Son-of-a-gun! This was a wonderful and very informative vlog. I have never seen bee hives or anything like this before now. You have a nice teaching voice and explain things so everyone can understand. Fantastic.
If you keep up with the bees, it might be worth building a dedicated space just for dealing with the honey. If nothing else it will save you having to clean all the kitchen appliances
Reminds me of my childhood when a friend of my father's used to have beehives. He used to have it as a Business. He was an old german guy. He used to produce Ti Tree honey in Queensland and it used to go candied. I loved that honey. Thank you Colin for bringing back memories from over 60 years ago. Will be 76 in about a month's time!
I will never look at a jar of honey the same way again. They talk about 'busy bees', well they have nothing on the beekeepers and honey profucers. The cost of honey is understandable now. First, the bees work diligently to fly from flower to flower gathering pollen. Second, you work just as hard getting it into jars to be enjoyed. I never imagined the process involved to get honey into jars. Good on you for once again educating, entertaining and making my Friday a day I can always look forward to with a smile. 🍯🍞🐝
After you’ve had raw honey, there’s no way you can consume the processed stuff. Can’t wait until it’s available to be shipped to America. Congratulations!
Your honey has been a labour of love ❤️ I was going to say blood, sweat & tears, but that didn’t sound so appealing 🤭 I am looking forward to buying some honey 🍯 Welcome home to Sherlock too, exciting times. 😎 I wonder if the 5 year ago you, ever envisioned this is what you’d be doing. It seems to suit you both so well and it’s an absolute pleasure tagging along for the ride with you both. Em 💜
Wow what a wonderful process of extracting the honey. Thank you Colin for showing us the process from start to finish. It is so amazing what the bees produce. I agree with you that you put your heart and sole from start to finish. Congratulations Colin on your first year of harvesting your honey. Have a great week. God Bless.
This whole enterprise of yours is absolutely marvelous and Colin, I’ve never seen you happier. Truly a win-win situation. Looking forward to seeing Sherlock next week in his beautiful new home.
Guys that was fascinating to watch, thank you very much for making this weeks episode. I never realised how much process went from getting honey to a jar. Really informative to see. (y) well done Colin for all that hard work and well done Shaun for holding the camera all that time. What a marathon that was. Have a good relaxing weekend :-) x
Congratulations! Thanks for another entertaining and informative video. I hope you enjoy your well-deserved rest. Looking forward to meeting Sherlock, and hoping for a wee update on the lady birds soon. Cheers!
Some years ago, my husband , Peter, kept bees. He went on a course in Writtle Agricultural College with his friend and they qualified as beekeepers. We had hives in my father-in-law's garden for a while and when it was time to extract it our four children helped. We were harvesting wildflower honey and so could use a rotary extractor. I well remember the sticky door handles and surfaces and the fact that all six of us (the children and us) used all the hot water to clean up the kitchen and ourselves. In spite of us taking over her house for the day, my lovely mother -in-law fed us when needed and thoroughly enjoyed herself. It's a very satisfying experience and boy! do you sleep well after it.
Having just returned home from Turkey after a paragliding accident (I will be ok) it’s great to watch you guys. The fun, the jollies and laughter you give me is immense. Keep doing what your doing, good result on the honey, I will keep you updated on my 4 N.Ireland hives next year. Xx
That vlog was so interesting and so much knowledge I did not know goes into making honey , Thank you so much for taking the time and patience to vlog and show everyone how much work goes into harvest the honey .❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excited for next week, the 2 bee/honey vlogs have been so interesting as well. Also thought the prostate vlog was really honest and informative well done to both of you.
OUTSTANDING!!! What a great vlog. Cannot wait for next year when, hopefully, you can ship to the US. The honey looks amazing, and my mouth is watering just watching.
Hi Colin & Shaun, this was a really wonderful video! Great editing. It was really interesting to see the whole process, you did a great job explaining Colin. How wonderful you have Sherlock...he's in very good hands with you guys...he'll have a wonderful home! Hope he settles in well! Please give Otis & Ollie a cuddle for me. Thank you so much for sharing. Take care, stay well! Lots of love Kathy x 💖💖
This was a fantastic episode. I was fascinated with the collection and pressing of your honey. You both are great Infront of the camera . Well done and im really looking forward to more bee content as it is so interesting .Thankyou so much guys 👍🐝
Well done, Colin and Shaun { ! }, ! It's the happiest I've seen you in a long while Colin ! The Bee therapy, has OBVIOUSLY worked a treat ! Long may it continue ! Stay safe and BEE happy ! Love to you both ! Stu xx
That was a lot of work! I don't think I've ever seen honey that was so thick. Giving each bottle the personal touch makes it so nice. Can't wait until you can ship some to the USA. 💖💖💖💖
Thank you Shaun and Colin for yet another great video, and well done for all your hard work, and to all the Bees of course for producing such delicious honey,
WOW! Great vlog Colin. I enjoyed this so much. And with the lengthy process that you have to do, I agree that the self-satisfaction you get is a plus. Take care both of you. Have a great weekend. Shaun, enjoy ABBA. Cheers 🥰🥰
Simply superb, world-class production and presentation. Colin could make the local phone directory seem fun and fascinating enough to make me want to live there. Cannot wait for availability of the honey in the States. I feel lucky and honored to share the planet with you both. (And just what DOES make Shaun's whole week??? Laughed out loud!)
Very interesting & informative! But, wow, sooo labor intensive!! LOVE the beautiful jars & labels & can only imagine how delicious the honey is! Job well done guys! ❤🐾🐾
Well done. I used to be self sufficient and produced a lot of stuff for sale. Butter, cheese, yogurt as well as goats milk and i know how hard you worked on the honey. Its knackering but worth it. Well done xxx
What a superb vlog, absolutely fascinating! I couldnt do all that but, along with the lovely background music, i found it very relaxing watching it. Thanks guys xx
That honey looks amazing. I was given a jar of honey by a neighbour recently, I've just had to open it and sample some 🐝🍯 Your vlog has made me really appreciate how much work goes into getting honey from hive to jar.
I can see Shawn proud of you on every sentence you say, especially when you go very technical ❤❤❤ The label is so nice! Really good looking, very professional not losing the handmade aspect! You guys are lovely and inspiring! All the best!
Colin and Shaun your vlogs keep getting more and more interesting. Thank you so muchfor sharing your life with me. Continued health. Please pet Otis and Ollie for me
So very cool from beginning to end. The only suggestion I have is to get a soft wheeled cart to take the supers to your spot away from the hives and then have an table there so you don't have to bend over or get down on your knees unnecessarily. Ahem.
That's an amazing amount of honey! Busy bees indeed! What a sweet series on beekeeping this has been. Meanwhile, I bet Sherlock is in his new home thinking "How did I get this lucky!"
That was absolutely amazing to watch we were just glued to the TV. We’ll done you two and the honey just looks delish. Take a well earned break. Can’t wait to see Sherlock the Avery looks very posh Shaun. ❤
I am so pleased that you care about the dear little bees, so much. Such appreciation for the creatures we depend upon is important, & that have found such a fulfilling hobby - as another ASD, I am glad you’re rewarded with a successful project
I love watching your adventures especially with this new adventure with the bees 🐝. Watching you extract the honey, my mouth was watering Lol I love honey 😂. I can't wait for when you will be able to sell and ship to the US. Soon I hope 🤞
Certainly a lot of work involved and very sticky. I still think it's incredible that those little bees make all that honey. Great vide😊😊🐝🐝 Well done great job on the owl's house.😊🦉
OUTSTANDING explanation and presentation! So much work but so rewarding at the same time. I was totally in awe of your auction! Simply amazing. Can't wait to see Sherlock! Kiss Shaun (Shane) for me. ❤
Fantastic. So informative and interesting. Takes time but it will be worth it in the end. Just like you to know I have gained so much pleasure and knowledge watching all your videos over the years. They lighten up my life. Thank you so much. Keep well and safe. James.
That was an amazing vlog, I did a bee keeping course a few years ago but unfortunately have nowhere to keep any hives but I think I have learned more from your bee vlogs than I did on the classroom based course. Your vlogs are so informative, the prostate vlog with your openness and honesty was eye opening, it’s something that is not talked openly about unlike breast cancer, where we are publicly encouraged to check our boobs and go for regular screening, which reminds me I have my mammogram next week. Ouch !! Really looking forward to next weeks vlog.. Sue x
That was some vlog - information , drama, emotion, (had my hanky out) oh and don't forget sticky!! Well done Colin. I suppose you had to starve as well - no way Shaun could get into the kitchen to cook meals!! Yes I knew it would be a no-no to get that wonderful honey into New Zealand - our borders have very strict rules and regulations. By the way my calendar arrived a couple of days ago - so that was allowed in! Thank you. Jocelyn Le Page NZ.
I understand that a honeybee lives for 5 to 7 weeks only, so does it matter that a next generation has to remake a honeycomb? This was such an interesting vlog again, Colin, and thank you for filming it, Shaun. I never knew that so much work was involved in processing honey. I look forward to seeing next week's vlog with Sherlock in his mews. Thank you both.
I learned a lot, and I'm excited that I may consider beekeeping. I've known that fungicide has diminished bee population, so I stopped all use years ago. A hive will help support the local bee colonies.
Excellent vlog on processing honey, the hour just flew by! I am wondering how regulation there is in beekeeping and then processing the honey. You have mentioned and showed a lot, but always feels like there is more .
Absolutely fabulous. I could watch honey pouring all day. Your little house must have the best air freshener ever, the rich smell of honey permeating every room. Bet it's driving Otis and Ollie crazy. Thank you for another fantastic vlog. Best wishes Diane in South Elmsall.
EXCELLENT VLOG !! Full of great information about beekeeping and producing honey. Looks like liquid gold, and is as precious. You put so much love into the making of the honey, that makes it even more precious.
That was broadcast-television quality educational and interesting content! Cheers lads!

Living in the USA I need to wait until your next season. Congrats on a well-developed process presented very nicely!
This whole enterprise of yours is absolutely marvelous and Colin, I’ve never seen you happier. Truly a win-win situation.

Shaun didn’t hold the camera. It was a tripod most of the time 🤣
Wow. The hard work involved, who would have known. PFTP tape on the hose threads may help with the leaks. Admiration all round from this veiwer
Schlock’s home looks great Sean. You did a super job on it. That was a lot of hard work. Well done!
Congratulations! Thanks for another entertaining and informative video. I hope you enjoy your well-deserved rest. Looking forward to meeting Sherlock, and hoping for a wee update on the lady birds soon. Cheers!
I’m in Eastern Kentucky up in the mountains, I can’t wait to get a jar of honey! Thank you both for sharing!

I think David Attenborough would have been proud of that episode well done lads.
Yum,Yum, Yum. I could imagine the beautiful aroma and flavour.
Great to see the process of extracting and bottling the honey.
Thankyou, what a great video, the amount of hard work you put into it was amazing. I loved the teaser at the end re Sherlock, brilliant.
OUTSTANDING!!! What a great vlog. Cannot wait for next year when, hopefully, you can ship to the US. The honey looks amazing, and my mouth is watering just watching.

After a very stressful week. Head spinning 🤪. This is so peaceful and relaxing to watch..... thank you.
You’re welcome 😊
Well done. I used to be self sufficient and produced a lot of stuff for sale. Butter, cheese, yogurt as well as goats milk and i know how hard you worked on the honey. Its knackering but worth it. Well done xxx
Also you should be so proud of yourself. What a beautiful label. Congratulations kiddo❤❤
Yum! Looks like Carmel. Raw honey heals wounds and is great for a sore throat. The bee’s and you guys did a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️

Your problem-solving commitment is just as inspriational as your creativity, Colin!

Absolutely brilliant video. I’ve learned so much about bees and honey production. It’s definitely a labour of love 🧡🐝🧡

Loved that this was the whole process in one lovely long video. The honey looks amazing , and I can't wait to meet Sherlock 🦉
What a production in front of, and behind, the camera. Loved it!
Thanks, really interesting to see the whole process. Love the clear labelling, looks great.
Thank you for educating us, we really appreciate honey now never realised that it was so time consuming fantastic
Excellent vlog on processing honey, the hour just flew by!
I am wondering how regulation there is in beekeeping and then processing the honey. You have mentioned and showed a lot, but always feels like there is more .
There is a lot of things to do, but it would make a really boring vlog 🤣
@@FoxesAfloat yeah, true 🤣
Absolutely fabulous. I could watch honey pouring all day. Your little house must have the best air freshener ever, the rich smell of honey permeating every room. Bet it's driving Otis and Ollie crazy.
Thank you for another fantastic vlog.
Best wishes Diane in South Elmsall.
Thanks so much!
Really enjoyed this vlog. It was very interesting. You have earned a good rest. New Milford USA.
Awesome! Thank you!
How much did you enjoy doing that?!! A great vlog, yet again. Thank you 🧡🧡
You are a pure pleasure to watch and listen to. Thanks
Wow, thank you!
Fantastic video! Here in Virginia, can't wait to buy!
EXCELLENT VLOG !! Full of great information about beekeeping and producing honey. Silly question......How and when do the bees sleep? i will be anxious to try the honey when it becomes available in the USA. Loved the yellow and black tee shirt! I think you and the bees worked equally hard getting that honey into those jars. 😊😊
Same way and time we do 👍🏻
What an absolutely amazing gadget for extracting the heather honey. I wonder how long they have been available. Designed by a genius. It was so interesting and I do hope I’m in time to buy some honey when you release it. If not this year then next year. I love the labels and how cleverly you have planned them being 3 sided you could rest the jar on the fourth side Colin. What patience and they all look identical. I hope the kitchen isn’t sticky anymore. As I said before my dad was banned from the house. 🍯🐝🌻
You are so professional in everything you do.
Always informative, fun & mindful too. I’d love to travel to Scotland again one day, to purchase some of your unique honey. Yes Aus & NZ have very strict quarantine regulations. Looking forward to seeing Sherlock in his wonderful mews.
Absolutely brilliant vlog . . . thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn’t realise how much work goes into getting the honey to the jar. . . congratulations on such a fine haul guys. Looking forward to buying some soon.
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you, I really enjoyed your vlog. So much work, but I could hear in your voice and demeanor how happy it makes you. Congratulation Colin! Also to Shaun for all the construction accomplishments.
Thank you so much!
Lovely vlog... well done Colin! (And the bees!! 🐝). Maybe Shaun can give your back a good rub followed by a drizzle of honey! 😉😄 love you guys xx
