    Very suited to older motorcycle riders. I have just sold my 200kg RE Interceptor loved that bike. But I found as I have got older I don't have the strength I had when I was younger and I often found that I got close to the tipping point when maneuvering back or just pushing it into position in the garage. My partner is much happier I am now going to be riding on three wheels to her it makes sense at my age. I'm sure there are a lot of older riders like me who just want to get from A to B without trying to break records. I have now become what I call a scenic rider I enjoy the views without pressure.

    Best review of the Tricity I've seen on TH-cam - thanks. Finally discovered what makes it a car (the 470 mm gap between front wheels). I'm in my early 60s, don't have a motorcycle license, started riding a scooter a few years back, but could do with a bit more speed. Thinking of buying a Tricity 155 in the spring months so I'll be able to get up to 80 or 90 km/h easily.

    I like it a lot... and everyone keeps forgetting one type of riders... The ones that have already a motorcycle, but see themselves with the need to take their kids to school... when the mum isn't so keen on two wheels. My case :)

    After 1.5 years on this Trike Using it all year but not tested in snow I can say I am impressed. Sod town riding get straight on the motorway like I do 5 days a week 44 miles round trip from Chesterfield to Ilkeston in any lane. Who the hell stops a bike with just the front brake, this has ABS, Traction control and 85mpg. I get off it stick all my riding gear under the seat walk round town in my underwire if needed. A guy and his son on TH-cam has done 250 miles a day for 5 days on a Tricity 300 and an R3. Work this one out then. A PLC programmer put his laptop under the seat, traveled Chesterfield to Cardiff round trip and claimed £0.45 a mile and gets paid for the job that’s 345 x 0.45 = £156.60. 345/85=4 gallons = £24. 2 guys on 1 tricity 300 did over 80 miles per hour on TH-cam. Add the storage option what currier or call out can you make money from with it.

    I love this bike .... I had a test drive on one ..... very confident riding it ....I don't have a full bike licence only a CBT licence. My only criticism would be .... it's underpowered ..... just put a 400cc engine in it. That would be a game changer due to the extra weight of the front wheels. Thanks

    Yes they're great for commuting but there's so much more to these machines and if you enjoy the thrill of riding without worrying about diesel spills and potholes plus the option to ride with or without a crash helmet this is a must have set of wheels.
    Ive got a piaggio mp3 300 and I'm already looking for another one most likely a tricity for the winter runs.

    I wonder why Yamaha is loaning press not-scooters to motorcycle reviewers if this is meant to compete with automobiles. They really should be loaning them to car reviewers since they're already licensed for it to prove how easy it is for cagers to get on with one.

    Great bike but insane pricing. The model to get is the 155. It has about 35% more torque and near 5 more horses than the 125 which to be honest shouldn't venture out of town due to the lack of power. The 155 will hit almost 80 mph ( eventually ) has fab low down torque, 60 kilos less than the 300 and ride away in NZ for £3000!

    • @stephenlennox6491

    • @FallNorth
      @FallNorth 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stephenlennox6491
      Might not be worth their while? From my research the 125 has a narrower front wheel gap so you can't drive it on a car license. The 300 is wider and you can. So if the 155 is same as 125, it'd be competing in same niche (bike license holders who want a 3 wheeled scooter) when they may not sell that many anyway. If it was car driver friendly, they should sell it here.

    • @rjo2020
      @rjo2020 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Not weird at all John! I've ridden many bikes, and once I tested this one I was hooked. It is well balanced. Weight is distributed approximately 50-50 front to back. It handles superbly, brakes very well, has plenty of storage space, and is a joy to ride. It clearly isn't for everyone, but for me the extra expense is worth the extra stability and road handling capabilities. Test ride one to see what I mean. I think it's only missing two things: 1) a glove box up front and 2) a slightly more powerful engine. Maybe a 400 cc would have been perfect for it. The Blue Core 300 engine has been tweaked by Yamaha to add a little bit of extra power to compensate for the extra weight, but coming from more powerful bikes I'd like just a bit more power than this one offers. Only for high speed passes. Nevertheless, I have ordered one of these.

    • @davidhardstaff8110
      @davidhardstaff8110 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Scooters are no safer than bikes. In fact generally they stop slower and don't have the power if you need it. However the Niken and these three wheeled scooters (tadpole set up) do have far more comparative front endgrip so arguably they are safer. Anticipation and observation are the key to staying sunny side up, and get some training

    • @stonemarten1400
      @stonemarten1400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One of the techniques to consider is called “invisible” riding, which basically means riding as if you are invisible to other road users, anticipating the possibility of car drivers moving out of junctions in front of you, for example. This trike would seem to be a good choice for stability on the road and riding for beginners.
