I actually love older songs in Just Dance, since in my opinion most popular songs nowadays are awful, so seeing songs like Temperature and Without Me get into 2021 made me very happy. Plus, having unknown artists in the series can help launch their careers. My only issue with the soundtracks nowadays is that there are hundreds of wonderful artists who still have yet to appear in the series, and for what? So Ariana or Blackpink can get their millionth song in the series? I don’t even like KPop and there are so many Kpop artists that haven’t even been given a chance to appear in the series! The soundtrack is really all I ever care about anymore for Just Dance, since the music used in a rhythm game is very important. If the song sucks you can’t really enjoy the level *cough* 7 rings *cough* Do I miss the other modes? Other than mashups, absolutely, and I do agree their absence drags the series down. But I will disagree with Party Master Mode since the Wii U isn’t used anymore, that probably would have gone away in 2020 anyway. As mentioned though, all I care about now is a good soundtrack, and nowadays for Just Dance, for every good song, there’s about 3 bad ones. I just hope they can turn that around with 2022, since what we have so far of the soundtrack looks promising.
I agree and I have a feeling that they are going to add How You Like That for Just Dance 2023 as BLACKPINK's last song because I'm getting tired of it and I'm sure other people are as well so if I was Ubisoft, I would put one last song for the main songlist and another one for Unlimited.
To be fair, there are a lot of DLC songs in the Just Dance 4 list in the beginning of the video. Also, there are a lot of pretty risqué songs in Just Dance 2021 (Say So is a great example of that) and the JD2022 trailers we have right now seem to indicate it will continue (Level Up and Run the World have pretty great, adult choreos).
Just Dance is like the NASCAR of video games. They're changing a lot of things to try to attract new players while catching the scorn of their most dedicated fans.
In my opinion, I like that they are doing more variety of songs than mainly popular ones since not everyone enjoys "popular" or "iconic" songs and they might not be popular in different areas around the world. Using a variety of songs from popular songs to old songs to hidden gems and more will make it so there is a higher chance to have at least one song suit or be enjoyed by a good amount of people. but I can also see why people can disagree with this
I think that Ubisofts spends most of the budget on getting the rights to kpop songs. This is why they can’t afford to get the more popular songs. Ubisoft should just have 1 kpop song in the main game with an extreme and then 1 as an unlimited exclusive. Plus they paid extra to get the rights to use the official choreography for feel special extreme. It seems like they are focusing on kpop more than actual good songs
That’s not true because even games before they added kpop, 2016-2018 are not as good and have most of these problems Besides, most of the songs from American artists are also expensive af, why do you think we don’t get anymore Rihanna songs, why it took so long to get artists like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, or why we still don’t have artists like Taylor Swift? Because the rights to their songs are expensive. But even then, Ubisoft is a billion dollar company and a lot of their series are really popular and brings them the money for them to be able to still manage to make more just dance games So the newer games are not as good for the reasons stated in the video and many others (like burn-out, creative block, etc), not because they started to add kpop in it
@@LinkFan199 lool no we cant get rihanna cause her studio denied all rights to ubisoft and taylor swift doesnt own any of her song its owned by her studion even if she gets added her studio will take it down
@@deppresedemoji5019 Taylor Swift owns her music now, and even if she didn’t it doesn’t even work how you’re saying If she didn’t own her music instead of asking her directly Ubisoft would simply have to ask her label Either way her music could not be added without permission first, so there’s no way she would get added and then removed from the game because her label didn’t allow it, that’s not how it works
What I hate most about the newest ones is how all the most fun ones and older ones are locked behind the Just Dance Unlimited paywall. It's so annoying because I find a map I love so much with a song I love so much only to realise I can't play them because of Unlimited
JD16 is the most underrated game. It served game-modes, good choreos, beautiful maps and a great song-list but everyone hates on it especially in tier list videos 9 times out of 10 it is in bottom 5. And I love the HUD/Menu I think the galaxy them is cute and I’m glad it is coming back in JD22.
I’m afraid we will never get back these awesome things from the older just dance games: The clapping at the end of every song Dance mashups Extreme versions Solo Medleys Duet Medleys Dance Crew Medleys The floating speakers on the sides of the screen that say x, ok, good, perfect, and yeah
You may always burn your eyes searching on the internet for a good-condition Xbox 360, and then burn your eyes again looking for Just Dance 3, Greatest Hits, and 4. I swear to you it was worth. (Do not buy JD 2014 for Xbox 360, it is better for Xbox One)
I never liked the floating speakers, personally, they looked ugly and took up a lot of space. They especially wouldn’t fit with the more cinematic maps we have now.
Honestly, I completely agree with your points. I think to tie it all up, JD is being completely individualized of learning dances instead of having the fun modes to learn them with your family. It feels like JD hasn’t become family-friendly to pick up and play anymore which kinda sucks.
I wish we had more variety in the songs, like more slow ones, and i wish choreos weren't always easy, something like Drum Go Dum is a very good example cz it's an extreme and doesn't have an alt, i wish we had more of that
Okay, I'm gonna be honest and comment all of the points here, so big text allert. 1- Songs The diversity of songs are actually something great! I know most of the time ppl never heard of any of them but f it, some of them became part of my playlist at the second I heard them! Like Adeyyo, Soy Yo and New World. It's important the diversity so we can diversify ourselfs, listen to new styles and artits. I mean, only after I heard China that I discover that I love Latin Music. I'd love to have more popular music? of course, but F it, we can have both! Diversy music AND United States Pop music. 2- Game modes I agree, I miss a lot mash ups and battles. 3- Childish Well, yeah, there is a lot of childish maps, but are actually just a few per game, and aren't even in the bests songs so we can just ignore them. And some times this can make a good map, like What Does The Fox Say, just like somebody mentioned bellow. So yeah, Some times (most of them) is bad, but some times is good. It's just a matter of the dev's choose carefully what thy're doing. 4- Nostalgia This one is actually not fair at all. Acording to my nostalgia JD 4 is the best JD ever, because it's were my first game EVER, and the one that got me my first Xbox. But I know for a fact that the JD 2014 is the best of the franchise for a lot of points. So this one is just not fair. 5- Boring Yeah, the lack of new features are something that works for the worst. And the dances itselfs were pretty repetitive for like 2017 until 2019, but now I really think that the new coreographies are really agitaded. Just the old game modes back and I'm sure it will not be a little boring anymore.
@@brianzuann Well, 1 repetitive song among a lot of great ones And for me 2017, 2018 and 2019 are the 'downs' of the franchise, even though I really like them, the dances are simply weak in my opinion.
@@Hanjil con calma is repetitive, sushi is repetitive, soy yo is repetitive, stop movin is repetitive, fit but you know it is repetitive etc. tbh i love 2020 but i like 2019 more cuz there's literally no bad choreos besides obsessión. also, how can 2017 be worst than 2018?
@@brianzuann I don't think 2017 is worst than 2018. I do think all games are amazing, I just think this 3 are the "downs" ones. JD 2017 is the one that bring me back to the franchise, but it didn't really catch me, like 2018 and 2019. But 2020 did this to me, and like I said in the first topic, 2020 bring more diversity to the songs, and is a big "yes" for me. All games are amazing, but those 3 are just less apealling for me personally, just this.
JD1&2 - The Start JD3-15 - The golden era of JD (imo i don’t like 15) JD16 - The start of the downfall (the game is good tho) JD17-21 - do i need to explain? JD22 - hopefully the start of good things since 22 is low key better than 17-21 (don’t come @ me!)
JD2015 is my least favorite JD game, and here’s how I imagined the JD series: JD1 - The start of a series JD2 - The game where we realized we were getting sequels to JD1. JD3, & 4 - The rest of the classics, and the beginning of the series no longer being Wii exclusive JD2014 - The bridge between classic and modern JD2015 - The start of the downfall of JD JD2016-2021 - The modern games that have JDU for the sake of trying to keep the series alive when it inevitably fails at some point. JD2022 - A step in the right direction?
My favorite just dance games are from 2017 downwards, every since just dance 2020, ive felt the games are more "souless", just dance now is just also dlc, and the switch version is so plain, thats why i love just dance 2017, it has game modes, its fun, good maps, and its not childish.
In the newer Just Dance games this is what I wanna see.. -maybe add dark mode and light mode -have more gamemodes -less childish songs -add songs ppl actually like and listen to and not some random ones
they have a website that fan can request so why not Just Dance team pick 10 songs that are most requested from the community to add in the final songlist like songs like Sua Cara, Chandelier, were the most requested among JD community..
I agree. Specially with the variety of songs in the older versions. Now most games have in majority party songs, but we used to have songs that weren't so excitement-oriented before and it was just as fun. But I think my main issue is the backgrounds. Back then we have flashy backgrounds as well, but the dancer was definitely bolded no matter the animation. Now the background has so many animation and colors that it's difficult to concentrate on the dancer T.T
THIS is why I didn't get JD2021. I recently took up playing JD again, and I started to like older games like 4 and 2014 the best (my other favorites are 2017 and 2016) and dislike games like 2019 and 2020. Even 2018 (which I used to love) got boring and repetitive. Also, I MISS HATSUNE MIKU. I have hope for 2022, but I'll just have to wait and see.
@@-PaulThePerson- In 2019 I was hoping the would put in World's End Dancehall as tribute to Wowaka, but I should have known they wouldn't if the didn't even bother to make a Queen song when Bohemian Rhapsody (movie) came out.
I like the fact that old just dance songs didn’t have a lot of camera movements and it was mostly still. When I try to dance to new ones, they make me dizzy due to the camera movements.
I think ubisoft saw that people liked more watching the dances in youtube than buying the games so they started to put low copyright songs in their games to safe money, it's my theory
I have really good memories with Just Dance 2015, because me and my bff played it a lot when we were 7-8 years old. Our favorite dances was ofc Frozen, The man and cactus, The fox and Tetris😂
For the reasons you gave my favorite Just Dance is 2017, as it includes all the good things of the ancients (with the exception of a few things) and for me it was the last "good" game.
@@luking4music363 i think 2022 looks bad. Especially the Chandelier map, looks terrible. But its all opinion really i agree with 2017 being the last good game
For me, the biggest problem is the difficulty. I know that easy songs have to be easy, but easy ≠ repetitive. It's getting really boring. My biggest example of this is Fancy by TWICE. The song is great, but the same moves repeating for 8 times is not that great lmao. Also, 7 rings (normal version), kill this Love (normal version) and many more are examples of it.
It started going downhill after 2016, then just shutted down after 2018. Old just dance was way more better than new just dance, after removing all their game modes and childish maps on their new ones. I lost interest after 2018. On the bright side they didn't remove the Alternate versions of some routines. Their choreographies and somgs started getting boring too. They should've brung back On-Stage Mode, DLC, Race, Medleys, Mashups, Dance Battle, Simon Says, Just Sweat, etc., then maybe I would've liked them making Just Dance games to this day.
I have no opinions about the old Just Dance games cause I only got JD 2020 and 2021. But I do have some pros and cons of those 2 games. JD 2020- Pros: In the WDF, they have Song votes, Team Battles, Tournaments and Limited time boss battles which can be useful for unlocking more avatars and the All-Star mode is just like time travel back to the 1st game which I thought it was pretty cool Cons: Has 2 childish songs that I don't like 'Baby Shark' and 'Bassa Babba' and 'Fancy' by TWICE didn't use the move from actual choreography. JD 2021: They use moves from the actual choreography like "Feel Special" by TWICE, "Monster" by EXO and "Come Back Home" by 2NE1 and you can get all of the avatars in all of the main 2021 songs Cons: WDF is a massive let down for this game it just pure tournaments and that's it 😢 and Quick play mode only has 1 purpose and that is get an Alias, "Just one more dance" and that's it 😢 Let's just hope JD 2022 will have less cons and more pros.🤞
4:19 Hey! But also jd1 and jd2 are great games! With a lot of great modes (Simon says, the lifes mode of jd1, sweat mode, this was added for the first time in jd2) and excellent coreos (toxic, sos, maniac, funplex, proud Mary, moving on up, jerk it out, cotton eye joe, ETC, ETC) They also have a lot of people that say that jd1 or jd2 are they favorite game Like me :)
@@misterdewott8766 I don’t believe that is the case. Just Dance 2021 had less colorful “dark” dances as well but they still appeal to a wide audience. Old Just Dance games had colorful “childish” songs in them too, yet they are barely played by audiences. Also, what is your definition of lame?
@@jcal7096 I meant to say songs like "Without Me" and "Bangarang" had choreography that were extremely sluggish and easy despite the songs themselves being super high energy. I understand there's an extreme mode but why couldn't be the default since the original is so boring
@@misterdewott8766Of course the classic choreos are going to be easy, that’s mainly the entire point of Just Dance. Fun and easy songs to dance to. While I do agree Without Me’s classic is really boring, (that’s because I find it too long) the extreme is there for people like you and me without subtracting from the fun of other people.
2:03 'Without me' classic childish!!! Hmmm, I gotta disagree with you on that one. I adore how that one was performed, acted and designed. It for me is the most compelling routine I've ever danced to and I've been playing since JD2. The storytelling is phenomenal, the characterisation is EPIC, the song was a massive yet pleasant surprise and the routine wasn't even that repetitive as each verse delved into the character of each coach. (These are some of the reasons why it is my favourite JD map of all time!!!)
Without Me and Que Tire Pa Lante were cartoonish, but not childish. Like take a look at the Without Me Alt. They sexualized that coach lmao. I liked those maps and don’t think they were childish and terrible.
@@elijahtorres2688 Same, I agree they can be cartoonish at times but aren't most superheroes meant to be. Also without much colour all we'd have are lifeless (as opposed to vibrant) routines for the most part.
Maybe it’s just me, but Just Dance 1-3 has such a great atheistic to them. They were so simple and charming. The new ones look cool, but they look really generic and distract from the actual dancing.
Seeing 'Without me' being compared to 'Dibby dibby sound' and 'Kulikitaka' made feel sad. 'Without me' is the most under appreciated JD21 routine IMO. (And there isn't much difference between some kids mode songs and easy songs from JD2-2014, (e.g (from 2014)): In the Summertime, Nitro Bot, Could you be loved, Ghostbusters, Prince Ali, Rich girl(although I like it) and The Way). (I remember getting a bit bored of JD14 in comparison to JD4 because I felt it lacked a lot of JD4's more colourful and extravagant personality which I saw a fair bit in JD19 and JD21. Also some of the scoring on some songs from earlier JD games are broken.)
I was also never really a big fan of 'She Wolf (falling to pieces)' both routine wise and coach wise. I actually felt that it was pretty repetitive (even in comparison to more recent JD games) when I first saw it and the moves were pretty simple also.
@@brianzuann With moves involving dancers interacting with each other ((e.g):picking one member up), synchronicity and acting, I can't see why it should be described as being childish (it is a lot more complicated than Baby shark, Kulikitaka, Dibby dibby sound and even so called grown up routines such as Feels so right, Follow the leader, Where have you been, Turn up the love, etc from JD2014). I find it is being dismissed by being called childish. Both to me will forever and always be JD masterpieces, even better than all the routines from the so called holy grail of JD14. Without me is for everyone, but is challenging even for very young kids. I also find it cliched that if something is colourful it is childish cause I feel that some routines with blander colour schemes are not necessarily grown up themselves, in fact they sometimes come across as pretty generic and boring. (Lol I get soo emotional over this routine, I adore it soo much!!!)
@@mat-har5057 bro it's literally a dance about comic heroes, what's more childish than this? even the dancers are dressed in some dumb colorful clothes that no one from dc/marvel would wear. PS. without me is my favorite jd2021 choreo
Yeah I remember when I bought older games I would spend hours and hours on them but now I usually play each song a couple times and get bored. And when I do play the newer games I usually dance to older songs on Just Dance Unlimited because they seem more fun :/ I think maybe they need new choreographers or something because a lot of newer songs feel too repetitive and not as fun as they used to be.
i personally don’t like how they’re adding constant lore to the new games. it was cool when it was just the bride and rasputin but now it’s just ridiculous. i’m not matpat. i want to dance.
Also i think why there are way more "childish" is because 2021 is now getting kids attention like rich girl is very grown but do you think that ubisoft would add a map like that if they knew children were playing it???
I thought I was the only one that liked old JD games I’m glad people recognize they’re better too BRO THE KAPS CHARACTERS CHOREOGRAPHIES EVERYTHING THE MUSICC
JD2019’s songs weren’t terrible as they chose the fun unknown songs, but they made them pretty childish, repetitive, and boring. I remember being pretty disappointed in the E3 song list back then.
About songs that aren't popular i want say, that in Just Dance 4 list you included DLC songs and old songs. So if we add Unlimited to Just Dance 2021,we have also Tusa, Stupid Love, Monster, Head & Heart, Come Back Home, this duo from season 2 and from base game Adore you, Uno, Till The worlds end, Bailando, Without me, you got a friend in me, Samba de Janeiro, Temperature, All the good girls go to hell, in the navy, that shows that we have a lot of well know songs.
I feel like they just pick like 3 kpop songs ( which i love as a kpop listener), whatever songs are popular on Tiktok , and whatever they can get the ok to do. I feel like Just Dance needs to make Just Dance kids mode it's own game again like did they did before.
I definitely disagree with some of these. I feel like the childish claim isn't super accurate since you showed clips from 2014 and 2015, which also have childish songs like In the Summertime, Mahna Mahna, Speedy Gonzales, I Love It alt., What Does the Fox Say alt., Tetris, etc. Also the motive behind kids mode I find really sweet, to let kids enjoy dancing and sorta learn at the same time. Plus, it allows them to grow up with the game - also gives them a Just Dance without having to set aside a whole budget for another JDKids game. The World Dance Floor this year is what I attribute the most to everyone's burnout nowadays. It's not fun, just frustrating and boring. If 2022 has all the same issues I feel it might be the end for a lot of the community.
the things is about Kids Mode the kids don't even like em.. they prefer play actual song rather than random song that Just Dance compile also only toddlers that don't know anything would love the Kids Mode
@@excuf56 Plus the room system has discouraged people from playing with friends, and it's just generally useless since it's not actually even based on skills, just on how many songs you've played.
This is just me, but I literally noticed only a few of those reasons like game modes and nostalgia until watching this😂...I do agree with the majority of these opinions though, like I totally want all of the old game modes back, etc. Great video Waxy!
It's obv why the original are better. Songs were great, faces were flat which are tbh better than the ones with faces, like u said the modes are bland. It's just so boring. The old ones were so good. Also I feel that most songs in the old games just hold up more than the new ones. Like for example who let the dogs out,hey ya, hot n cold, firework, ghostbusters. Just stuff like that make the old games better
I agree with you I just don’t like how after JD22 everything changed now it’s only on Nintendo and phone , and it’s so complicated to get onto a single game now like… I kinda miss the old one too.
Categories I agree with: Songs: Honestly, I actually like some of the songs that nobody knows. Joone Khodet is honestly underrated but some songs like Milosc W Zakopanem are just awful, so I agree but I don’t at the same time Game Modes: I 100% agree on this. Kids Mode is back and NOBODY CARES! Quick Play is actually worse than Kids Mode in my opinion because it’s just normal Just Dance but you can’t choose your songs. This is why I stopped playing Just Dance 2021 for a long time because there weren’t any modes that were fun. I never touched Just Dance until Just Dance 2022 was announced. I feel like they shouldn’t have changed World Dance Floor. This is why I only play Just Dance 2020’s World Dance Floor. Childish: To be fair, older games did have childish maps, but so many in newer games. Just Dance 2021 and 2019 are great examples. I can agree on this one Nostalgia: Obviously I agree. Just Dance 4 was my first Just Dance game. It’s still my favourite Just Dance game. I remember getting all of my tasks *dance quests* done on Never Gonna Give You Up (yes). The first song I ever danced to was What Makes You Beautiful. I do remember missing out on pretty much the entire Just Dance 2020 demo because I didn’t know how to get Old Town Road, Talk, and Let’s Groove. That’s about it though. Boring/Repetitive: See Game Modes
I feel like just dance has slowly gone from being a game for parties to a game for kids, which is kind of sad tbh. Whenever you play an old just dance song, you can easily imagine a bunch of people getting together and dancing to the song. While the newer just dance songs just feel... eh.
I agree. As much as ubisoft is trying hard to make their fans enjoy their game, the people that played them since around the early 2010s including myself, I've been so addicted to those games because of the songs, game modes and most of the maps are not childish and only like 1 or 2 of them do. In my opinion, I liked Ubisoft's work back in the good old days, not much of the newer days because I think they are being too lazy and a bit picky when it comes to people wanting the game to change and make the fans more happy. After jd2020 I kinda stopped caring about just dance because it's starting to get boring. I just wish that ubisoft kept making the game change as much as they can besides adding new maps and make people spending more money on the same game with the same songs that you can already play from the older games. As much as I'm being too picky with what ubisoft is doing right now I'm not gonna continue with their newer games because of the same reasons as yours.
i like the kids mode for one reason : my little sister who is a toddler loves to dance but the regular dances are to hard for her so I always play kids mode with her anytime she wants to play. she loves the childish dancers and dances so that’s why I’m happy they made it
New Just Dance aint that childish lol, have u seen the floor humping move in Level Up (2022)? lmao. i dont want anyone walking in on me when i do that 😭
I do prefer older games but I also like the newer games. My opinion, 2021, after a while, I was pissed that the wdf was only tournaments, and if I was in the mood to play other year dance floors, I only have a wii and a switch, so no going further back than 2017, but I'm kinda glad bosses aren't a thing anymore because they're so rare you probably won't get the avatar. I also felt dumb trying to play these childish maps over and over again just to megastar. And once I found out what freeplay mode was, I was pretty mad, they could of done better. 2020, once again, too childish, never could get all of the songs megastared, don't really have much to say other than I like all star mode, the best mode we've gotten within the past few years. 2019, like the songs, sad there's not many modes, 2018, sad they got rid of most of the modes, they added kids mode but that's where the childish map horror began. All the games before 2018, good nostalgia, could say the same with the others, good maps, nice choreos, some of my favorite songs. So my overall opinion, new games are fine but older games have a different feel that I prefer, but that's my opinion.
For me, just dance 2019 is a great game and I squeezed it out a lot after my absence since after Just Dance 4. The bad thing that just dance 2020 arrived and suddenly I lost interest again. I took the one from 2021, but I did not save the saga for me and I have decided not to buy the just dance 2022 onwards
I quite enjoy 2020 and 2022 i agree with 2021,2017,2018,2019 being childish and what not like 2021 arguabley was the worst year yet honestly 2022 Has Left the childish topic with alot more songs that include swearing on clean Example Mood Good 4 U Build A _____ Boss Witch (Change Of Lyrics) Happier Than Ever And More Good To See Their Saying Goodbye To The Childish Side And Move All That To Kids Gamemode

I got in Just Dance in 2019, it was my first game (have played 2017 at a friend before) and I was obsessed like played everyday, talked about it in school, it was my everything, I went for trophies and all. I asked for previous games, so I have more, I obviously have a jdu pass too. When they announce 2020 I wasn't really happy with the song list, but still bought the game and I've grown to like it. But 2021 was a huge disappointment, I bought it the day it came out, but I just couldn't enjoy it, and I haven't played for idek how long. I miss playing jd but I have zero motivation and I'm looking forward for 2022... I agree with everything you said!
Lately I find myself playing older songs, (Which is not often because I don’t play Just Dance often), My most recently played song Is Teenage Dream, An old song, I also tried Birthday again because on my actual birthday I wanted to do it but when I tried it a few days before my birthday, I learned the detection on Birthday wasn’t working as it should, I was doing the moves perfectly fine but I kept getting “Super, Good, Ok”, When I tried it again in 2021 The detection was, as expected, still not working correctly (This is on Nintendo Switch btw), But I still got SuperStar so I’m okay with it I like Kulikitaka by the way, It’s cute, I don’t find the coach to fit the song very well, but it’s cute
I see a lot of people in comment section expecting JD 2022 to be better than previous games, so let me crush your expectations straight away: we will get the same game with same UI, same game modes, same childish maps and everyone will be playing this new game for 2 months and then it will get boring just like every single year since 2019. Everything I've mentioned above was already leaked. Oh yeah, and can we talk about top tier Xbox players getting their account banned for being too good in JD 2021? Overall, this series became horrible in 2019 and it still is. I understand why people quitting the game. It's just not fun anymore. No modes, no UI changes, no World Cup. Nothing. Just Songs. Song, songs and songs. Anyways, I'm happy that there are still people who understand why older JDs were better. Great video, Waxy
My brother thought Just Dance 2022 was boring. But he liked Just Dance Now, which is a Just dance game for IPhone and Android for people who don't know.
This is the main reason I stopped getting a new Just Dance every year; the last one I ever got was Just Dance 2019. Because 9 times out of 10, it’ll probably just be the same as last year. In each new game there will be some songs that I like, however it’ll probably be underwhelming with the choreos and maps.
When I was younger, I would buy Just Dance games like 2014, and 4. because I liked some of the maps and songs. I still do the same with the newer games, like Happier Than Ever, Last Friday Night, Physical, and Sweet but Psycho. The only thing I want back in the game is are these: (though Ubisoft might not listen) 1. A legitimate On-Stage Mode 2. Battle Mode 3. Less Childish Maps 4. Less Kpop songs 5. More older songs so all people can enjoy. 6. Not all backgrounds in maps have to be complex, but not too simple. I don't hate Kpop but I don't like it either. It just feels like half of every new just dance game has Blackpink or BTS in it. EDIT: Another comment said that some people might not enjoy some of the new popular songs, which is why I would recommend Ubisoft added more throwback songs from early 2000's or later. There are lot of improvements in the new game I love, like how the maps are some majestic and sometimes have a story or meaning.
Ubisoft in last JD games always puts the JD Unlimited, which is boring, but has many songs from the past JD versions. Because of that, they forgot to make more and more free songs to dance.
To be honest, I don't think they will listen because it's Ubisoft and there's a 50% change of them listening to their fans, especially Just Dance fans but there is one way for them to listen and that is to share this video as much as possible
I feel like every game had a different up different score boards like those floating circles in jd2 and 3 but the new uis are all the same and haven’t changed

If the song sucks you can’t really enjoy the level
*cough* 7 rings *cough*
Do I miss the other modes?
Agreed I got just dance unlimited and I use it occasionally but still use a bunch of 2022
i don’t understand the 7 rings thing
Temperature extreme and Without me are my favourites in the game.
Let's not forget that ubisoft uses jdu to add more in "inappropriate" songs like mayores or boys
the dlc songs are now unlimited songs 😐
That is why I have high hopes for jd2022
Yup just dance 2022 has some more adult songs lol. It's actually one of the best ones since a while lol
Just Dance is like the NASCAR of video games. They're changing a lot of things to try to attract new players while catching the scorn of their most dedicated fans.
I agree. This is something I've been saying since Just Dance 2017
Thank you for using NASCAR as a way JD has been slowly rotting into some childish game
And this is why I’m never selling my old just dance games!
Awwh man I’ll give 100$?
Lol in your dreams!
@@Neymarsoslayomg they’re still some on Amazon and in GameStop (depending on the location).
Well its like the more kpop song they got more kpop stans would come to play they dont care about the old fans they just want more and more
That’s not true because even games before they added kpop, 2016-2018 are not as good and have most of these problems
Besides, most of the songs from American artists are also expensive af, why do you think we don’t get anymore Rihanna songs, why it took so long to get artists like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, or why we still don’t have artists like Taylor Swift? Because the rights to their songs are expensive.
But even then, Ubisoft is a billion dollar company and a lot of their series are really popular and brings them the money for them to be able to still manage to make more just dance games
So the newer games are not as good for the reasons stated in the video and many others (like burn-out, creative block, etc), not because they started to add kpop in it
@@LinkFan199 lool no we cant get rihanna cause her studio denied all rights to ubisoft and taylor swift doesnt own any of her song its owned by her studion even if she gets added her studio will take it down
I think you made a good point Chantelle.
@@deppresedemoji5019 Taylor Swift owns her music now, and even if she didn’t it doesn’t even work how you’re saying
If she didn’t own her music instead of asking her directly Ubisoft would simply have to ask her label
Either way her music could not be added without permission first, so there’s no way she would get added and then removed from the game because her label didn’t allow it, that’s not how it works

I’m afraid we will never get back these awesome things from the older just dance games:
The clapping at the end of every song
Dance mashups
Extreme versions
Solo Medleys
Duet Medleys
Dance Crew Medleys
The floating speakers on the sides of the screen that say x, ok, good, perfect, and yeah
We get nearly 10 new extreme versions every year??
This was why jd4 was my first game. I had Jd 2,3,4
Best Just Dance Games Would be JD3, JD4, JD2014, JD2017
Its my opinion
The only new I like is 2018 but others I’m not really in to.
2018 is most underrated imo
Don't exclude my boi JD2
Just dance 4 goes CRAZY
I wish we had more variety in the songs, like more slow ones, and i wish choreos weren't always easy, something like Drum Go Dum is a very good example cz it's an extreme and doesn't have an alt, i wish we had more of that
Okay, I'm gonna be honest and comment all of the points here, so big text allert.
1- Songs
The diversity of songs are actually something great!
2- Game modes
I agree, I miss a lot mash ups and battles.
3- Childish
Well, yeah, there is a lot of childish maps, but are actually just a few per game, and aren't even in the bests songs so we can just ignore them. And some times this can make a good map, like What Does The Fox Say, just like somebody mentioned bellow. So yeah, Some times (most of them) is bad, but some times is good. It's just a matter of the dev's choose carefully what thy're doing.
4- Nostalgia
This one is actually not fair at all. Acording to my nostalgia JD 4 is the best JD ever, because it's were my first game EVER, and the one that got me my first Xbox. But I know for a fact that the JD 2014 is the best of the franchise for a lot of points. So this one is just not fair.
5- Boring
Yeah, the lack of new features are something that works for the worst. And the dances itselfs were pretty repetitive for like 2017 until 2019, but now I really think that the new coreographies are really agitaded. Just the old game modes back and I'm sure it will not be a little boring anymore.
yessss!!!! someone finally sees that jd2014 is the best game
lol wt f are you talking about, bad guy has the most repetitive choreo ever while 2019 and 2017 were not repetitive
@@brianzuann Well, 1 repetitive song among a lot of great ones
And for me 2017, 2018 and 2019 are the 'downs' of the franchise, even though I really like them, the dances are simply weak in my opinion.
JD1&2 - The Start
JD3-15 - The golden era of JD (imo i don’t like 15)
JD16 - The start of the downfall (the game is good tho)
JD17-21 - do i need to explain?
JD22 - hopefully the start of good things since 22 is low key better than 17-21
(don’t come @ me!)
JD2015 is my least favorite JD game, and here’s how I imagined the JD series:
JD1 - The start of a series
JD2 - The game where we realized we were getting sequels to JD1.
JD3, & 4 - The rest of the classics, and the beginning of the series no longer being Wii exclusive
JD2014 - The bridge between classic and modern
JD2015 - The start of the downfall of JD
JD2016-2021 - The modern games that have JDU for the sake of trying to keep the series alive when it inevitably fails at some point.
JD2022 - A step in the right direction?
nuh uh😭😭 don’t disrespect jd-17-18 like that LOLLL not hate

Just dance 2014 is my first JD game and the first two songs I played were She wolf (falling into pieces) and Feel this moment
In the newer Just Dance games this is what I wanna see..
-maybe add dark mode and light mode
-have more gamemodes
-less childish songs
-add songs ppl actually like and listen to and not some random ones
they have a website that fan can request
so why not Just Dance team pick 10 songs that are most requested from the community to add in the final songlist
like songs like Sua Cara, Chandelier, were the most requested among JD community..

Now the background has so many animation and colors that it's difficult to concentrate on the dancer T.T
i dont think the childish part is fair because all just dance games have childish routines

JD 2020- Pros: In the WDF, they have Song votes, Team Battles, Tournaments and Limited time boss battles which can be useful for unlocking more avatars and the All-Star mode is just like time travel back to the 1st game which I thought it was pretty cool
Cons: Has 2 childish songs that I don't like 'Baby Shark' and 'Bassa Babba' and 'Fancy' by TWICE didn't use the move from actual choreography.
JD 2021: They use moves from the actual choreography like "Feel Special" by TWICE, "Monster" by EXO and "Come Back Home" by 2NE1 and you can get all of the avatars in all of the main 2021 songs
Cons: WDF is a massive let down for this game it just pure tournaments and that's it 😢 and Quick play mode only has 1 purpose and that is get an Alias, "Just one more dance" and that's it 😢
Let's just hope JD 2022 will have less cons and more pros.🤞
4:19 Hey! But also jd1 and jd2 are great games! With a lot of great modes (Simon says, the lifes mode of jd1, sweat mode, this was added for the first time in jd2) and excellent coreos (toxic, sos, maniac, funplex, proud Mary, moving on up, jerk it out, cotton eye joe, ETC, ETC)
They also have a lot of people that say that jd1 or jd2 are they favorite game
Like me :)
The sad part is that this is gets more true as the new games come along
I even stopped playing JD after owning every single one
Don't forget that Ubisoft spends their entire budget on the maps/coaches/backgrounds/outfits and just slaps it on the same menu every year.
Childish maps are not a new thing to the Just Dance series. There were still childish maps in the old games too.
I get that but a lot of the dances have gotten lame and more colorful all so they can appeal to a wider audience. But it makes it super dumb

I also didn't like how Que Tire Pa Lante was lumped in there either.
@@Valhalla05 Same, that one is one of my favourites also.

Maybe it’s just me, but Just Dance 1-3 has such a great atheistic to them. They were so simple and charming. The new ones look cool, but they look really generic and distract from the actual dancing.
I guess I’m a 3 year old as I love the kids mode songs 😂😂😂😂😂
@@mat-har5057 i like both but without me really is childish.. just the extreme isn't

I agree with you I just don’t like how after JD22 everything changed now it’s only on Nintendo and phone , and it’s so complicated to get onto a single game now like… I kinda miss the old one too.

See I think party masters, mashups and battles should come back and more song like TGIF with returning old coaches
If only all star mode was also in the newer games like 2021 and 2022
Categories I agree with:
Songs: Honestly, I actually like some of the songs that nobody knows. Joone Khodet is honestly underrated but some songs like Milosc W Zakopanem are just awful, so I agree but I don’t at the same time
Game Modes: I 100% agree on this.
I can agree on this one
Nostalgia: Obviously I agree.
I missed out all the past games my first game was 2020:)
Doesn't hurt to go game shopping for the old ones!
I feel like just dance has slowly gone from being a game for parties to a game for kids, which is kind of sad tbh. Whenever you play an old just dance song, you can easily imagine a bunch of people getting together and dancing to the song. While the newer just dance songs just feel... eh.
just dance 4 and 2014 and 2015 and 2016 were the best tbh
I agree with everything! I loved the video and I must talk that even I'm sick of JUST DANCE hahahaha
As much as I'm being too picky with what ubisoft is doing right now I'm not gonna continue with their newer games because of the same reasons as yours.
i like the kids mode for one reason : my little sister who is a toddler loves to dance but the regular dances are to hard for her so I always play kids mode with her anytime she wants to play. she loves the childish dancers and dances so that’s why I’m happy they made it
New Just Dance aint that childish lol, have u seen the floor humping move in Level Up (2022)? lmao. i dont want anyone walking in on me when i do that 😭
The Just Dance games were fun until Just Dance 2016 came.
Just Dance 2021's tracklist is bad... but Just Dance 2022 did get better tracklist.
Ikr the world dance foot one got me so mad
For me, just dance 2019 is a great game and I squeezed it out a lot after my absence since after Just Dance 4. The bad thing that just dance 2020 arrived and suddenly I lost interest again. I took the one from 2021, but I did not save the saga for me and I have decided not to buy the just dance 2022 onwards
THE JUST DANCE 2022 TURNED THE GAME AROUND NO WAY YOU WONT BUY IT
THEY SOLVES LIKE 2/3 OF THE PROBLEMS HERE IN JD 2022
brooooo you NEED JD2022. It’s SOOOO good!
I quite enjoy 2020 and 2022 i agree with 2021,2017,2018,2019 being childish and what not like 2021 arguabley was the worst year yet honestly 2022 Has Left the childish topic with alot more songs that include swearing on clean

Lately I find myself playing older songs, (Which is not often because I don’t play Just Dance often), My most recently played song Is Teenage Dream, An old song, I also tried Birthday again because on my actual birthday I wanted to do it but when I tried it a few days before my birthday, I learned the detection on Birthday wasn’t working as it should, I was doing the moves perfectly fine but I kept getting “Super, Good, Ok”, When I tried it again in 2021 The detection was, as expected, still not working correctly (This is on Nintendo Switch btw), But I still got SuperStar so I’m okay with it
I like Kulikitaka by the way, It’s cute, I don’t find the coach to fit the song very well, but it’s cute
so what you're saying is that you think that they're running out of ideas.
I think that's pretty much the main point of the video so I agree with you
I loved the visuals for the backgrounds in just dance 2016 honestly
Land of 1000 dances is one of my favourites 😂😂
The only thing I want back in the game is are these: (though Ubisoft might not listen)
1. A legitimate On-Stage Mode
2. Battle Mode
3. Less Childish Maps
4. Less Kpop songs
"jUsT dAnCe iS bErI cHiLdiSh 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭"
We should all share this video to Ubisoft to understand what they are making rn to downgrade the game every year
To be honest, I don't think they will listen because it's Ubisoft and there's a 50% change of them listening to their fans, especially Just Dance fans but there is one way for them to listen and that is to share this video as much as possible
I like new dances in their own way of being so difficult but different but it's just very fancy
but wait...why didin't you mention about quick play
"Newer just dance maps have childish coaches" *shows baby shark*
I think the old ones are ok. The newer ones are okay too. I honestly like both, it just depends on the song.
One thing I do miss is the unlimited avatars, in 2016/2017 and Now have like really detailed avatars
4:14: "I do not think new Just Dance games are bad."
Thumbnail: [Just Dance 2022] BAD
I agree with you but 2021 was better than 2016 through 2020!!!
I feel like every game had a different up different score boards like those floating circles in jd2 and 3 but the new uis are all the same and haven’t changed
New songs can’t really be nostalgic so I don’t think it’s really fair to call the older game modes better because of it
i understand why party master was removed but i miss mashups so much
just wanna say that map in rare is just for grown ups it looks like a 90s painting and the ougit I love it
