The player that just insulted the TO and left Discord should immediatly change game if he want to go competitive, he will not stay a single week in the competitive scene when Valve put their hands on Deadlock Esport. You do not want to mess with Valve cause they will erase you faster than 2GD.
i mean, in theory it works in other games .. (i know it from CSGO/CS2 or SC2) where the only regional thing are usually LANs, but online can be kind of multi-regional, although there, they have to agree on servers that are the middleground for both teams always
@@nergal2741it’s a compromise for every other game also. Liquid has moved regions when games went online in csgo. … deadlock still has ping discrepancy issues. @DDLKG7 there’s FF in most competitive game tournaments, it’s just that people don’t FF and try their best till the very end, because it’s good sportsmanship.
Clearly they messed up the form and there was some kind of miscommunication with the TOs that will probably go unanswered, but quitting at 5 min, insulting the TOs, and then leaving the call is so cowardly. Any sane team in any competitive game would just ask for a rehost.
Game isn't even official and yet we already have players that think they're the dogs bollocks. Tournaments take a shit load of time and effort to plan.
if it is true that they did indeed talk to TO multiple times before the game and nothing was changed then I can understand the sourness, still never quit a game in the middle of a tourney thats streamed obviously, both part managed kinda meh im sure next time everything will be all good and fine :)
NA teams 100% can leave this match its not even close to a discussion. Unless you are so literally insane. The tournament was an NA tournament till the day before. It gets swapped to an international tournament and that causes the issue. The best thing for a team to do at that point is pray to not get an EU team. Also players are dumb they arent going to read updated rules ESPECIALLY NOT THE DAY BEFORE. Its clear by the forums that NA teams didnt take it seriously. NA team wanted to play East instead of west and the rest of the survey was pointless. Also are we really joking about this spain england distinction, its so bad faith. Either server NA dcs there. The TOs do suck and they are unprofessional, why are they acting like its the players fault. Ultimately its the TOs fault. And this health of the scene argument BS is literally just bad faith. If you are a TO and you cannot run an online tournament dont host tournaments for money, change the rules and then blame the players for complaining. LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE THING SAID BY THE TOS WAS BULLSHIT. NA players are babies for dcing ESPECIALLY if EU sat through game 1, however TOs 99% to blame. If you think a player calling a TO dogshit is too much, dont get into competitive environments go play in your 100 man highschool bedwars tournaments. Normally id support a ban on a player for calling a TO dogshit but when they miss up this hard its deserved. If this tournament has a buy-in I would blacklist it immediately for the next 2 months till they figure their shit out. I cant believe I have to take baby esports players side. Not to mention coinflipping game 3 is INSANE. Holy moly. Never seen a TO deserve so much hate.
This is what happens when you hand off tournament organizing aspects to the players. The organizers should have been better prepared and taken matters to into their own hands. Poorly handled in my opinion.
I agree that it should not have been a problem for the team, and that is the TO’s fault because the team told them this. It is also the nature of making things awesome to reflect and ask oneself what could WE have done better in case this happens again? Do we want to give them another chance to fix it? Do we move on to the next TO? Etc. Just my naive opinion. Thanks for sharing!
To be fair the TO should have questioned the choices of 5 across all terrible servers for NA. If your going to act like a sanctioning body, then do so. Changing rules mid tournament, then getting mad because a team leaves pretty dumb ngl.
fuck the deadlock league, gatekeeping teams from competing (16 teams played, 22+ signed up to play, they wanted a short tournament so it would be easy for them)
Obviously they should read, but you guys, that's awful survey design. It's extremely commonplace for a 1-5 RATING to be 5 being best. In a forced ranking, 1 is best. Surveys, at least in the US, almost always follow this structure so as to not confuse the people taking the survey and getting bad results.
@@DDLKG7 wasn’t sure, good to know. They are clearly not familiar with survey writing. Even using ChatGPT would’ve helped, but obviously again, the people should have just read the survey.
Turrets is not fun. Why do they do so much damage? Why are there 4 of them? Why do they have so much health? The Turret cheese needs to die first, everything else they can keep.
People taking a game that's in alpha way too seriously. Who are these players anyway? Who made them team US and EU? Sounds like a who you know tournament
The tournament was poorly managed. Simple as that. Moving forward NA should just play in NA and EU should stay in EU. The only thing I didn't think was mature coming from hydranation was calling the TO trash. Leaving a lost game not due to skill, but horrible server location doesn't bother me. Who wants to watch that anyways. It's not even entertaining when that happens.
Lemme just join an NA tourney as a EU team and then force the NA teams to play the NA tourney on EU servers, and then bitch when the NA team doesn't like that the NA tourney for NA players is on an EU server. Shits pathetic.
This was an all-regions tournament, not NA, and the rules were known beforehand. First of all, Hydranation disregarded the form about servers, filling out all EU servers as the same priority (while, in fact, England was better for them). Then, they could pause and ask for England instead (Lystic said he was ok with that), but the problem was they only wanted to change server while already losing hard (and did not want to admit defeat there, just wanted a repeat of game 2). Instead of going to game 3 they ff-d. Very childish behavior, I agree it was bad sportsmanship.
average NA player right here. U think they decide what servers to play 1 minute before the match? Use some of your brain. If u don't like the conditions for whatever reason U NEED TO SPEAK UP BEFORE HAND. I would erase this team from pro scene never to be seen again. Disgusting.
I disagree. Players aren't slaves. They should leave whenever they are forced into a stupid unfair position, that's integrity. That said, not sure if they wad the case here.
@@DDLKG7 Doesn't matter. They wanted to leave and they left. They get less money for bad placement and if they're cool with that then who cares and someone else gets payed more and a better placement/free win. Players aren't obligated to play in something they feel is unfair. leaving is understandable but I can agree it can be distateful. Also, the only reason TO's were mad is because it fucks up the tournament's pacing and views BCS wtf do u do in this random ass down time. Which is fair to be angry about. But... when a team claims they tried to communicate and instead of actually helping you pick the worst option out of the two ur at fault as well. poorly organized tournament makes salty teams.
