But when I look at your redesign for Carnivine, I didn’t get the feeling of a fly trap at all. I actually really like Simisear! I completely understand why people don’t, but I had one on my first ever Pokémon team (Pokemon white) and I gave one to the old man on X and Y, who unfortunately, dies, so I have a strong connection to it! Brilliant video also! You have a real talent for capturing the personality of the Pokémon in a new inventive way!
It's perfectly fine to love a Pokemon a vocal majority of people hate. When you tell others why you love it and defend it from those kinds of people it makes you love it more to me.
I’d love to see you redo Illumise! She’s a beautiful Pokémon, and seeing one look more like a 50s pinup or see more touches of soc in her design would be awesome. I’d like to see what you can do with Bidoof or Bibarrel. I honestly forget those two are even Pokémon at times, and I loathe Bibarrel’s design.
Hell yes I love this series, you and other poketubers have inspired me to create my own region. I’m so jealous of you artist ability because I can’t draw and I feel like making the region would be even funnier if I could actually put my Pokémon on paper. These videos help me to keep it going tho.

That thing can't be saved. I suggest recreating evolutions for Tepig with completely new designs and concepts, though a Samurott redesign would be cool.
i feel like a lot of my issues i’m having with these redesigns fall under “rob isnt a perfect artist and didn’t 110% nail the pokemon style.” i think as he improves as an artist, the redesigns will naturally also improve. i would love to see these redone in a year or so!

In my opinion, before I bonded with Claydol I thought it was ugly and freaky. But after Pokemon Go, and how many times it helped me beat up poison types and fighting types, I've learned to love this strange doll.
Also imagine someone talking garbage about semisear and me saying Simisear can't hear your negativity cause of his motorcycle 🏍️ and then make motorcycle noises like that simpsons episode with Homer's motorcycle

A cool carnivine origin could be a pun on venus fly trap that is partially inspired by the god venus. It could charm prey into getting close and then bite their heads off.
I really like the granbull, but the lower jaw not being connected to its face is odd to me, and it's upper body could be a little larger. Pokemon are cartoony animals, so giving them realistic proportions makes them look uncanny to me. They're still great though
I really like the change to Volbeat's face. I feel that way about a lot of Pokemon actually. There are quite a few that make me feel like their face looks too much like a cartoon human face on an animal's body. It's why I'm not as big a fan of Eevee as most people, but I love its more doglike evolutions (Sylveon being the only one that has a similar style face to Eevee.)

Also I love your Simisear redesign, cuz I never liked Simipour or Sear... Sage however has the strongest design, but would love to see your redesign also..
I really like all of them especially the Claydoll. The Carnivine redesign is a lot better than normal Carnivine based on design and concept, but I have a sentimental attachment to Carnivine so that's why I prefer the normal Carnivine.
Imagine hearing sounds in the garden at night, thinking two pokemons are fighting. Then when you open the door you see a blinding light. You then see that it is a sunflora hopping over the fence with it a carnivine following it. I just imagine his takes on these pokemons to be partners in crime XD
Here, a genuine review of each redesign! Simisear: I don't like the old Simisear, but I dislike the way yours looks because it doesn't feel like it fits properly. The Simis are... ok. They exist and fit in the world. Yours has an air of coolness, but its too OC like and doesn't look like a Pokemon. 4/10 Claydol: Your design is very interesting, but as a replacement for Claydol it would be wildly out of place, especially with the colour scheme. The design is very neat though! Perhaps as a regional variant this design could be an interesting team member to pick up, and it looks like it could still evolve too. 7/10 Carnivine: Carnivine is one of those pokemon you expect to have a baby or evolution. Your redesign adds just enough to it to make it feel more like a standalone Pokemon, although the head could be more trap like. The body I dont like very much, and it feels very slapped on and still a bit of a mess, the legs too. 6/10 Volbeat: I really like the new design, although the sloping body into the bulb is a bit offputting. I think it would work better with the original volbeats idea of having the light separate to the body, perhaps as a tail off the end of its abdomen. Still its a very nice sleak design... if you redesign Illumise to match that is. 7/10 Granbull: Definitely the best design of the video. It feels like an alternate form of Granbull and could fit perfectly into the game. I have no real issues with this one and would probably help me remember it exists. 8/10 iunno if anyone will read this, but just opinions c:
If I was gonna redesign the monkey trio I would make their hair cover the parts of the face they don´t use to emphasize the sanzaru theme, Simisage would cover its mouth, Simisage its ears and Simipour its eyes. 4:55 Is me or if you remove all the eyesof the original Claydol except the three of the center, change de color of the middle eye and make it look more like lips, does is look an alternative evolution of Smoochum? The redesign kinda looks like an owl to me. 6:45 Not a fan of the new face. Maybe make Carnivine look like an alraune, a woman like plant that feeds on humans from modern folklore? 8:35 The new Volbeat looks better. 10:45 Only add the Ghost type and that would be a Bulldogstein XD Maybe I would make the jaw bigger but otherwise is fine.

I like most of his redesigns but I don't like the claydol redesign. In fact the redesign is creeper to me. Then again I like claydol to begin with

I think it would work better with the original volbeats idea of having the light separate to the body, perhaps as a tail off the end of its abdomen. Still its a very nice sleak design... if you redesign Illumise to match that is. 7/10
Granbull: Definitely the best design of the video. It feels like an alternate form of Granbull and could fit perfectly into the game. I have no real issues with this one and would probably help me remember it exists. 8/10

The only one of these redesigns I kind of like is volbeat. The rest of the designs just look bad, and I'm too attached to the original granbull.

If I was gonna redesign the monkey trio I would make their hair cover the parts of the face they don´t use to emphasize the sanzaru theme, Simisage would cover its mouth, Simisage its ears and Simipour its eyes.
4:55 Is me or if you remove all the eyesof the original Claydol except the three of the center, change de color of the middle eye and make it look more like lips, does is look an alternative evolution of Smoochum? The redesign kinda looks like an owl to me.

More of these please! They're so well done and amazingly thought out. I love it Carnivine and Volbeat are by far my favourite ones. Should've made the latter glowing more though!

I really liked these redesigns! The Clayton one was my favorite. I never hated Claydol in the first place, but this video made me realize that it's giant red eyes are so gross looking lol

The thumbnail is a little inflammatory, since you're implying you've improved them rather than tweaking them to your tastes.

I reaaaly dont like simisear it looks really weird and arguably worse than the original one
Nitpicking, I'd say the Simisears shoulders are a little too high but it does look much better
