in to come up with that?
Also, I get indocrination since childhood. But to be an adult to sell all your assets just to be a slave in a cult??
Not only that, apparently the kids that were botn in it has more sense and know how messed up it is. Compare to an adults that joined when they were supposed to be mentally capable to see whats wrong and right.
    What the actual shit???

5 reasons as to why I think cults are able to trick people:
      1. Cult leaders are charismatic, and humans fall for the halo effect.
      2. The adults were lost/desperate in their life and needed the answers.
      3. Humans are a social species we evolved to be in small tight nit groups or communities. Our brains have not changed in the past 200,000 years. Our technology has but not our brains. The idea of abandoning modern society to return to an agrarian society or a society where you help your community grow through hard work is attractive.
      4. Cult leaders overwork their cult, preventing them from getting good sleep. Sleep is important because a lack of sleep affects your performance and decision-making ability.
      5. Lastly, cult leaders always focus on separating you from friends and family by convincing you that they are a distraction. Friends and family can slap some sense into you and keep you from making dumb decisions.

I was just about to say this when I saw the thumbnail. But she said Netflix docu, and that's when it clicked! I watched this on Netflix together with other cults in SK, one which is infamous JMS cult.

7:51 as a 08 baby, honestly its so scary how the rat zodiac sign is far more accurate towards me as a person, than the aries one. Learning new cultures truly is pleasantly surprising
