and on top of that make the switching like demon slayer also where you need to hold down the button to switch that would eliminate the leader switch glitches
Team names were so nice to see and just a fun touch to the game that showed the love they put into it. seeing it removed in storm four was really unnecessary for no reason I would love to see it back
Well, it got trivial because for several games, the "Hidden Sand Village/Natives" was bugged and would be counted as "Originals". And certain names they didn't consistently carry over like "Sweet Tooth Duo" in Generations by picking older Temari and Anko was just called "Originals" in Storm Revolution.
What Storm Connections *needs very much* is a redo of Part 1's Story. The addition of Zabuza/Haku and the Sound 4 should allow them to add them as proper boss battles in the story. I would be sorely disappointed if they start the story in the Chuunin Finals and skip half of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc *again.*
I agree with your opinion in most of the subjects but honestly, for me Storm 1 will remain the most Unique one from the series and the closest to the anime itself because of the very dynamic gameplay features, my reasons: Intro of characters before the encounter, unique jutsus that didn't came back to the other Storm games, longer and diverse movesets for almost any character, Awakenings in Storm 1 have also Ultimate Jutsus, Jutsus Clashes and Wall Fighting... and I can go on and on to state it why Storm 1 gameplay was the most unique one from the Storm Series, just try to Imagine Storm 4 gameplay with Storm 1 gameplay features, In my opinion that will be the Perfect Storm game. The First Storm game has the most Unique gameplay features perspective and the particular presentation of the game was so ahead of it's time in my opinion, the only downside of the first Storm game was the very lacking Story Mode Interactions, and from Storm 3 the developers cut and shortned the movesets of characters, that's why I don't agree with their choices. (By the way, my favourite Storm games and I will put them in my personal order will be: 1.Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 and Generations. (these have my favourite vibe and charm of the anime itself because of the dynamic gameplay features) 2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2( for the unique Story and some Unique Boss Battles and let's not forget that Iconic "Calm Before the Storm" OST from the Characters Selection Screen and many more diverse soundtracks) 3. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (Because of the more well-rounded diverse Story Perspective and very epic Boss Battles and also the soundtrack "Outside Konoha" and others soundtracks as well) 4. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (mostly because of the unique option to change/switch between your characters team during the fight, this particular option mechanics should've been already in the game from the very first Storm game in my opinion) 5. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (because of the abused and annoying Counter mechanic) ☯️🤷🏻♂️
Played all Storm games throughout my childhood and i really hope Kurenai finally becomes a playable character as we ended up getting the Sound Four in Storm4
All opinions are appreciated and I appreciate your perspective as well Globku, I definitely agree with My Hero's netcode being good, I wouldn't mind if CC2 used that same netcode too :) When it comes to mechanics, we believe that infinites are intentional, CC2 have nerfed / buffed stuns on characters over the years, knowing full well what we do in these combos. Infinite combos are definitely not a problem due to the subs, having 4 subs allow players to think of good sub management 👌

In regards to the few last points, from the view of a long time (and some would say unhealthy amount of time) player of the Storm series: 1. Infinite Combos I've never been much of a fan of "true infinite combos" as they were initially referred to. Those being combos like the one showed here by Gaara. As in, he can keep it forever as he use no resources to extend his combos. However there are also "infinite combos" which are referred to as such, despite them being limited. They are often referred to as such because they are "functionally infinite" or can be extended extremely far. An example of this would be something like Danzo jump cancelling his combo and throwing a Tag item in mid air to extend the stun duration from his last hit into a new combo when he lands. These types of "infinite combos" should stick around, given that they aren't actually infinite (each character has on average 2 tags, with some having 4.) They cannot be repeated an infinite amount of time, but they can be used to extend a combo. Because of this, if the user who tries to do it fails to time it they might just waste a resource. Likewise the target of such a combo can time their sub to catch the the opponent off-guard with a sub that doesn't reposition them behind the opponent. These types of combos would include any that extends themselves using any resource, be that an item, a support gauge or chakra. Like Orochimaru using his Storm 1 Jutsu at the end of a combo-chain and then cancelling it right before it knocks the enemy away to begin a new combo. They come with risks, and as such should be rewarded if used correctly. "True Infinite Combos" however does not come with any risks, and shouldn't be in the game. 2. "Switch Tech" or Support Cancelling I've always, since day one of Storm 4 referred to the act of switching characters at the correct time to cause the player to not consume chakra as a bug. That being said... I've met more people than I can count on my hands and feet that are of the opinion that its a "intended feature". I still think its a bug, specifically because it worked differently in the past and was somewhat "fixed" through a patch in the early days of Storm 4. Meaning that CC2 made some effort to try and fix it, even if they did fail. On top of that you can see that the game is clearly struggling to understand what's going on as it will first lower your chakra by the expected amount, before increasing it back up as you swap characters. As if the game thought it did a mistake. However I don't think it should be ENTIRELY removed. That is to say I still think we should be able to do an action, swap characters and have the initial character finish their action before leaving the field, just that we should still lose the same amount of chakra as we would've done otherwise. Since doing that is a form of pseudo substitution and can get out of attacks or combos. It can also be used to entirely negate certain attacks with incredible tracking, as it will track the initial character that was active when the attack was used, like Hashirama's Shadow Shuriken. 3. Character Balancing after Tournament Rules I do think that certain Tournament Rules have a point to them, though others are far more of a biased nitpick and should never be considered from a developer standpoint. Both because they are biased nitpicks, but also because they take away from a core concept of games like Storm. Which is the flair and visual of it all. Imagine if Itachi didn't have Susano'o in his awakening, and it was just Storm 1's version of it. It would kinda ruin the visual of it all. Even though I really dislike his Perfect Susano'o Awakening, I still think it should be in the game as it isn't objectively overpowered or problematic, I just don't personally like it. Likewise I don't think Six Paths Madara Awakening is problematic, or good for that matter. It is EXTREMELY easy to force someone to waste it on. You can easily wait it out while taking minimal damage. Which is true for a lot of Awakenings, and in most of them you really should just avoid them until it runs out. (Unless its a giant one, like a Susano'o. That thing you can mostly just Ultimate Spam until people run out of Subs because they are too focused on being aggressive to entertain the idea of you fighting back.) I do think commonly banned characters like Pre-Storm 4 Adult Kakashi should be fixed though. As the reason he is banned isn't because of personal bias, but because he has extremely buggy hitboxes. The same goes for Temari. With cases like Tayuya it would kinda require a full rework of her character. As she is played in the extremely toxic manner that she is because any other way is so extremely bad a random Konoha Jonin would have a better shot at beating Six Paths Madara in a straight up fight. I don't entirely agree with the "Only 1 Awakening per fight" idea. I agree with in concept, just not the exact nature of it. From a developer standpoint, it shouldn't be that limiting and they have already tried different ways of limiting it, like giving a debuff when it runs out or decreasing the amount of health you can have remaining when it goes off. Or in the case of some Awakenings, entirely screwing you when they run out (like 8th Gate Guy in a Solo Match). What I do think is that Awakenings should be limited. Like say for example, every time you use an Awakening in a match and it runs out, you lose a set amount of max chakra that you can have for the rest of that match, not round, match. So if you say... Use Awakening 3 times in the first round of a "Best of 5", you'll then have decreased max chakra amount for the next 2-3 rounds. Meaning you can get away with it if you are good enough, but you will also severely limit yourself if you spam it too much. It would also be thematic. As for Dash Cuts. I do think they are kinda "eh". They are boring, sure, but they aren't game breaking. There are numerous ways around, and heck you can even exploit it by using a support jutsu that fires a projectile, then dash to get the Dash Cut support out in the open and let it be hit by your Support Jutsu. Causing it to linger on the ground for far longer, not to mention that if you time it correctly you can hit the Dash Cut support frames before you would dash into it and instead you dash straight at the target. Though I'd argue that the most sane "balance" to do to it would to remove it and make the current "Charge Guard" type the only "Guard" type support. As it requires timing to use properly.
The best take, even if I personally disagree on switch tech being taken out/adjusted. I'm of the opinion that yes, as is it's a bug... But it should be an intended feature. Another aspect for neutral game.

Nah fax they need to let you make your own combos bruh let their be the basic combos and (yk add more combos with fancy animations it's your last shot to do this go out with a bang also bring back the side combo but well make it where you can do combos with at least 2 buttons (should be like 4 cuz yk it's a controller but this game gotta come out in 4- years most likely 2- years but shit if you need 4 years to add everything and make everything work and improve on the previous game)
This game looks like an upgraded Storm game, so I doubt the general gameplay will change that much, But I do hope they pull back on the hard knockdowns. Near all combos and special moves end in a hard knockdown, which feels stiff in these days. I guess it was for the knockback system, but still, near everything being a hard knockdown is old and forced gaming in this age.
Not really. It's easy to say it's just Circle, but it's really not. You have Circle+Left Stick(up, down, left, and right). You then have Switching in Partners to continue combos. You have Throwables(Kunai). You have Chakra Rush. You have throws. You have counters. etc. On top of all the Tech, every button already has a use, so I wouldn't want to tie multiple functions to a single button.
@@Sir_Slimbread i mean combos are one button, not the whole game clearly. Character be releasing the power of god and all they learned while the player is just mashing circle, it feels super wack and unresponsive. Square and triangle would make it feel a bit better at least.
I think having a sort of xenoverse-esque combo system could be pretty fun, having 2 Buttons and having different Button chains do different things for you, i don't know anything about demon slayer but if that's what you mean then hell yeah, although making new combos for the whole cast is a bit insane, but maybe they could tie the old combos to this New System and give them different properties... it's not gonna happen but it would be very fun.
I don't think switch tech should be removed. It gives the game more depth and you can do a lot more with it than just not waste chakra during a dash. However, I would like to see it actually correctly implemented in the game and having it use some sort of resource. But I doubt we're going to get any changes. I hope I'm wrong, but I highly doubt that CC2 and Bandai Namco are going to put the effort into improving the game in any meaningful way.

- Guard Break is a rechargeable gauge instead of 2 uses - Music Select before picking a stage - Leaf Village at Night stage - Awakenings have Ultimates again (Awakening time is shortened if an Ultimate hits)
Remove guard break attack altogether. It invalidates characters who were given Power Mochi that was supposed to increase guard damage from attacks. It's also overkill because we got chip damage and are stunned when the guard is broken. It's too gimmicky and rewards the stronger characters just for being.
They need to bring back side combos and not just have up down and neutral combos. Give some characters even more variety. And for substitutes I feel it would be cool if there was a substitute mechanic that was added that uses 2 bars but counters to be able to go into your own combo like a reversal of sorts.
Here's a another suggestion. If they are going to keep the round system then both players health and resources need to be fully replenished at the start of the next round. Or remove the round system entirely like we had before. Also, allow the knock back counters to decrease chakra bar capacity down permanently until the next round. I'm fine with them in the game but nobody should be able to do this for free all the time. If you can't replenish the bar next round like everything else, remove it entirely. That's all I got.
Naaah I admit I loved team names especially the ones white characters that never interacted like fuu ans kakuzu. Bit yeah I am looking mostly for New characters and New jutsu and movesets like tsunade deserve a New ultimate and her regeneration jutsu as her awakening !
I agree with all the gameplay mechanics needing to get fixed except infinites; infinites allow you to go into combo into ults which are very important and plus you have subs,so you won’t be in it forever.
Sub mechanic is what makes storm unique. For me not having subs makes the game somewhat boring. For example, in Demon Slayer it feels like its just neutral until someone catches the other and then just wait for the best combo to finish - rinse and repeat. There is no fighting, rather a rock-paper-scissors of who will catch the other one first.
They can revamp it but not totally remove it. As it stands now, it doesn't give cc2 any incentive to make combos less janky like giant awakenings or overpowered like Sage Hashirama.
As someone who grew up on fighting game single player mode and has 0 fg fan friends I will always prefer single player stuff like stages, modes, characters, attacks, and items/cosmetics over multiplayer focused things like netcode and balance

I just want character interactions to come back. They've only been in the first Storm game and never again. And also the ability to turn off that cutscene thing when you K.O. someone with a ultimate jutsu.
Yo amend the “too many stages already” issue, they could just compress all the stages to have different variants. For example all the Hidden Leaf village stages could go under one slot and we select what version of the stage we want, and time of day.
What I would love to see is selectable transformations for characters and an optional mode where you play connections but with revolutions mechanics (awakening, ultimate, support drive)

6:36 You can actually still deal damage to them while they are in this glitched state, so you can actually win both rounds if the first round you just wait for time after making sure they got less health, and in the second round you can just damage them whilst keeping them stuck!
Well... if you want to be REALLY technical, ARMS is an arena fighter and had rollback netoce... 6 years before FighterZ had it, so... I think I should not get ahead at myself and say it won't be such a game. Specially taking in mind Harada's latest interview about Tekken 8's netcode.
You underestimate how important those small details really are. A lot of games are absolutely made or broken by their trivial small details. Does eating and drinking from your fridge in mafia 2 do literally anything at all? Not really. But am I furious that it wasn't in mafia 3 and consider mafia 2 the better game pretty much only because 3 didn't have stuff like that? Your damn right I do. Small details matter don't disregard them.
Personally am not a fan of 1 awakening per game, cuz while I 100% agree that something like Rinnegan Madara or Limbo Madara should be restricted to one use per game... you also have some awakenings like Sharingan Sasuke (PTS) that doesn't leave as much of an impact and restricting it to one use per game might as well gimp the character overall. So personally I think that an awakening category would be nice, where certain awakening that are essentially game changers should be limited to one use per game while others should be spammable (with the awakening CD that's currently present in Storm 4 ofc)
I need to see Jutsu Clashes and wall battles . Characters should have the option to stay in awakening with new Movesets if the awakening is a tailed beast or susano or any gigantic monster they should be timed . But four tails Naruto , one tails Naruto , CS2 Sasuke and the other sound ninja should All have new move sets once awakened and able to keep that form like in storm 1. A new guard break is good to . Give us the cinematic punches to the face that was in storm 1 when you see the impact of your fist clash with their face . It looked cool .
If awakenings get limited to once per match, then they're really gonna need to revamp a lot of characters. Some character's just have some straight up lame awakenings. Tsunade and Orochimaru are some of the first that come to mind
Orochimarus awakening should be updated to the 6 headed white snake that itachi sealed. Same with kaguya, she should awaken into 10 tails. No mask Obito should awaken the statue. Jugo needs to awaken into his full curse mark Etc etc the devs need to stop being lazy
You lost me at switch tech… and subbing…treat a fighting like a fighting game and everything will be alright.. infinites exist and other fighting games and you have to either wait for the combo to end, or drop… moral of the story it’s a blessing the fact that we can even SUB 😮
I would really like to see a the storm 3 system of flicking right stick to transform return, it’s cool to switch forms whenever you want mid fight. And on that note I think it would be cool for some characters with multiple transformations to be able to select different forms at the start of the match like selecting Justus in storm 4
A side of not having these things so far that I really want like 3 or 4 health bars so we can have instinct awakens again and Awakening ultimate jutsus but the thing Storm games really need is edo Itachi with a taijutsu/susanoo move set we desperately need that
Dash cut definitely needs to be adjusted, but I don't agree with the total removal of a defensive support type if we're going to keep offensive ones. Offense vs. Defense, not Offense vs. More Offense. A lot of characters aren't built for rushdown, and even more are weak to it. If those characters suddenly got the God Touch-Up and were homogenized a little more, then the removal of Dash Cut would seem fair overall and not just within meta. But its issues are tied to the same issues many exploits are also tied to, janky leader switching.
I just bought Naruto storm 1-3 for 10$! I already had Storm 4 and now that Storm Connections is coming out soon, I might get that as well but it depends if it changes a lot because from what I’ve seen it’s basically a updated Storm 4 with a little added content (I don’t really care about the new story tbh, it’s probably a trash new game original Boruto story).
I want the jutsu clashes back, they were so good and with so many characters now the possibility of multiple jutsu clashes are way bigger than the storm 1

not gonna lie, some of Globku's responses were kinda mean. I respect his opinions from a competitive standpoint, but I don't think Okami was concerned about that specifically and was more focused on *fun* than anything else which is also perfectly fine.
Oh no, fans of a series want more maps from the series... and we want something back from previous games? That doesn't make us entitled, that means that is what we value. The online scene for these games have always ended up dying relatively quickly, the only folks online nowadays are folks who are super into fighting games, folks looking for a nostalgia boost, or a mix of the two. Aside from that, many of the issues and bugs in these games are somewhat *why* the games are fun, with the exception of some trash. Character switch tech is not *that* bad, assuming you know what you're doing?? Of course some characters are going to be busted... you can't do a game like this and have Kid Sakura be the equivalent of SO6P Naruto & Sasuke... Not trying to be a dick here, but this whole video seems super out of touch with why these games were good to begin with. For all intents and purposes, Storm 4 is the Naruto version of Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
i dont know about you but storm like a lot of other people was my first online gaming experience. these games def dont die fast even storm revolution still has a player base. i def dont play these games for the story ive read and watched like 50 million times hell no.
I sincerely hope team Dosu is playable or atlwast himself. I know they where minor but his design and introduction has always stuck with me and I always wanted to play his abilities.
Just me that loved tilt awakenings? Even just a gamemode with them. Or a weaker version of awakening e.g naruto can tilt to go storm 3 chakra mode but if he awakens he can do the full 6paths or full kurma Link mode
They should bring back the old stages from past games in this game that would give this game more life and not die quick give us more options to choose from bandai

Substitutions aren't the biggest problem with the game and generally you can't just use them whenever you want, in high level play, since sub traps exist and is the skill gap. The worst thing i would say in terms of gameplay mechanics is: - The saving of the chakra after doing switch tech - How fast the storm gauge is after the switch to build up the storm drive for support types and free chakra it comes with

Y'know with what you said at 2:28, I was gonna hail mary by saying For Honor could serve as an example because "If a fighting game can have servers that provide seamless rollback to *eight people* at once, why can't a simple arena fighter with P2P do the same?". This was of course before I did the calculations and realised that the fastest normals in that game are 24 frames. It was also before I realised that, by looking it up, you'd actually played the game before *all the way back* in the beta. Neat. (I do sincerely hope someone has a real example though)

As a puppet master i just gotts say: please give us a buff or something. These characters are so trash. You cant combo swap with them and continue your combo. Why does awakenings just trump puppets in every way? It pretty much auto knocks the puppets down if you arent the puppet master comboing rhe awakened. We do no damage whatsoever. Ive had people just give up and let me repeatedly ult them because how little damage the puppets put out.
I hope that Storm Connections puts more work into the other characters. Like Sakura, Tsunade, Jiraya, Kushina and that they add Toneri, Fugaku Hagoromo and characters like that
video game companies want to make a lot of money and one of the best ways to do that is to please everyone, I think they will make a game that is accessible and competitive (but not too much) suddenly I think there will be enough changes in the gameplay
I personally want the game to feel different in some way. I’m not saying the devs should make a completely different game, but a fresh take on the Storm gameplay will go miles in my mind. Substitutions are a good mechanic, but I think it should be limited to either a set amount per round or reduce the amount a character can substitute before having to restore their bar. Also adding different combos to older characters so they feel fresh would be really cool.
Sure, I'll try to simplify it: Most fighting games of the past use peer-to-peer delay based netcode. Aka instead of two people connecting to a server, they connect to eachother. Delay based means, that the games are waiting to receieve information(button presses) from both parties before the action on screen occurs. If there is trouble with the connection, these games will "delay" the action until it recieves all the proper info from both parties. So this is why a game like smash, the game suddenly feels like it's moving in slow motion or outright freezes in place, online. What rollback does is instead of waiting to recieve information from both parties, it predicts the information. If the prediction ends up being wrong, it will correct the action you see on screen to be whatever the actual information is and that quick jump in animation/visual is called a rollback. It's rolling back, the action basically. This prediction isn't random either, so you end up with a highly accurate experience that allows two players to not feel as if their game isn't responding to their inputs, as they would with delay. It's not perfect ofcourse, and someone with a terrible connection or poor hardware is still going to create issues for their opponents, but it does make for a smooth experience for everyone else. The one caveat is, that it still needs to be implimented well to function correctly. Street Fighter 5 is an example a lot of people like to point to, as having bad rollback implimentation. Still better than delay based though.
I would like to see for some of the Storm 2 or Generations characters, reconfiguration of combos back because after they went to storm 3 they reduced it to lazy 3 combos, and some of the characters are missing the top ones…
Am I the only one that would love to bring some party/casual game elements back the storm games? I originally bought Storm 2 with the expectation of seeing jutsu clashes and wall fighting as in Storm 1. I was disappointed when I realized these elements had been removed from the game. If games like Smash can cater towards both player bases (casual and competitive) why not the storm games?
@@sxperiorluis that is just as bad. One option destroys the possibility of even trying to combo your opponent cuz the other person will just spam until the sub works, and having 2 subs makes getting caught even once incredibly deadly. It takes about 10 seconds for the bar to start regenerate if you only have two subs for the entire match it will be way more one sided when it comes to getting caught in a combo. It can already be hard enough managing 4 subs. If they were to removes a specific amount of subs it has to be 1 max. 3 subs is at least a little bit more manageable than 2
Fully agree with switch tech being a bug that somehow became the core of the game. It needs to be highly tweaked in order to make the game balanced. Personally, I would love it if they got rid of it completely as fixing it would mean having a very watered down mechanic that doesn’t add much depth to the game itself.
no I don't understand all the girls who want to take the switch tech without it you can catch someone the whole game I can run away what's the fun in that especially the girls who like to play either Minato or Dash Cut for me that's what makes the game better and I believe a lot of people kept playing because of that
@@meirhasdai747 firstly, I don’t know why u keep saying ‘girls’ in relation to running away, it doesn’t make any sense. In fact switch tech is what makes running away much much easier than dash cuts with jutsu buffer abuse. It’s way too spammy and a useable for its own good. There is no real cost to using it which and most glitches and bugs in the game are trigger by switching
I really hope Borushiki is his own character and not some sort of awakening for a karma Boruto. Maybe even get a time skip Boruto in there somehow, but I’m not even close to expecting it, just me hoping. That’s one of my main hopes

As someone who only plays the story mode and dont care about the online, I only need a couple of new characters, just a Lil update of visuals, and some new story shit.
Subs as they are later in the series needs balancing. At some point, if you have two good players against each other, it always boils down to either a game of rock paper scissors or whoever is playing the better character
Or whoever gets fucked by the game. I’ve had games like that that’ve ended because the game decided that I should sub twice in a row even though I clicked the button once. Or because the game decided that I should sub right back into place and get hit back into the combo I was trying to dodge and have to burn more subs just to do it right.
Ngl I want flick transformations to return as an option for all characters, Imagine using adult naruto and being able to switch from kcm1 or 2 to base instead of having to wait until you're at deaths door, and get killed after using it.

Well, it got trivial because for several games, the "Hidden Sand Village/Natives" was bugged and would be counted as "Originals". And certain names they didn't consistently carry over like "Sweet Tooth Duo" in Generations by picking older Temari and Anko was just called "Originals" in Storm Revolution.

What Storm Connections *needs very much* is a redo of Part 1's Story. The addition of Zabuza/Haku and the Sound 4 should allow them to add them as proper boss battles in the story. I would be sorely disappointed if they start the story in the Chuunin Finals and skip half of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc *again.*

I agree with your opinion in most of the subjects but honestly, for me Storm 1 will remain the most Unique one from the series and the closest to the anime itself because of the very dynamic gameplay features, my reasons: Intro of characters before the encounter, unique jutsus that didn't came back to the other Storm games, longer and diverse movesets for almost any character, Awakenings in Storm 1 have also Ultimate Jutsus, Jutsus Clashes and Wall Fighting... and I can go on and on to state it why Storm 1 gameplay was the most unique one from the Storm Series, just try to Imagine Storm 4 gameplay with Storm 1 gameplay features, In my opinion that will be the Perfect Storm game. The First Storm game has the most Unique gameplay features perspective and the particular presentation of the game was so ahead of it's time in my opinion, the only downside of the first Storm game was the very lacking Story Mode Interactions, and from Storm 3 the developers cut and shortned the movesets of characters, that's why I don't agree with their choices. (By the way, my favourite Storm games and I will put them in my personal order will be: 1.Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 and Generations. (these have my favourite vibe and charm of the anime itself because of the dynamic gameplay features)
2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2( for the unique Story and some Unique Boss Battles and let's not forget that Iconic "Calm Before the Storm" OST from the Characters Selection Screen and many more diverse soundtracks)
3. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (Because of the more well-rounded diverse Story Perspective and very epic Boss Battles and also the soundtrack "Outside Konoha" and others soundtracks as well)
4. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (mostly because of the unique option to change/switch between your characters team during the fight, this particular option mechanics should've been already in the game from the very first Storm game in my opinion)
5. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (because of the abused and annoying Counter mechanic) ☯️🤷🏻♂️
Played all Storm games throughout my childhood and i really hope Kurenai finally becomes a playable character as we ended up getting the Sound Four in Storm4

When it comes to mechanics, we believe that infinites are intentional, CC2 have nerfed / buffed stuns on characters over the years, knowing full well what we do in these combos. Infinite combos are definitely not a problem due to the subs, having 4 subs allow players to think of good sub management 👌

In regards to the few last points, from the view of a long time (and some would say unhealthy amount of time) player of the Storm series:
1. Infinite Combos
I've never been much of a fan of "true infinite combos" as they were initially referred to. Those being combos like the one showed here by Gaara. As in, he can keep it forever as he use no resources to extend his combos. However there are also "infinite combos" which are referred to as such, despite them being limited. They are often referred to as such because they are "functionally infinite" or can be extended extremely far. An example of this would be something like Danzo jump cancelling his combo and throwing a Tag item in mid air to extend the stun duration from his last hit into a new combo when he lands. These types of "infinite combos" should stick around, given that they aren't actually infinite (each character has on average 2 tags, with some having 4.) They cannot be repeated an infinite amount of time, but they can be used to extend a combo.
Because of this, if the user who tries to do it fails to time it they might just waste a resource. Likewise the target of such a combo can time their sub to catch the the opponent off-guard with a sub that doesn't reposition them behind the opponent. These types of combos would include any that extends themselves using any resource, be that an item, a support gauge or chakra. Like Orochimaru using his Storm 1 Jutsu at the end of a combo-chain and then cancelling it right before it knocks the enemy away to begin a new combo. They come with risks, and as such should be rewarded if used correctly. "True Infinite Combos" however does not come with any risks, and shouldn't be in the game.
2. "Switch Tech" or Support Cancelling
I've always, since day one of Storm 4 referred to the act of switching characters at the correct time to cause the player to not consume chakra as a bug. That being said... I've met more people than I can count on my hands and feet that are of the opinion that its a "intended feature". I still think its a bug, specifically because it worked differently in the past and was somewhat "fixed" through a patch in the early days of Storm 4. Meaning that CC2 made some effort to try and fix it, even if they did fail. On top of that you can see that the game is clearly struggling to understand what's going on as it will first lower your chakra by the expected amount, before increasing it back up as you swap characters. As if the game thought it did a mistake. However I don't think it should be ENTIRELY removed. That is to say I still think we should be able to do an action, swap characters and have the initial character finish their action before leaving the field, just that we should still lose the same amount of chakra as we would've done otherwise.
Since doing that is a form of pseudo substitution and can get out of attacks or combos. It can also be used to entirely negate certain attacks with incredible tracking, as it will track the initial character that was active when the attack was used, like Hashirama's Shadow Shuriken.
3. Character Balancing after Tournament Rules
I do think that certain Tournament Rules have a point to them, though others are far more of a biased nitpick and should never be considered from a developer standpoint. Both because they are biased nitpicks, but also because they take away from a core concept of games like Storm. Which is the flair and visual of it all. Imagine if Itachi didn't have Susano'o in his awakening, and it was just Storm 1's version of it. It would kinda ruin the visual of it all. Even though I really dislike his Perfect Susano'o Awakening, I still think it should be in the game as it isn't objectively overpowered or problematic, I just don't personally like it.
Likewise I don't think Six Paths Madara Awakening is problematic, or good for that matter. It is EXTREMELY easy to force someone to waste it on. You can easily wait it out while taking minimal damage. Which is true for a lot of Awakenings, and in most of them you really should just avoid them until it runs out. (Unless its a giant one, like a Susano'o. That thing you can mostly just Ultimate Spam until people run out of Subs because they are too focused on being aggressive to entertain the idea of you fighting back.) I do think commonly banned characters like Pre-Storm 4 Adult Kakashi should be fixed though. As the reason he is banned isn't because of personal bias, but because he has extremely buggy hitboxes. The same goes for Temari. With cases like Tayuya it would kinda require a full rework of her character. As she is played in the extremely toxic manner that she is because any other way is so extremely bad a random Konoha Jonin would have a better shot at beating Six Paths Madara in a straight up fight.
I don't entirely agree with the "Only 1 Awakening per fight" idea. I agree with in concept, just not the exact nature of it. From a developer standpoint, it shouldn't be that limiting and they have already tried different ways of limiting it, like giving a debuff when it runs out or decreasing the amount of health you can have remaining when it goes off. Or in the case of some Awakenings, entirely screwing you when they run out (like 8th Gate Guy in a Solo Match). What I do think is that Awakenings should be limited. Like say for example, every time you use an Awakening in a match and it runs out, you lose a set amount of max chakra that you can have for the rest of that match, not round, match. So if you say... Use Awakening 3 times in the first round of a "Best of 5", you'll then have decreased max chakra amount for the next 2-3 rounds. Meaning you can get away with it if you are good enough, but you will also severely limit yourself if you spam it too much. It would also be thematic.
As for Dash Cuts. I do think they are kinda "eh". They are boring, sure, but they aren't game breaking. There are numerous ways around, and heck you can even exploit it by using a support jutsu that fires a projectile, then dash to get the Dash Cut support out in the open and let it be hit by your Support Jutsu. Causing it to linger on the ground for far longer, not to mention that if you time it correctly you can hit the Dash Cut support frames before you would dash into it and instead you dash straight at the target. Though I'd argue that the most sane "balance" to do to it would to remove it and make the current "Charge Guard" type the only "Guard" type support. As it requires timing to use properly.
The best take, even if I personally disagree on switch tech being taken out/adjusted. I'm of the opinion that yes, as is it's a bug... But it should be an intended feature. Another aspect for neutral game.

This game looks like an upgraded Storm game, so I doubt the general gameplay will change that much, But I do hope they pull back on the hard knockdowns. Near all combos and special moves end in a hard knockdown, which feels stiff in these days. I guess it was for the knockback system, but still, near everything being a hard knockdown is old and forced gaming in this age.

It's easy to say it's just Circle, but it's really not.
You have Circle+Left Stick(up, down, left, and right).
You then have Switching in Partners to continue combos.
You have Throwables(Kunai).
You have Chakra Rush.
You have throws.
You have counters.
etc.
On top of all the Tech, every button already has a use, so I wouldn't want to tie multiple functions to a single button.

I think having a sort of xenoverse-esque combo system could be pretty fun, having 2 Buttons and having different Button chains do different things for you, i don't know anything about demon slayer but if that's what you mean then hell yeah, although making new combos for the whole cast is a bit insane, but maybe they could tie the old combos to this New System and give them different properties... it's not gonna happen but it would be very fun.

I don't think switch tech should be removed. It gives the game more depth and you can do a lot more with it than just not waste chakra during a dash. However, I would like to see it actually correctly implemented in the game and having it use some sort of resource. But I doubt we're going to get any changes. I hope I'm wrong, but I highly doubt that CC2 and Bandai Namco are going to put the effort into improving the game in any meaningful way.

- Guard Break is a rechargeable gauge instead of 2 uses
- Music Select before picking a stage
- Leaf Village at Night stage
- Awakenings have Ultimates again (Awakening time is shortened if an Ultimate hits)
Probably some permanent awakenings like Storm 1 but after awakening runs out you get a nerf in power
Remove guard break attack altogether. It invalidates characters who were given Power Mochi that was supposed to increase guard damage from attacks. It's also overkill because we got chip damage and are stunned when the guard is broken. It's too gimmicky and rewards the stronger characters just for being.
They need to bring back side combos and not just have up down and neutral combos. Give some characters even more variety. And for substitutes I feel it would be cool if there was a substitute mechanic that was added that uses 2 bars but counters to be able to go into your own combo like a reversal of sorts.
They need to bring back wall climb and fighting while being on the wall, too!
Here's a another suggestion.
If they are going to keep the round system then both players health and resources need to be fully replenished at the start of the next round.
Or remove the round system entirely like we had before.
Also, allow the knock back counters to decrease chakra bar capacity down permanently until the next round.
I'm fine with them in the game but nobody should be able to do this for free all the time. If you can't replenish the bar next round like everything else, remove it entirely.

I agree with all the gameplay mechanics needing to get fixed except infinites; infinites allow you to go into combo into ults which are very important and plus you have subs,so you won’t be in it forever.
Sub mechanic is what makes storm unique.
For me not having subs makes the game somewhat boring. For example, in Demon Slayer it feels like its just neutral until someone catches the other and then just wait for the best combo to finish - rinse and repeat. There is no fighting, rather a rock-paper-scissors of who will catch the other one first.
They can revamp it but not totally remove it. As it stands now, it doesn't give cc2 any incentive to make combos less janky like giant awakenings or overpowered like Sage Hashirama.
As someone who grew up on fighting game single player mode and has 0 fg fan friends I will always prefer single player stuff like stages, modes, characters, attacks, and items/cosmetics over multiplayer focused things like netcode and balance

Yo amend the “too many stages already” issue, they could just compress all the stages to have different variants. For example all the Hidden Leaf village stages could go under one slot and we select what version of the stage we want, and time of day.
What I would love to see is selectable transformations for characters and an optional mode where you play connections but with revolutions mechanics (awakening, ultimate, support drive)
They should bring back combo move list like the old Naruto games on PS2 different directional inputs for each character really gives variety.

6:36 You can actually still deal damage to them while they are in this glitched state, so you can actually win both rounds if the first round you just wait for time after making sure they got less health, and in the second round you can just damage them whilst keeping them stuck!

Well... if you want to be REALLY technical, ARMS is an arena fighter and had rollback netoce... 6 years before FighterZ had it, so... I think I should not get ahead at myself and say it won't be such a game. Specially taking in mind Harada's latest interview about Tekken 8's netcode.
You underestimate how important those small details really are. A lot of games are absolutely made or broken by their trivial small details. Does eating and drinking from your fridge in mafia 2 do literally anything at all? Not really. But am I furious that it wasn't in mafia 3 and consider mafia 2 the better game pretty much only because 3 didn't have stuff like that? Your damn right I do. Small details matter don't disregard them.
Personally am not a fan of 1 awakening per game, cuz while I 100% agree that something like Rinnegan Madara or Limbo Madara should be restricted to one use per game... you also have some awakenings like Sharingan Sasuke (PTS) that doesn't leave as much of an impact and restricting it to one use per game might as well gimp the character overall.
So personally I think that an awakening category would be nice, where certain awakening that are essentially game changers should be limited to one use per game while others should be spammable (with the awakening CD that's currently present in Storm 4 ofc)
I need to see Jutsu Clashes and wall battles . Characters should have the option to stay in awakening with new Movesets if the awakening is a tailed beast or susano or any gigantic monster they should be timed . But four tails Naruto , one tails Naruto , CS2 Sasuke and the other sound ninja should All have new move sets once awakened and able to keep that form like in storm 1.
A new guard break is good to . Give us the cinematic punches to the face that was in storm 1 when you see the impact of your fist clash with their face . It looked cool .

I would really like to see a the storm 3 system of flicking right stick to transform return, it’s cool to switch forms whenever you want mid fight. And on that note I think it would be cool for some characters with multiple transformations to be able to select different forms at the start of the match like selecting Justus in storm 4
If connections becomes more like xenoverse 2 in a lot of aspects (exept netcode, please not that one) i think the game will be a lot better off for it
A side of not having these things so far that I really want like 3 or 4 health bars so we can have instinct awakens again and Awakening ultimate jutsus but the thing Storm games really need is edo Itachi with a taijutsu/susanoo move set we desperately need that

Dash cut definitely needs to be adjusted, but I don't agree with the total removal of a defensive support type if we're going to keep offensive ones. Offense vs. Defense, not Offense vs. More Offense. A lot of characters aren't built for rushdown, and even more are weak to it. If those characters suddenly got the God Touch-Up and were homogenized a little more, then the removal of Dash Cut would seem fair overall and not just within meta. But its issues are tied to the same issues many exploits are also tied to, janky leader switching.
They should give us better options for the d pad items and should make the kunai button better like storm2 Sasuke got his chakra shuriken nerfed

I just bought Naruto storm 1-3 for 10$! I already had Storm 4 and now that Storm Connections is coming out soon, I might get that as well but it depends if it changes a lot because from what I’ve seen it’s basically a updated Storm 4 with a little added content (I don’t really care about the new story tbh, it’s probably a trash new game original Boruto story).
I want the jutsu clashes back, they were so good and with so many characters now the possibility of multiple jutsu clashes are way bigger than the storm 1

I respect his opinions from a competitive standpoint, but I don't think Okami was concerned about that specifically and was more focused on *fun* than anything else which is also perfectly fine.
Oh no, fans of a series want more maps from the series... and we want something back from previous games? That doesn't make us entitled, that means that is what we value.
The online scene for these games have always ended up dying relatively quickly, the only folks online nowadays are folks who are super into fighting games, folks looking for a nostalgia boost, or a mix of the two.
Aside from that, many of the issues and bugs in these games are somewhat *why* the games are fun, with the exception of some trash. Character switch tech is not *that* bad, assuming you know what you're doing?? Of course some characters are going to be busted... you can't do a game like this and have Kid Sakura be the equivalent of SO6P Naruto & Sasuke...
Not trying to be a dick here, but this whole video seems super out of touch with why these games were good to begin with. For all intents and purposes, Storm 4 is the Naruto version of Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Just me that loved tilt awakenings? Even just a gamemode with them. Or a weaker version of awakening e.g naruto can tilt to go storm 3 chakra mode but if he awakens he can do the full 6paths or full kurma Link mode

Substitutions aren't the biggest problem with the game and generally you can't just use them whenever you want, in high level play, since sub traps exist and is the skill gap.
The worst thing i would say in terms of gameplay mechanics is:
- The saving of the chakra after doing switch tech
- How fast the storm gauge is after the switch to build up the storm drive for support types and free chakra it comes with
Instant Awakening would be nice, yes I know it’s replaced with switch tech, but just press R3 instead of flicking it to go awakening. 😀

Y'know with what you said at 2:28, I was gonna hail mary by saying For Honor could serve as an example because "If a fighting game can have servers that provide seamless rollback to *eight people* at once, why can't a simple arena fighter with P2P do the same?". This was of course before I did the calculations and realised that the fastest normals in that game are 24 frames.
It was also before I realised that, by looking it up, you'd actually played the game before *all the way back* in the beta. Neat. (I do sincerely hope someone has a real example though)

As a puppet master i just gotts say: please give us a buff or something. These characters are so trash. You cant combo swap with them and continue your combo. Why does awakenings just trump puppets in every way? It pretty much auto knocks the puppets down if you arent the puppet master comboing rhe awakened. We do no damage whatsoever. Ive had people just give up and let me repeatedly ult them because how little damage the puppets put out.
Don’t mess with the switch tech. It’s the only thing that gives this game life
I hope that Storm Connections puts more work into the other characters. Like Sakura, Tsunade, Jiraya, Kushina and that they add Toneri, Fugaku Hagoromo and characters like that
No I don’t want your competitive tournament style characters, not everyone competes in the tournament so let’s not bend the whole game to them.
video game companies want to make a lot of money and one of the best ways to do that is to please everyone, I think they will make a game that is accessible and competitive (but not too much) suddenly I think there will be enough changes in the gameplay
I personally want the game to feel different in some way. I’m not saying the devs should make a completely different game, but a fresh take on the Storm gameplay will go miles in my mind. Substitutions are a good mechanic, but I think it should be limited to either a set amount per round or reduce the amount a character can substitute before having to restore their bar. Also adding different combos to older characters so they feel fresh would be really cool.

Can someone pls explain what Rollback Netcode is and how it works?
Sure, I'll try to simplify it:
Most fighting games of the past use peer-to-peer delay based netcode. Aka instead of two people connecting to a server, they connect to eachother. Delay based means, that the games are waiting to receieve information(button presses) from both parties before the action on screen occurs. If there is trouble with the connection, these games will "delay" the action until it recieves all the proper info from both parties. So this is why a game like smash, the game suddenly feels like it's moving in slow motion or outright freezes in place, online.
What rollback does is instead of waiting to recieve information from both parties, it predicts the information. If the prediction ends up being wrong, it will correct the action you see on screen to be whatever the actual information is and that quick jump in animation/visual is called a rollback. It's rolling back, the action basically. This prediction isn't random either, so you end up with a highly accurate experience that allows two players to not feel as if their game isn't responding to their inputs, as they would with delay.
It's not perfect ofcourse, and someone with a terrible connection or poor hardware is still going to create issues for their opponents, but it does make for a smooth experience for everyone else. The one caveat is, that it still needs to be implimented well to function correctly. Street Fighter 5 is an example a lot of people like to point to, as having bad rollback implimentation. Still better than delay based though.

I would like to see for some of the Storm 2 or Generations characters, reconfiguration of combos back because after they went to storm 3 they reduced it to lazy 3 combos, and some of the characters are missing the top ones…
Am I the only one that would love to bring some party/casual game elements back the storm games? I originally bought Storm 2 with the expectation of seeing jutsu clashes and wall fighting as in Storm 1. I was disappointed when I realized these elements had been removed from the game. If games like Smash can cater towards both player bases (casual and competitive) why not the storm games?

One option destroys the possibility of even trying to combo your opponent cuz the other person will just spam until the sub works, and having 2 subs makes getting caught even once incredibly deadly. It takes about 10 seconds for the bar to start regenerate if you only have two subs for the entire match it will be way more one sided when it comes to getting caught in a combo. It can already be hard enough managing 4 subs. If they were to removes a specific amount of subs it has to be 1 max. 3 subs is at least a little bit more manageable than 2
I think all characters should have a team ultimate justu with someone and that some characters need cooler looking ultimate Justus
Fully agree with switch tech being a bug that somehow became the core of the game. It needs to be highly tweaked in order to make the game balanced. Personally, I would love it if they got rid of it completely as fixing it would mean having a very watered down mechanic that doesn’t add much depth to the game itself.

I don't understand all the girls who want to take the switch tech without it you can catch someone the whole game I can run away what's the fun in that especially the girls who like to play either Minato or Dash Cut for me that's what makes the game better and I believe a lot of people kept playing because of that
@@meirhasdai747 firstly, I don’t know why u keep saying ‘girls’ in relation to running away, it doesn’t make any sense. In fact switch tech is what makes running away much much easier than dash cuts with jutsu buffer abuse. It’s way too spammy and a useable for its own good. There is no real cost to using it which and most glitches and bugs in the game are trigger by switching

I really hope Borushiki is his own character and not some sort of awakening for a karma Boruto. Maybe even get a time skip Boruto in there somehow, but I’m not even close to expecting it, just me hoping. That’s one of my main hopes
It's obvious Borushiki will be awakening. Even in the story he shows up for a few mins then leaves. Also what would Borushikis awakening be?

As someone who only plays the story mode and dont care about the online, I only need a couple of new characters, just a Lil update of visuals, and some new story shit.
Subs as they are later in the series needs balancing. At some point, if you have two good players against each other, it always boils down to either a game of rock paper scissors or whoever is playing the better character
Or whoever gets fucked by the game. I’ve had games like that that’ve ended because the game decided that I should sub twice in a row even though I clicked the button once. Or because the game decided that I should sub right back into place and get hit back into the combo I was trying to dodge and have to burn more subs just to do it right.
