  • In this video, I'm going to walk you through my All Dogs Offroad RC Killa suspension lift on my 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. I modified it slightly to help adjust for the extra weight in the rear of my truck for carrying overlanding gear.
    Check out the full video for all of the specifics of what I did and how it holds 1000 pounds of weight in the rear.
    If you want to pick up the ADO RC Killa kit (great for new trucks that you don't want to spend big on suspension), here's a link: bit.ly/3KwFPql
    And here are the longer shackles I used (about $60): amzn.to/3KbTsLd
    Also, if you're wondering what spacers (1") I'm running. I went with these. I've used this brand across 3 different vehicles over the last 6 or so years and they've always been great. Reasonably priced too: amzn.to/3R4BPkn
    I'm also trying something new with TH-cam memberships. It's a simple way to support the channel if you'd like and you get early access to all the videos plus some other fun perks. If you're interested, click on the "Join" button below to see how it works!

    The Frontier is looking good. I like the stance the suspension gives the truck 👌🏽

      Did you add wheel spacers or is that just from the larger tires?

      Just by the quick look I saw in the video your leafs look like they are starting to go flat almost looks even negative. I would go ahead and put those new leafs in. We see this at my shop all the time with the extra weight and stock leaf springs. Just my two cents, but love the content.

      @@Yotatecher yeah, they’ve got about 16k on them with that weight on the whole time.

    I've heard with coil front lifts more stress is put on the ball joints of the wheels. Does your build also account for that?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It might put a little bit more on it, but I think the difference is probably negligible. If you go much above the current lift, then most suspension manufacturers recommend replacing your upper control arms to adjust and allow for travel without contacting the coil bucket. I figure in 30 or 40,000 miles. I will probably go with a slightly larger lift and at that time I’ll replace upper control arms and do any needed maintenance at that time.

    What tire size? Did you extend your bumpstops? You must drop your bumpstops to limit compression travel, both to clear the larger tires and to protect the springs. The shackle lift allows the leaf spring to compress beyond its limits and fatigue. If you do this right, your oem spring will not fail early.

      Good to know. They’re 285/70R17 Kenda Klever RT’s.

    coil bucket contact with those longer front springs?

      Nope, none after probably 10K miles offroading.

    Have you looked into z1 2in shackle?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn't just because I decided to add a shackle right after buying the ADO lift and since it's basically just a few pieces of steel, I bought the cheaper set off Amazon. Long term, I'm going to swap out the rears for the ADO parabolic leaf pack to help with the weight and when my shocks wear out, I'll pick up the Koni's from ADO as well. I'm sure the Z1 shackle is nice though like most of their stuff!
