Hey Gary, thanks for the perspective. We should a TH-cam feud! I have seen new harnesses melt, it's always human error. Not all original harnesses are terrible. Please don't give the impression I am fitting old harnesses in fully restored cars, we fit new Autosparks wiring for the record.
I don’t believe I said you fit old harnesses, the point was that you prefer to use the original ones for patina where as I would always replace them. I apologize if that was the impression you got. Certainly if a new harnesses melt that is down to human error in fitting or production.
Hey Gary. Brilliant video. I think the boy owen from canada drives a black etype , as you say he and his father work on loads of Brittish stuff. As an owner of a MK2 your video covered so many interesting areas. The wire loom thing is a worry for us all but its not really something we can do ourselves and trying to find someone local is nearly imposible. I had an issue with starter carb. It had the plunger re-adjusted and runs great now.. Thanks again Gary for taking the time for us out here ...GN
It’s not impossible to replace the harnesses I have done it a few times including on my MKII, and for fun I opened my old harness and there were a number of places where it was breaking down.
I understand u are not working on a XJS Jaguar but I have a question that maybe u could answer for me . I have a 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 HE coupe . I would need the length of the fuel injector hoses . The 10 are shorter but the front 2 injector hoses are longer in length . Do u know the length of the 10 short fuel injector hoses in millimeters and the same for the 2 front longer in length fuel injector hoses ?
Unfortunately it's a long time since I owned and worked on XJS's BUT 'Contact Living with a classic' channel his name is Adam and he is doing a lot of work on XJS's at the moment
Thanks for your reply . I am a paying member for Living with a Classic channel . I have sent a question to Adam today . I view your videos and his every week .
Unfortunately, things aren't moving forward at the moment. That's a shame. I wish you success in everything you do.

Looking at the MKII manual, the top connection to the brake master cylinder goes to the reservoir!
Yeah I think I looked online and picked the wrong diagram to believe 😭😭
