Again a really nice show. I happen to be sipping on a Glenfiddich 15 YO Solera Reserve. Very nice and I get that raisin note that Malcolm got on the 19. FYI, I do like that you discuss color and viscosity via the legs. Not many reviwers do this. Sláinte Mhath!
@@TBWD Sorry Colin, that bottle was a one off Campbeltown festival release 2021 I had a few, as the price was right at the time(£45). Everything else from Red wine barrels I have is only partial finished or STR. You might see it on UK or European auctions, but as with your Glenfiddich it was swamped by berries 😉Buyer beware, but your well informed at least.
Another outstanding episode gentlemen. I've had a few drams of Glenfiddich over the years and always liked them but for you to use the term/descriptor of "smooth" so often really intrigues me. I'll be searching for a bottle of this and will report back if I can procure one. If I can't find this particular bottle, is there any other Glennfiddch that would come close to this particular bottle? Thank you and keep up the great work.
Thank you as always for your thoughtful comments. We definitely recommend this one (and the Madeira cask as well). This drank so easily, yet with complexity. Cheers!
Oh Man! This sounds like a dessert Scotch! From here, the color is reminding me of cognac and it sounds like the nose might be similar as well. At a 40abv this must be just delightful, well except to those who like the super smoky Scotches, it might be a bit too sweet for them. As always, great show guys. I look forward to seeing you again and again and again; you're like a fine Scotch, I'm gonna keep coming back for more! Rick
Gosh.. I hate to keep being the stick in the mud but Age Of Discovery always felt like " Age of what could have been" to me. If only it was 46% abv and non-chill filtered it would have been a MUCH more substantial project. Shameful waste of 19 Y.O. scotch to me. OK rant over.... nice video guys 😅
We appreciate the honesty! and we hope the lower ABV was an effort to allow the more subtle wine flavors space instead of being overwhelmed by a more potent spirit. All in all, we all root for higher ABV, NCF, & NCA. Cheers mate!
The Glenfiddich is a decent whisky, if underpowered. But what's with the bottle of Jose Cuervo Gold on the bar? That stuff is poison and represents an insult to my palate by just sitting there. Couldn't finish the video with that in the corner of my eye.
So, we hear you 100% on the 'yuck' factor represented in that bottle...it was there for 2 reasons...1, to suggest to Malcolm that was the bottle for the episode; but more importantly the reason that bottle is even in the bar is because it belonged to a dear friend who was killed many years ago and every now and then we pass that bottle around in tribute. We hope that you understand and find a way to finish the video; but to be clear, we agree that it is 'yuck'. Cheers!
Would it be possible to have a tour of your bar and the whole setup? If you've done this before sorry but I just love the look you have made.
We are working on a new intro video that shows more of the bar all in one short, almost a tour. Hang tight. Cheers! (and Thanks!!)
Great show!
Thanks and Cheers!

You do good reminding us of elements of the show that we should not forget to keep doing and for that we salute you. Cheers mate!
Cheers Lads, I did have a glass of Glen Scotia 10yr Bordeaux Red 56.1% handy too join in with a toast. Interesting facts as well.
ahh, that Glen Scotia sound delicious, another bottle I need to be on the lookout for. Cheers!

and we look forward to seeing you too; and correct, this whisky was delightful all around. Cheers mate!
