Thanks for this review. Very thorough! I recently bought one of these because I plan to record some drums. I work on an iPad Pro and I knew the mixer only works on a computer, but I bought it anyway. From the reviews I’ve seen, I feel like I’m still getting major bang for the buck. With the Evo being so portable, I’m hoping down the road that Audient finds a way to get the mixer on an app. It would seem to be a logical thing to do with so many people creating on iPads these days.
Nice review Chris I'm a fan of Focusrite myself ,the Scarlett range.Just upgraded to the 3rd gen 4i4 model .But like anything its a personal decision choosing an audio interface,so much to choose from as we all know,
Would you please tell me which audio quality is warmer and more sibiliance presence on scarlett 2i2 3rd gen vs evo8.. Also which one is better in latency
Hi Chris, its been a while i have been watching your channel, great content, i am new in the field on Sound, so please excuse me if I am asking a stupid question, i see you using 4 different mics to record drums, is it possible if i am using multiple mics then one mic will catch the sound of the other, for ex if there is one mic on the snare drum and one mic on the floor tom, then there are possibility that the mic on the floor tom might catch the sound coming from the snare drum too and vice versa, if you can please help me understanding this or if you can kindly make a video lesson on this please
So you can have 2 headphone mixes?? Are these separate to the headphone mixes that come out of the CUBASE control room? The new Evo 16 is advertising 4 headphone mixes!!! How would you do this with the Cubase control room please 🙏
I have the Presonus revelator io24 and love the FAT channel, im wondering if im using this with Discord/Zoom what the best way to toss some dynamics on the mic without having to route through DAW and back out....
cool stuff. I'm wondering why when adding track in cubase the evo audio is not visible, only default realtek soundcard from the laptop. driver and everything installed. tried with bandlab and it worked. used it with my mbpro and garageband with no problem
So how do we use it with the control room in Cubase? I’ve been unable to do this with my Scarlett 18i20. It’s like I now have three mixers and it’s got too confusing 😊
I've had problems with my focusrite 18i8 2nd generation on windows. Have you had issues with the evo 8 on windows? I was thinking of replacing it with the evo but I do not want the same issues.
4 in 4 out is great 40 in and 40 out would be awwwwwsome, yea not today, I see you are in a different room than usual. I love the way you set up your DAW "mixer" It is basically the same way I would set up my system but, I do not have the studio you do. My studio is 9.5 FT X 12 FT. It basically sucks. I would love to see your entire studio and in-depth explanations of "HOW and WHY" or "WHEN and WHERE".
@@mixdownonline I got a max out Macbook pro 2019 cubase 11. with 27 audio tracks process 6 fx send and master process cubase 11 is max out. also make all my instrument to one track and disabled all the instrument tracks with just 6 vocal tracks with processing still cubase max out . power it on this morning cubase still max out any idea why
I am a ardent subscriber. Question , I wonder if you had to choose between Evo 8, ID14 MKII or Motu Ultra-lite MK5, which would you select? I do use Cubase and want to make a decision.
I am looking forward to getting one of these in 2021. Also Chris did you do a mixing course to complement the Ultimate Cubase course? I can't seem to find it online.
Hi there sir! I got cubase le 11 for free with regards to my audient evo 8 purchased. I am using windows 10. My question is: Why everytime i click on record botton on the middle lower section of cubase window, and then cubase is recording, then i switch to another windows, let's say youtube, the cubase recording stop right away. I want to keep recording. What menu should i change so i can still recording even if i switching windows? Please help
Read this before you buy it. Hello folks I bought Evo 8 but it's not functioning as required. All 4 Outputs are behaving same. It does not have separate Outputs 🙁. For example, while my live performances I play keys and Synth bass from different midi controller's at the same time, Now what I need is to send only my Synth bass solo out to output 3 (or 3-4) but it's not going separately it's going along with the mix 1-2 in out 3-4 . 😢 So the conclusion is it does not provide you 4 separate out, but only provides stereo out on 1-2 & same stereo out of 1-2 along with some added instruments or click only. I'm feeling helpless, I only bought Evo 8 to send separate out but it's not functioning as required. I'll appreciate if some one proves me wrong. Help me please 🙏
Why not call it EVO 4.4. EVO 8 sounds like it would have 8 inputs. The name to me sounds dishonest. Speaking as someone who uses a Scarlett 18i8 which funnily only has 8 inputs and 8 outputs - hmmmm! An interesting review anyway thanks

Adding the Mixier for IPads would be a good move for sure. Hopefully they will in the future. Definitely a great bang for the buck :-)
Nice piece of gear. I look forward to a video on using loopback. Thanks!
Thanks, will do!
Thanks again Chris! I was looking for an interface like this. Will check it out, for sure!
Great!
Outstanding review, learned a lot. :)
Hi Chris, I want to know how can control in Learn CC mode my main big knob in control room ((Red knob)) with my external midi controller?! Thank you 🙏

What's missing here is how to set this up in Control Room. I cannot find a way to get a headphone out and a monitor out separately.
Hi Chris, could you link two channels together to create a stereo track to double track guitars then pan them separately?
Cheers!
I will answer your question on Friday's Q&A video :-)
@@mixdownonline awesome! In addition, how would you rate the mic pres in comparison to the id14?
thanks for video sir do you think it is better than focusrite scarlett solo
It has more in/out but more expensive than the scarlet. Check out the EVO4 if you don't need 4 inputs bit.ly/3gWd9qR
@@mixdownonline thank you 🙏
Is the EVO better than Scarlett 3rd Gen?
Hello i have evo 8. How can i use 4 input channel into zoom meeting at a same time?
You can use the Loopback feature as your Mic Input on Zoom and bring up the 4 channel faders from the Audient Console to feed the Loopback

Did you ever get your issue resolved?
How much latency do you have in cubase using 64 samples?
The Evo has zero latency monitoring. You don't need to use cubase to listen to your mix. The latency is about 8ms tho.
does it have an individual headphone output?
Yes, 2 individual headphone outputs
Cool but I definitely like my Steinberg UR824 more
So USB-C supports more power than USB-A? I had no idea!
PS. Tu portes des shorts! Wow, il fait chaud a Montréal en Décembre! LOL
Je porte des shorts l'été car il fait chaud and during winter since I'm in denial ;-)
🎉🎉🎉🎉💯
Yeah!
Drums sounded like they were clipping at the start? I don’t trust the smart gain 😮

I agree.
I know what you mean!
4in/4out 4+4=8 Evo 8
2in/2out 2+2=4 Evo 4
