Tbh, as a Vocaloid fan, the way Ubisoft has handled Vocaloid songs has been more than disappointing. Firstly, they don't credit musicians properly. They credit the music to Hatsune Miku herself. This is incorrect. Miku is an instrument. Not an artist. For example, songs like Tell Your World (a song that was featured in the Japanese version of one of the JD games) should be credited like this: kz (livetune) ft. Hatsune Miku. I agree with you, and those songs has also, great original coreos. I think "World is Mine" could fit better if they use the "Project Diva" Version, but remastered, cause there are a lot of parts of the song that can have gold moves, specially in the last verse of its.
i love a lot of these! i felt wierd seeing them credit miku for a song that was only having her as an instument...and idk which JD was that in. they could have just relearned the mirai/concert dance moves for most of them, so it could be a bit easier for the choreographers.
JD 2019 & 2020 burn my eyes. Let's stop with the neons, pretty please. I'm gonna be honest, I'm like 74% sure that 2019 and 2020 are the reason I need glasses 🙈
I do feel like the games have gotten worse. Mainly because of the choice of song choices. It used to be diverse with songs from different times and countries. Now it’s mostly modern, popular songs and some meme songs. I miss dancing to the oldies. 2019 and 2020 felt more like they wanted to appeal to the current generation instead of all of them. But I do agree with you on the other stuff
I think JD peaked in overall quality between JD 3 & JD 2015. The games slowly decreased from JD 2016 onwards but didnt become noticably bad until about JD 2019. I would die for chorographies like what we had in JD 4 or JD 2014
My main gripe has nothing to do with the choreos. My problem is that Just Dance doesn’t seem to be adventurous anymore. It’s focusing less on having a variety of modes and more on Unlimited. I have no problem with Just Dance pushing Unlimited, but when you push it so much that modes like Mashups, Simon Says, Battle Mode, and others are forgotten about, then there’s a problem. Sure, All Stars Mode was fine, but it was essentially just playing 10 songs in a row just like normal.
The one thing that I don't like is that the more popular songs seem to have the easier Choreos, and the songs that nobody knows have the better choreos :/
The thing with just dance is sometimes people forget it's not JUST for people who see doing dance as a regular hobby or actually wish to go into dancing, it's mostly for people who buy it and have innings with families, or partners, and play it during those special events. That's the reason why choreos have gotten more repetitive, as it's gotten more accessible to the public. What i've noticed, in hindsight, looking at just dance 2023, a lot of the choreography has stepped up in difficulty, and while a difficult choreography is pretty much unable to feel repetitive, it's also sort of made the game less accessible to the public? There were always difficult choreographies but there were also always easy ones to balance them out. When someone wants to do an easy choreography in just dance 2023 there are very little to actually choose from - most notable ones being Magic, Physical and Can't stop the feeling - and even then, Can't stop the feeling and other songs like sweet but psycho and if you wanna party can get old really quickly.
@@xjessed- Yeah but 'easy' choreographies now are what would be considered 'hard' and 'medium' before, and a perfect example of this is 'Part of me', which was originally an extreme difficulty, but in modern just dance was changed to be an easy difficulty
Hi everyone. I'm sorry for what I said in my last comment. To tell you the truth, Just Dance has been the only thing that really satisfies myself during this time of lockup right now.
I, personally, am still mourning the loss of the Battle Mode. Some of the newer songs would fit together perfectly, and having Battles again would help to flesh out the more repetitive choreography. Maybe introduce some fusion dance moves and rivalries. Thank you to Just Dance 4 and 2014 for your excellent contributions.
As someone who has only played like 2 of the games and has watched a lot of just dance songs, I think they all have been repetitive but I also think that's the point. People might just now be noticing or its a problem of seeing your favorite games that you played as a kid in a higher light than the new that you're playing as an adult. Rose colored glasses to make it short. Into The Unknown however I believe is the worse offender of repetitive. Like that choreography is bad but the extreme version of Talk is amazing
Ubisoft somewhat messed up the world dance floor in Just Dance 2021 which only has tournaments but also has a nice addition of rooms that basically 3 difficulties of world dance floor believe it or not like fierce deer were sometimes there are 2 or more extremes in a row and sometimes uses more "harder" routine, introduced a quickplay mode which is a revamped Non-stop shuffle with a skip button on the pause menu to skip a song that you are currently playing and choosing random songs after finishing a song with a push of a button, the choreos in this game are slightly less repetitive, and the first game in the main series (if not counting the spin offs) to not be officially available on the Wii (A console that the first game in the franchise started) and also not officially available on 7th gen consoles instead if you want to play Just Dance games on a 7th gen console, either modify it or download the fangames and mods which is probably for the best seeing that the 7th gen versions of Just Dance 2016 to 2020 were watered down but decent ports and you don't have to buy the 7th gen versions in full price.
You didn't talk about battle mode, I used to have a lot of fun playing that mode with my friend. I got so upset finding out that JD 2015 didn't have this great feature! :/
Yea, the dances in 2014-2017 were harder I will say. Especially the extremes. Reason being, I'm learning the newer just dance choreos faster than the ones I just mentioned Another possibility could be that I'm getting better at remembering the dances and getting them down faster tho. And yea, this is just my opinion....
Yeah, the choreographies are getting more repetitive and they make new moves to lack in gracious pretty quickly, this also makes good song go to waste because of the repetitive choreos. There should be an alternative option to dance a simplified version of a choreo and other to play the complete if JD team is scare of "making choreos to complex to play and then not have fun". Take risk godammit!
I feel like an echo chamber, but I’m probably going to just say what a lot of people are saying. I don’t think the Just Dance games are getting worse in terms of graphics, costumes, and “themes” of dances: I think they’re gotten VERY creative with those. I think this may come from the fact that I’m a little older (I’ve been playing Just Dance since I was twelve or something) but somebody mentioned it: the dances have always been repetitive, but the longer you play the game, the more obvious it becomes. At the same time, I also do think that the repetitiveness has increased as well, which is why it’s so noticeable and feels easier (I also dance, so the only ones that I find challenging are the extremes: I LOVE the extremes). I’m also not a huge fan of some of the song choices; I feel like some of them are picked because they’re current, not necessarily for their danceability. Sometimes I look at some of the songs and I’m like “Why are you here?” All in all, I think the game is starting to shift to the current generation and time, so that’s why a lot of people feel the way that they do (me included). But if you’re like...8 playing this game, you probably wouldn’t really notice what everyone is seeing and think this game is the best thing on the planet.
Simon Says mode in Just Dance 3 was my absolute favourite! And the battle dances in Just Dance 4 were so much fun too. I wish they would bring them back!
I love the intensive and extreme choreographies. I just love challenging myself. I have danced the simple ones as well but they are pretty easy to memorize. I hope they keep adding difficult ones.
JD 2014 is probably my fav game because I grew up with it and played it all the time during parties at this one gymnastics place and it had really good songs in my opinion
It all went down hill after just dance 2017. 2018 and 2019 were a mess and the song choices were honestly questionable imo. Like 2018 had so many sexual songs
I think the reason why the choreo got more repetitive is because a lot of young children (including me) were playing the originals and thought that they weren't good at dancing when the dances were just too hard for them. (That was at least the case for me.) And then stop dancing because they would think that they would fail all the time.
I can't believe you didn't mention that Just Dance 4 gave us dance battles!!! Those were so much fun and they should have kept it going for the newer games.
Your Actually wrong. 2020 have one of the best choreo but yeah 2016 to 2019 are thé worst just dance. Ans its aslo one of the just dance that have the most of known music
To be honest I really dont like now how the more well known pop songs have very bland chores and background while the songs that are not much that known have great choreo and background.
I remember I stopped losing interest in the series after the OG first 5 games (that’s 1,2, Greatest Hits, 3, and 4) but now that I’ve been using these games to work out, (and am LOVING it) I think I might actually go ahead and try to get the other games too
I Think Just Dance 3 Has The Best Coaches Such as Take on me Hey Boy Hey Girl and Party Rock anthem Which is why Just Dance 3 is my favorite Just Dance Game
for my take on choreographies from JD2016 and past that, the JD2016 choreos were actually...much harder for me with most, but since that game, the routines have been noticeably easier for me game to game i dont really care how repetitive the choreos are, but they've just been getting easier since JD2016 for me
My personal opinion is the song lists are getting worse. Currently, it just new pop songs and really unknown songs. I think there should be some more older songs from the 80s/90s/00s. For example, the only older song I can think of in jd2020 is backstreet’s back. If they split the difference between pop, foreign, hip hop and older songs it would be more enjoyable. One a positive note I really love the graphics, coaches and backgrounds this year, they’re so beautiful!
I've seen no one talk about this, but can we talk about how the color schemes for the coaches have been getting uglier and uglier? What happened to cohesion? Compare Crucified to Mad Love. Ubisoft needs to learn that 5 different shades of neons per coach just...isn't appealing
Anybody know why they got rid of mashups?! They were my favorite mode cuz it made me curious of who would show up or who I haven’t seen before! Hopefully it’s a general reason and not just removed for nothin 🤷♂️
You forgot to mention the battle mode they had in just dance 4 and honestly they should bring it back and make it so you can go against other players if you wanted to

@@liz_violet I think in Just Dance 2016 there is Ieva polka credited to hatsune miku
Edit : forgot the year
Mark: jd 2015 brought nothing lol
Community Remix: Am I a joke to you?
JD 2019 & 2020 burn my eyes. Let's stop with the neons, pretty please. I'm gonna be honest, I'm like 74% sure that 2019 and 2020 are the reason I need glasses 🙈
The thing is that old gen isn't supported anymore, which was really sad for me since I have xbox 360, but I understand why they did that
Just Dance 4, 2014, 2016 were the best year of just dance hands down.
I love just dance to death but holy hell the choreography in the newer games absolutely RUIN the games for me. It gets boring.
The bot has over 50 ways to say ‘choreos’
Ikr
All Stars mode was pretty forgettable, I completed the entire thing in one session and then promptly forgot it existed until now lmao
The one thing that I don't like is that the more popular songs seem to have the easier Choreos, and the songs that nobody knows have the better choreos :/
I love JD 2016 it’s more exiting and I played it when I’m little! I think JD 2016 is the best! ( My Opinion )
Nah there are more easy choreos than hards and extremes combined i think
@@xjessed- Yeah but 'easy' choreographies now are what would be considered 'hard' and 'medium' before, and a perfect example of this is 'Part of me', which was originally an extreme difficulty, but in modern just dance was changed to be an easy difficulty
@@chibitea1803 yeah maybe
I need a 1 hour loop of that robot voice saying choreos 😂
Hi everyone. I'm sorry for what I said in my last comment. To tell you the truth, Just Dance has been the only thing that really satisfies myself during this time of lockup right now.
I dont think the siri voice can say choreos right
I mean...
*Ka eros*
I’ve ditched the series after 2017. Just Dance 1-2016 (except 2015) are all amazing and tbh, the only games really worth it.
omg true, i forgot about it 😔
So I was sleeping in my parents room the notification scared everyone
Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yea, the dances in 2014-2017 were harder I will say. Especially the extremes.
Reason being, I'm learning the newer just dance choreos faster than the ones I just mentioned
Another possibility could be that I'm getting better at remembering the dances and getting them down faster tho. And yea, this is just my opinion....
i actually love the new 2019 and 2020 menu, its easier to look at and more aesthetic imo!
to answer your question, NO! At least, not in my book.
Take risk godammit!
nobody:
the text to speach: cotroes
still the text to speech says choreo like ka-o-rows pisses me off
If only jd2020 had the quest
bby zena Yes!!
My fav is just dance 2019 but the menu is intresting
I love the Just Dance games! But, I wish they wouldn’t do covered versions!
Oh, and I don't know if Gold Moves should get into the topic, but the best one (in my opinion) is JD2017's. It's so beautiful!
Just Dance 2 and 3 where part of my childhood and they were the best, hands down!!
I love every game. They’re all good!
(FIGHT ME!)
*fights*
Simon Says mode in Just Dance 3 was my absolute favourite! And the battle dances in Just Dance 4 were so much fun too. I wish they would bring them back!
no one:
the voice thing: cho-er-ohs
*CAUGHT ARROWS*
3:02 technically in JD4 it was called puppet master mode and it was changed to PARTY master mode in the other games
I think JD has gotten better all of the departments beside chores there somewhat have gone boring to play sometimes but its still fun
Well gameplay also has also gotten worse because in JD 2018 they took out all the modes that we loved
@@nagakammula1482 Very true
Well the coaches and choreographies on the upcoming Just Dance 2021 look awesome 😎
And most of all, the best was just dance REDOO.
Omg the thumbnail is iconic the quality popped off
I think it’s just our expectations are higher
the robot saying car-ay-ohs
I hate that we have to P A Y for songs now
Short and sweet answer: absolutely
I think the reason why the choreo got more repetitive is because a lot of young children (including me) were playing the originals and thought that they weren't good at dancing when the dances were just too hard for them. (That was at least the case for me.) And then stop dancing because they would think that they would fail all the time.
I can't believe you didn't mention that Just Dance 4 gave us dance battles!!! Those were so much fun and they should have kept it going for the newer games.
Just Dance 2018 is my favorite
Ironically, I am playing Just Dance 2017 quests.
Your Actually wrong. 2020 have one of the best choreo but yeah 2016 to 2019 are thé worst just dance. Ans its aslo one of the just dance that have the most of known music
in my opinion 2017 to 2019 are the worst
but chiwawa-
@@nyelvbabycakes version barbie?
To be honest I really dont like now how the more well known pop songs have very bland chores and background while the songs that are not much that known have great choreo and background.
JD2015 brought the VS mode against bots, friends and your own scores.
I miss the less repetitive choreos ubi should bring them back
THANK YOU FOR MAKING VIDEOS DURING QUARENTINE I AM SO BORED
"I wish Ubisoft adds better choreos"
Just Dance 2021 with the official choreo of Feel Special and songs with good choreos: what's up?
I remember I stopped losing interest in the series after the OG first 5 games (that’s 1,2, Greatest Hits, 3, and 4) but now that I’ve been using these games to work out, (and am LOVING it) I think I might actually go ahead and try to get the other games too
Just dance 2014 was the best one... FIGHT ME!
Just dance 2018 choreo’s dont seem repetitive until you play automaton that only has like 6 moves
I Think Just Dance 3 Has The Best Coaches Such as Take on me Hey Boy Hey Girl and Party Rock anthem Which is why Just Dance 3 is my favorite Just Dance Game
for my take on choreographies from JD2016 and past that, the JD2016 choreos were actually...much harder for me with most, but since that game, the routines have been noticeably easier for me game to game
i dont really care how repetitive the choreos are, but they've just been getting easier since JD2016 for me
3:55
Ubisoft: *Wish granted 0 wishes left* :)
i really liked the minimalistic design, idk maybe it's just me
same, i like minimalist designs too, but idk why when it comes to jd i wouldve prefered the older designs
I need my mashups back, thoses were the best
What are your thoughts on Women Like Me and X?
The moves were kinda repetitive still but X was fun to dance to IMO
I like the fact that when u said that they added nothing you say lol right after
*"cho eh rows"*
Anybody know why they got rid of mashups?! They were my favorite mode cuz it made me curious of who would show up or who I haven’t seen before! Hopefully it’s a general reason and not just removed for nothin 🤷♂️
Correction: Just Dance 2 added the race, sweat and dance battle mode
You forgot to mention the battle mode they had in just dance 4 and honestly they should bring it back and make it so you can go against other players if you wanted to
