After seeing you two react to 100's of songs I can't help but be moved by Lex bopping to the Beach Boys while wearing a Megadeth shirt.

I agree. I think it's a hilarious juxtaposition considering their sound is heavily and mostly inspired by Christmas music. Mostly Phil Spectors Christmas album. If you listen to the song Christmas by Darlene Love off the Phil Spector album, you can definitely hear it.

Everything in this song is great! The harmonies, the lyrics, the guitars... anyway a true classic. Love the reaction as always. I am sure that Lex is a old soul from the 60s or something ♡

What Lex is feeling is exactly why this group is legendary. They took a moment in time and solidified
for ages to come. It feels like you enter this time portal and feel nostalgic even though you did not
exist at that time! I have no doubt their music will live on and on.

I actually did this song at an open mic one night. I usually do Folk or Folk/Rock songs. But when I did this song, most of the audience sang the chorus part along with me. Didn't really expect that but it was great and it just went to show how some music cuts through the genres and the ages. Great reaction.

My Fav group of all time .Grew up with them starting in 1962 with their first 45 single "Surfin". Saw them in concert in 1973 and again in 1998. Got to visit the Brothers Records warehouse/studio in California in 1975, appyling for roadie work. Cool. I am still rockin' at 73 today! Peace.

I was there too buddy. My wife and I listened and danced to them way back then when we were dating. We've been married 57 years now and still listen to them. I used to grin and smile when I listened to them. Now I tear up a bit due to sweet nostalgia.

A true classic from 1965. That was a very good year for the Beach Boys. In 1965 they had several hits including "California Girls", "Help Me Rhonda", "Do You Wanna Dance" and "Barbra Ann".

I grew up in that era where every kid picked up a guitar and tried to put together a garage band. I grew up about 5 miles from the Beach Boys (Hawthorne, CA). The brass ring in music seemed possible, and The Beatles in A Hard Days Night made it look so incredibly cool. And once in a while a genius appreared in a garage somewhere and magic happened. Case in point Brian Wilson.

My son was born in 1984 but alongside Nirvana and Slipknot he just loves anything from the late '60s and right through the '70s. He says it's because the musicianship is so much more interesting and varied. The bands from then, Beach Boys included weren't afraid of trying something new with chord progression and key choices in general. He's a bassist, so he does have a clue what he's talking about.

I saw Brian Wilson open for Chicago this summer. It was his 80th Birthday 🎂 and they had the whole stage decorated with balloons and the crowd sang Happy Birthday. Pretty cool! (It was my 20th Chicago concert, they always have top notch opening act)!

Brian (the main songwriter) also wrote some pretty incredible sad music! Like the Beatles, he got way psychedelic and artsy in the mid to late 60's! Some of the best BB music came from that era (great happy tunes as well...like Good Vibrations :) )!

Been a fan since 1964. These old surf music songs are great but they really took it to a different level after they dropped that sound. Pet Sounds, Our Prayer, Breakaway, I Can Hear Music, Surf’s Up, and that wacky Smiley Smile album is my favorite period.

About the same time, my father took my sister and I to a concert by them in Austin, and I was happy when they played this song. Probably the pop-iest concert I've ever been to, but I had fun.

      @Providence.. ปีที่แล้ว +2

Except for the ones we don't talk about, haha. Also, I don't think Kokomo is "crappy", it's not anything to really write home about, but it's catchy and a song a lot of people know. There's plenty of other songs (and a couple albums) in their discography that rightfully do deserve the title of "crappy" though.

Absolutely hilarious. I'm glad you guys got around to doing this, it is one of their classic songs and the thing is what you missed out on it's a sing-along. So back in the day you know everybody would sing along to that easy course Help Me Rhonda Help Help Me Rhonda another people would do the bow bow etc etc. But anyway Lex at the end, cracking me up man. Brad's like, come on man he's just being a straight shooter I mean what's wrong with that? At least he's being honest. You like okay I'll help you like let's go to the library. Lol lol lol lol lol
Man even better than this one although this one was so popular and it was a great sing along and the girls loved it for some reason, you've got to check out another very popular one and it's called, fun fun fun till her daddy took the T-Bird away.. T-bird meaning of Thunderbird automobile obviously yeah

The Beach Boys were three brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, cousin Mike Love and buddy Al Jardine. The Brain of the group Brian would eventually stop touring and they brought in Bruce Johnston to feel the void. Brian Wilson would have many set backs mentally in his life which would be so serious he became bedridden but would ultimately find his way back to a somewhat normal life.🙏💙
