Yes it is very important to dress right, with the right materials. I'm surprised the wool scarf works to well despite it is relatively thinner compared to the typical winter scarves.
Sub-zero sounded scary to me too. On my first night there, it was -9°C. I had on 7 layers and basically tried different combinations of what I have by going in and out of the hotel to do UAT, then finally go out for a short walk. Eventually settled on the final 3 internal layers as shown. I have spare sets of Uniqlo Extra Warm base layer - worse case put them all together. Just have to travel differently and manage 'outside exposure time'. You can always walk into shops to get warm a while..
Thanks for raising this up. I forgot to indicate the Columbia boots I have is specifically for winter, waterproof and the base is for walking on snow. 😁 just no help on melted snow cos its slippery all the same...
@@thesololady Nice Columbia boots! i got the decathlon waterproof hiking boots, it is lightweight, cheap ...i'm able to wear it in SG on raining days. But still need ice & snow grips cleat over shoe/boot that are anti-slip.
