I think the fact this movie leans so heavily on my favorite aspect of batman year one, being the narration and the journals is just amazing this movie borrows aspects from every single batman origin story, earth one heavily, year one, long Halloween, and zero year being the ending with riddler flooding the city. Truly feels like a film created by batman fans.

In the beginning of the movie, the stranger saw Batman and said not to hurt him. In the ending, the little girl grabbed his hand, asking his presence and security, to not let her go.
That was some character development!

The fact Matt Reeves not just bring back the batman to his darker and grittier style, but also reviving back the old music that was sang by late beloved kurt cobain, Impressive.
I think they used this song because Kurt had always been a huge Batman fan throughout his life

Peak Batman. It’s like they just told me who batman was to some random guy...so iconic and accurate while holding a relatable and nice message for everyone. Oh my god Matt Reeves and co. You did it, you made...The Batman
Everytime I hear this, I can visualize the whole scene. The Batman caring a scared girl while his cape moves in the wind, carefully resting her down on the stretcher. Holding her hand as she's lifted off the ground until the last second to give her hope, to comfort her. That's Batman. Both the Batman and the music gets this beautiful arc that gives you an amazing feeling, at least it does to me. I was never that interested in "Something in The Way" before The Batman because I never had a visual representation of it. I didn't have a character to connect it to, but now I do. And it's in this masterful rendition of hope aswell. This movie made me feel ways I haven't felt as strong before. Thank you for uploading this🙏
Edit: I just had to edit this in because I noticed that as this song progresses, the lyrics fade away, giving this even more meaning. That voice of isolation and uncertainty is leaving as the feeling of hope ensues. THAT is great storytelling.

Batman becoming a symbol of both Hope for the people and Fear for criminals is how he should be written. Sure he’s dark and broody, but there’s also those moments where he watches over the people he protects.
I remember reading a quote from someone “if you can’t see your Batman talking to and comforting a kid, then you just wrote the punisher in a Bat costume.”
Perfectly summed my thoughts. There's always a film that gives me further appreciation for a song by helping me associate it with a character arc, The Batman was that to "Something in The Way" I can't visualize Bruce's arc in this film or the Batman character in general now without thinking of this song. It perfectly represents his never-ending, almost futile crusade against crime in Gotham. But this version shows that at least, through hope Batman and the people of the city could have the strength to endure, to live to fight another day.
Finally, I wanted to listen to this version since I watched the movie

Honestly, that man blessed my childhood with the classic themes from “Up” & “The Incredibles” (along with countless other films) and continues to with this soundtrack.
I like how in the beginning of the film, we see a Batman motivated by rage and vengeance. His only goal being to find the one who murdered his parents. During the events of the film, I like how they gave Batman a greater sense of purpose by showing him as a hero that Gotham needs and deserves. They did an excellent job showing how he had to face his past and accept that his parents weren't perfect, but still love them. For me, the most important part was how Batman realized that he wasn't fighting just for himself in order to settle a score, but rather for the whole of Gotham City so that crimes such as what happened to his family don't happen to others.

This movie was just perfect. Every frame was a cinematic masterpiece and the soundtracks are just amazing
Now every time this song plays, we feel Batman's presence.
I can hear this over and over again, but nothing beats the first time hearing it. Tears literally rolled down my eyes when the strings started playing.
I can't even remember what it felt like ths first time, but I know it was powerful. I've watched and listened to this part many times, but I just don't remember anymore. To be honest, the more I analyze this, the more I appreciate it and find the deeper meaning unlike in my first listen/watch. It makes me feel different than it did the first time for sure.
Driving at night with Something In The Way blasting through my speakers is un undescribable feeling. Matt Reeves and Michael Giacchino are geniuses.

I’ve been waiting for this for a while, love it’s optimistic undertone despite the song being rather somber.
It’s optimistic when you know what that ‘something in the way’ is. The original song is about being discarded by society. Not having a place and drifting along, homeless.
For the Bruce, what was in the way was himself and his inner demons. Recognizing that and using it to become a leader and inspire hope transforms him.
It’s a lesson everyone goes through. A piece of yourself holding you back or being that anchor towards your goals. You need to fall in order to get back up.

I was waiting so hard for someone to upload this version of the song even though I can still hear the helicopter faintly I think you did a great job most people would have the audio super distorted, I wish someone would release a remix of the song with violins and cellos added.
The moment I heard the strings strumming in the song, that’s when I knew he was developing big turn like he was throughout the movie from someone bent up on anger and vengeance into becoming someone into a symbol of hope. Hearing that dialogue as he helped the girl onto the carrier and the music syncing into the scene as he watched the girl get carried away and Batman realizing what he must do now after the whole crisis event with riddler left me feeling tears wanting to come out due to how well done this film was, such a beautiful well done hero movie of the Batman and what Matt reeves had pulled off for this one. I can’t wait for the tv series’s and the next film on whoever he’s gonna be facing.

Batman and Nirvana is a dream I never expected to come true, it's not just a song that's in the movie, it's something significant to Batman's story and journey.
They took such a dark and melancholic song and gave it just a sprinkle of hope, it perfectly fits the scene of a similarly dark Gotham given hope by Batman.

This version of Nirvana Something in the Way tributes in memory of Curt Cuban's legacy is so wonderful & moving yet emotionally powerful. Vengeance turned to Hope. I like how the Batman character was set up in this movie, the director wanted the character to think outside of the box, instead of grieving over the loss of his parents, the director decides to make him want revenge and make sure other people in the city don’t end up like his parents did, very clever character developement
