Guys! The drawing I used as an example of a “bad” design was an intentionally bad drawing I found on google. It’s not a submission. You’re crazy if you thought I would embarrass a fan like that. Anybody who thought that must leave a LIKE as punishment ;)

A couple questions regarding submissions:
1.) Are we allowed to re-submit an entry?
2.) Are we allowed to submit multiple entries?
I love how you give constructive criticism to the submissions. You don't give too many compliments, which tends to give off the opposite impression, and you say exactly what you mean while still being kind and emphasizing the strong points of the art.

Bismoth is so amazing, props to the original artist. Also holy shit I wish it were real, imagine bug/steel one of the best types in the game, then it also has an evasion raising ability making it an excellent weather mon, and based on its design and overall look I would imagine it learn a move like quiver dance, which lets just say those 3 things would make this mon busted!!!
plus, if any fire types try to set up sun to boost their damage to Bismoth, it's ability just raises its evasion even more!
I think raising evasiveness in normal weather would be OP, but giving it a boost to evasiveness in Sun would be amazing. It could be a great counter to a Sunny Day team despite being weak to Fire.

Prior to Legend Arceus, I agree with Pokemon design should be streamlined and cutesy. After Origin forme Dialga and Palkia, I'd say anything goes plus Pokemon seems to be more and more humanoid ever since XY.
As long as the designs are extremely inventive and unique who cares how they look

Yeah. Guys at Nintendo should stop trying to imitate Digimon. We get enough Humanoid 'mons from there.
I genuinely do not like the origin forms, and this is coming from someone who loved the ultra beasts
tbf i think legendaries always break the rules a bit. most legendaries are overly detailed compared to other designs

Shoutouts to the original design of Beetya, I really, really love it. It gives off an incredibly specific vibe to me: A secondary antagonist in a late 90s/early 2000s anime comedy that'd be aired with an unfortunately cheap dub on Spanish TV on Saturday morning. I grew up watching those shows and love them to this day, so it has this nostalgic-but-new feel to it that really works for me.

Well, about that... I actually designed her based off of Hilda Berg from Cuphead as a matter of fact. Glad someone else caught onto the inspiration !

Another cool thing about a series like this is seeing how different people would interpret a premise. My first impression of Shockalope would've been to make its horns into a taser-like shape that conducts electricity between them, but the idea of having a Pokemon simply have electricity emanating from it all all times does lean more into the fantasy that Pokemon has established.
With the ability iridescent and the type bug/steel, Bismoth can take advantage of any weather condition. Defensive buff in sandstorms, evasive buffs in normal and sunny weather, and it’s only weakness can’t hit was hard in rain. It seems like a really cool Pokémon for battle

I made a fakemon with the same Bismoth pun, mine was a regional varient of frosmoth though. While working on it I found that same artwork you reworked!

This has to be one of the Top 5 best videos you've ever made. I can't stop re-watching it over and over. Not only are you super talented with your art but, people are so creative with their designs. I especially loved Bismoth line as the concept and designs were genius and clever. It's great to see you redesign fakemon from your fans and congrats to the creators who got their fakemon shown in this video, including the honourable mentions

Another strong set of designs, Ron! You've got some really talented fans who really helped finish this race with you! The way I see it, they passed their batons and you finished the race! I'm particularly fond of Beetya and Bismoth, and as always, enjoyed the extended lore that accompanied the work. Great job everyone!

Bismoth looks awesome and may be my favorite (though that might just be my Steven Universe fanatic talking), but these are all great and I love the video concept in general! Small fun fact: "Sra. Miau" (the first honourable mention designer) is pronounced "Señora" Miau, not literally "Sra". Sra. is a shorter version of Miss in Spanish and Portuguese, just like Mrs. for English :)

I really love what you've done with these designs. The ideas themselves were already incredible, but the small steps it takes to look like an actual pokemon is so impressive. The changes may be really small, but it makes such a huge difference.

Ahhh I love this series! You are really great at simplifying concepts and making them more coherent. As an artist I tend to overcomplicate things so I find it hard to design Pokémon!
My idea for a Shockalope evolution would be a kangaroo with these huge lightning antlers. I think it'd work because kangaroos already look like rabbits and are associated with boxing so the fighting type would make sense.

Ooh here’s a video idea. You should design fakemon for all the type combinations that don’t exist yet (ground fighting / fire grass / fairy dragon)

@@AlonMoiseyev I don't think they mean the actual drawing, but the statement. The idea being he said he didn't pick designs that "weren't good enough to begin with" so, if someone wasn't picked, they might get that impression that theirs was bad.
one of your best videos of late Ron, and they've all been consistently amazing so that's a high bar -- keep up the good work! I especially appreciated the decision to update a kid's drawing, I want a Taphoon on my team --- nicely done.
This is such a nice series would be interesting if you did maybe a spin off version where you either draw an evolutionary line or drew an evolution or prevolution to a design you liked. Keep up the amazing work

Love your art! One thing i would love to see is "Monster allergy"'s mosters as pokemon, even though they already look kinda pokemon-y.
These are some of the best designs yet. TG7 does such a good job replicating that gen 6 style imo.
It is super awesome that you are doing this! Some people may have the coolest ideas for Pokémon, but not the artistic talent to do it justice.

I can see Bismoth being banned in OU because of its Bright Powder ability and a lack of Fire-Type moves that bypass the accuracy check

I really loved the concept for Bulldoze, a great punny pokemon, I love ground types which are more animal like such as Hippowdon, Ursaluna etc.

Tempting me to make a Twitter, I’d probably show off my rabies Pokémon Neuroyte. It’s a ghost ground mangey coyote design that’s part of a split evo you get it by having the pre evolution get knocked out by a Neuroyte making contact with it which in turn puts a piece of the evil spirit possessing Neuroyte inside the pre evo. As a result the pre evo loosing most of its free will becoming a prisoner in its own body and evolves into its decrepit form and is filled with rage and aggression towards everything even its trainer. However if the trainer doesn’t give up and still shows compassion towards Neuroyte their bond can become stronger than the evil spirit and Neuroyte can unlock the memories it had with its trainer and gain control over itself once again
That sounds epic!

Powtage might not fit as a Pokémon to some, but it'd fit right in as an Enigmon ! I love the off the wall and unique designs, as well as inanimate object mons.

National Park in the background was so nice, what I find interesting about it is that in HGSS the music sounds exactly like the styles from BW even more than other pieces in the soundtrack.

All the artist original pokemon where amazing, and i love your pokemon videos and it inspired me to make my own region pokemon friend or foe, or the tidalan region
Just some constructive criticism:
With most of your designs/redesigns, I feel as though the mons are very balanced. Like with Beetya, the fists, head, torso, legs, and leaf are all the same size. If you were change the proportions a little, we could really see the emphasis on that fighting type. With Bismoth, I loveddddd the size of its wings in the original design. Now with your redesign, it looks like the wings are underdeveloped which doesn’t make it feel like a fully evolved mon.
Hopefully, this helps when you design more!

Hey man, big fan of what you create! I could have a potentially new series idea for you! I don’t know if you’re familiar with the nokemon ai generator but you can choose a primary type and it’ll generate a pair typing fakemon. I was thinking you could use the generated fakemon and make a chain of evolution fakemons (whether it be pre-evolved forms or further down the line). Just wanting to share an idea as I would love a series like that! Congrats on all of your successes though nonetheless! Much love!

i LOVE your designs the only thing i see with your fakemon is that they dont really convey size that great for example typhoon looks about a feet smaller than it actually is and comedium looks about the size of pikachu.
