I refer to this tutorial over and over again when I’m doing bias binding! Thank you.

Thanks Riley! I've sewn clothing and art dolls, etc. all my life. I don't quilt but decided to make appliqued pillows for holiday gifts. I thought of buying bias tape for the edging 'cause that's what I know from 60 odd years ago. This pillow will be done following your instructions.

I love your videos...new way to finish a pillow and it surely beats using bias-covered cording. I'd love to see more videos like this as well as clothing items like the sunhat.

Just what I need! I wanted piping on the edge, but using binding is soooo much better. Thank you so much!

Love that cushion design and binding!
I just made two quilt tops and just about to quilt them and most of the fabrics in these are Riley Blakes too. ☺️ I was just thinking on what kind of binding to put on these cushion covers, and your advice was helpful. Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial! 🌼 😃

I wish I had seen this video earlier today because I just made a pillow with beautiful fabric but I felt like it still needed something only I didn't know what; the fact that I put in a zipper on the bottom seam complicated what I could do around the edges. I will definitely do this with my next pillow, though!

Beautiful block. Did you have a tutorial / pattern for this block? I know how to make the Dresden plate I'm just wondering if you had something for that circle applique?

A very clear tutorial! It’s the one I will use for binding my pillow. Can you please tell me about the small ruler you used when you got to the end of sewing on the binding to the project? Thanks a million. Pat

Wish you showed the overlap back. Doing this method, how do you determine the each side of the back fabric. For a standard size bed pillow Single fabric and the double folded fabric backing.

Typically, for an envelope pillow, you will cut two pieces of fabric - To get the right measurement, take the height and divide by 2. Then add about 3". The width will be the same as the width of the pillow. So for an 18" pillow, I would cute two 12" x 18" pieces of fabric. On the envelope end, just turn the edge under 1/4", then press, then turn under 1/4" again and top stitch. Do this on both pieces for finished edges. Of course, the exact measurements can vary based on how you like your pillows to look. You can do a search for DIY envelope pillow for many variations.

Hi Dottie, we made this ironing mat using a piece of plywood, batting, and fabric. We layered the batting and fabric and stapled them to the back. Super easy and useful for our small space!

So as I understand this, you don’t sew and turn your top and bottom...instead, you sew wrong sides together, baste, then do a binding? Easy, peasy! Tfs. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
