How good is the deer hunting around black rock??

    • @codysheenoutdoors

ToschiRealLifeMedia thanks for your question? To simply answer it, it's ALL based on the weather. Yes, there are some local deer (bucks) that are there year round, but they are far and few. But, when there's several storms before the opener of G1 and the deer, have a little time to move/migrate to lower elevation or to their wintering grounds, Blackrock and the areas around can be outstanding.
So, all of that lower elevation is highly based on previous weather (storms) to get them moving.
Hope that helps and happy hunting.

Hey, my friends and i are planning a camping trip here in a couple of weeks and we're wondering if dispersed camping is allowed in the area or if we have to stay at one of the 6 designated spots.

Hi @klm7915, I definitely don't want to veer you down the wrong road here. I'm not 100% positive. I would call BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and get the facts from them. I do know the road in (Pondarosa) has been recently graded and is in great shape. Happy camping!

This is the video I've been look for! I've been wanting to visit this exact campsite but wanted to know how the road was. Did you enter through Red Bluff or did you go through the 32? To me it looks like you went through Red bluff so I'll try that way. Thanks dude 🤘🏽

A big thank you for your comment Julio Duarte. To answer your question, yes we traveled 36 east out of Redbluff. Precise driving directions are in my description box. It took me a little over an hour and a half to reach Black Rock once you reach Ponderosa Way rd.
Thanks for watching/ enjoying and yes, definitely get out there and do it!

We stopped going here. The mexican drug cartel were there. My renter worked for the forest service and she said it was so dangerous they rarely went there

Sounds scary but you told me no guns are allowed so the cartel should be unarmed right?

@@ToschiReelLifeMedia you know what they say when guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. They actually have guys in trees watching for people coming. And they walk around with AK-47's I saw them and I told my renter I went there and she told me about them and I said yes I saw them

Probably. I last went there about 10 years ago. I don't think I'll ever go back. I first went there in 1972

I don't know if they shot all the deer 🦌 because I won't go there. It's about 20 miles down a dirt road. No cell service. And Very Scary people. No Thanks lol
