Thanks for the video Gary.
✨😎 ......👍
Wow, well done, it's stunning. The mk 2 has to be the best-looking saloon car ever made, in my opinion
I couldn't agree with you more, they are the best
Thanks again Gary. I do enjoy your detail. I know that it is getting late in the video posting can you put the video subject in the title as it would be worthwhile for people searching in the future to find furflex / air conditioning / wipe motor etc subjects. It would save people filing through all of your posts to find the particular subject that they might be looking for. Thanks Just my 2 cents AUD worth.
Sorry not going to change the title if you are looking for something in particular in my channel click on videos then in the search type what you are looking for, IF anyone is search for something for a MKII my channel will appear.
@jagvette1 no problems. Just a suggestion
I am so glad the glue worked out for u . I know from my own experience I like to look back at what has been completed on my Jaguar and be able to say I did that . I am sure u feel the same about your Jaguar project .
Absolutely and when/if I take it to a car show I can say yep I did it all bar the painting.
Will you be able to get the chrome on the angles at each side of inner windscreen after glueing furflex on.I think they need to be crimped on the inside
Bugger I'll have to check that I may need to redo it.
Lovely work. Thanks for posting
Hi Gary, still watching your posts. I hope i haven't missed one recently. Have you tested the AC pipes & if so how did they fare? Best wishes for the new year from Harryinchigwell.
No not tested yet I got sidetracked, I will video when I do it
Good progress, thanks for the video Gary.
Slowly getting there
😂🎉
Thanks for making your videos.i appreciate the work involved in making them.
Like a lot of TH-cam I do everything record edit publish, I could improve the way I do it but that would take too much effort.
The Lokweld u can use the very cheapest old style siphon spray gun . They can be had at Harbor Freight for about $25 sometimes they have particular spray gun on sale for $19.95 . In fact u can leave any left over glue in the bottom of the spray gun . Just clean the spray tip with mineral spirits .Run your compressor at about 40 to 50 psi . When u spray on glue do not spray directly down but at an angle otherwise u put a great deal of glue in one spot . Once u get into your seat upholstery u will want this type gluing method anyway .
Thanks that's very helpful, obviously at the moment spraying is not an option.
We learn as we go. Why not just pull the fuel tank sender to check the fuel condition and then evacuate the petrol via the bung?
Already drained, I made the pump works for a living :)
I love the detail that you go to. Thanks from Brisbane Australia.
I tried to show as much as I can although I sometimes forget I blame old age. I’m also sure that you must watch TJM who is from your neck of the woods.
Thanks for the video Gary.
Hi from Spain
🌲🌲🌲🥃🥃🥃🤠👍🎉
Nicely sorted out Gary . happy Christmas from Belgium . Grtz
Thank you and a happy Christmas to you too
Keep it going mate. Im now in Canada mid Mk2 restoration. Your videos are invaluable to guys like me. Awesome work.
Glad they are helping, I try for perfection but doesn't always happen and that's why I show my screw ups too.
Happy Christmas from Spain! Thanks for keeping me entertained and informed over 2024. Roll on January 20th. Unfortunately I have been laid up with 5 broken ribs, so haven't been able to work on my mk2 since October.
Broken ribs ouch, I hope the car didn't bite you, they do that sometimes. There is still a lot more to come in 2025, time to get this baby on the road. Happy Christmas to you too.
Hi, Grinch...ähm...Gary, Just make mistakes and you have always something to do. Greetings Udo
I think I have made enough mistakes, but sure there is more to come . Happy Christmas
Hi Gary. Glad you sorted it out... Hope you and the family have a lovely christmas...GN
My old lady has gone to help her sick sister, so I will have to console myself with my MKII :)
I knew you could do it. Well done my friend
I am a stubborn shit
I enjoy your videos. Thanks
Thank you
Well done! I even managed to watch (most of) the electrical stuff.
Not a process I wish to repeat
Whether people agree with it or not, Jaguar is quite a masculine brand and has been for many decades. A lot of that is down to its excellent racing heritage. The brilliant women racing drivers were in a very small minority. Therein lies the point. Gender tends to influence peoples interests. Whilst minorities and minority views should be respected, they cannot have disproportionate value in society- that is unfair. I agree with you about hydrogen powered vehicles. ICE can and are being converted to this.
Another fucking bloke in a shed that thinks he knows more than the people that engineered, designed, tested, developed , sold and guaranteed these cars. Deviate from standard all you like with you forum derived "efficiencies" but you are creating an orphan car, a frankencar that no one will want. You fuck off you dill. Why don't you buy a modern car if you want all the stuff you waffle on about? Way to miss the point of classic cars.
Well said.👍 It's your time and money invested in a passion. Do it the way you want. FTW! 🖕
That's just too expensive. Look on the used market.
Gary, you can buy really smart stainless Steel "door sill plates" in place of your ally ones, that's what I did on my mk2 (sc parts)
@@mikefayers9864 not at those prices
😂I lost some of those pins for the door handles. I cut down an old drill. Will you still have to pull out any remnants of that black wire even if you aren’t reinstating it?
already done, drill bits are a bit hard I wanted a softer material so I could bur over one end
Hopefully that’s it. Any issues I have with my car pale into insignificance. Nobody watching your posts has any doubt that you will triumph 👍. Pecker up! (no not that one you randy sod!)
At my age pecker up is a miracle :)
Terrible news. Keep us posted as to what you find out. Thank goodness you were able to stop it before it did too much damage. TH-cam cues these videos all to cock unless you go through subscriptions, so I watched a later one before I picked up this thread to find out what was going on.😮
As you will find out it is now fixed
This guy is a real professional !!
Thanks for sharing Gary.
I like the cloth seats
I'm a leather man myself :)
Nice job, you may want to change the color of the sunshades to match !
Not my car belongs to Henk
Top job, well done!
he did good
Thank you for posting
You do have your work cut out for you, good luck. I had my e type done by a professional thank goodness.
I did my E Type and an XJS they were easy compared to this bugger
Looks great I think I'll leave mine to the professionals.
where is your sense of adventure ?
Nice bit of work
next favourite to e type
I have a share in one of those as well but it doesn't live with me :(
The windscreen trim on my XKR has some nibbles on the edge of the rubber backing. You cannot get these and I’m thinking that ’shoe glue’ stuff you’re using might be the answer. Silicone is too soft. It’s just one of those niggles I notice about the car
I was surprised that shoe glue was really good.
I managed to put the seals on with the doors in place. It involves pulling the rubber down (which obviously then becomes thinner) past the hinges. Even when you squeeze contact adhesive down the channel, it should still work when it eventually goes off. You can then close the door fully to hold the seal in place. I didn’t do this because of the risk of the door sticking if there is any surplus, but you could open and shut the door to check. As you know, different seal makers have their own profiles so do a dry run to see if you can pull it through ok.
That’s great. Will your other fan help further or is it just for the A/C? Glad Dave’s channel is sorted.
it's for the A/C but if I find I need it I will install and override switch.
Hi, working on a Daimler 2.5 V8 which I got in 2006 then sold and now it's boomeranged back. It's all stripped out so I'm very interested in how the interior especially goes back together (mine has been eaten by rodents over the years). Enjoying watching you and you lovely car, regards, Jon.
I believe there are a number of differences with the Daimler but the ideas and a fair bit is the same.
