What you found were the Cottonwood Charcoal Kilns located near Olancha, California. These kilns are historical remnants of silver mining in the 1870s at the Cerro Gordo mine outside of Keeler. The kilns are made of clay bricks and are slowly returning to the earth, cool spot. Just bought some property in Olancha so I'm finding out more and more stuff everyday.
Hi there...oh thank you for letting me know. There were no signs of what they were. Tried doing the research and couldn't find anything online. Thank you so much. Congratulations on your property purchase!😊
Hi, new sub here! Thanks for this video! I saw the Olancha RV Park on HipCamp ( I think maybe the map? ) and I was wondering what it was like. I'm also trying to find out what the temps are like year around out there. It looks beautiful, but, I'm not familiar with living in the high desert areas. I would like to plan a trip out there and I love history so even Lone Pine would be up my alley.
Hi there...well The average summer temperature is typically around 90°F, while winter temperatures can dip down below freezing. During spring and fall, temperatures are generally between 40°F and 70°F. For what i know Olancha receives an average of about 8 inches of rainfall per year, so it is often quite dry throughout the year. Olancha Rv Park looked pretty good for that area. There's a few more Rv Parks further up highway 395 in the city of Lone Pine. One is Diaz Lake Campground and right across from Diaz Lake is another Campground with a few more amenities. If you have a chance, its worth while to check out that area. Thank you so much for watching. Hope it helped.😊
@@xplorewithalex9752 wow that's awesome! Not as bad temps as I thought. I am about 30 minutes west of Monterey, and that is close to what we get here, but, lately ( the last 2 years ) a lot more rain during the winter than I remember. I will definetely plan a trip there and check out the RV parks in Lone Pain as well! I'm semi-retired now, so need a little less expensive park to live in. Thanks again for answering that for me! Cheers
I didn't go inside because someone was in there. But glad there's one, I wish I would of seen it but glad you told me that way people who camp there know they also have a shower. Thank you for clarifying that🙏 😁
Thats where Crystal Geyser water is bottled. I buy that water at our grocery store in Fairbanks Alaska

@@xplorewithalex9752 oh yeah...I bet it can! thank you!
There is a shower inside the bathroom at lake Olancha!
Hi there, all I saw was a portable bathroom and no shower. Staff did say they are working on it.😊
