      Hi, this could possibly be the von roll cable car from Barry Island resort which was closed at that time, due to storm damage, this also had 3 towers. Purchased for this project. Would have been amazing to see this happen!

    I knew about this as I used to live right next to the Lytham Rd bridge as a kid, a few doors up from the house you pointed out on the bridge. So there would have been a pylon at the back of our flat and people would have been able to see into our lounge and kitchen. 😂

    If you can get access to back issues of the Lytham St Annes Express I recall there was quite a bit in the paper at the time with emphasis on the loss of privacy. Not sure how much was driven by the news or residents!

    @adamtrue7691 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Back then the park had free entry hence it had 7 million visiters so it might have made business sense back then. This isn't the first time that the pleasure beach has tried to break out of its boundaries as it tried to create a giant launch coaster that would have gone out to the coast and theres still three concrete markers where the pylons were proposed (not sure if it was yourself in a previous video that pointed that out or one of the rollercoaster vloggers)

  • @CoasterKaty
    @CoasterKaty ปีที่แล้ว

    When I was a kid back in the 90s, I’d heard they were planning to buy the Solaris centre plot to build a hotel and run monorail from there to the park, this was either refused permission or fell through hence the Big Blue in its current location. I don’t know if there is any truth to this (or if it was somebody getting the plans for a hotel mixed up with the plans for this cable car system).

    But the comment about the 5 min walk to the main entrance, there wasn't one in the 90s, you could wander in and out at many different entrances. So it probably ended somwhere near one of those.

    • @AdventureMe
      @AdventureMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's right. But there were no entrances at the back. The nearest was where it is now or on Watson road. The rollercoasters block the back end.

  • @DJSOfficialUK

    If they were to do that now, why don't they just build two new park entrances with one outside Bond Street with multi-storey parking & another one being where Blackpool Pleasure Beach Station is? With entrance plaza where Big One circles overhead? Using railway already in place with if not Bond Street, parking at Blackpool South Railway Station, build up with Multi-storey parking? Or council could do this for guests accessing to the Pleasure Beach itself? Its what I would do. Also, ok idea, but yeah agree with residents wanting no one looking from above below into their gardens aswell hearing the noises of the operations & guests talking or shouting especially if operated in evening? So for that glad it didn't happen involving the railway clearance, also could of gone with a longer one I think. By the way, now that monorail has been removed, wouldn't say no to them maybe bringing Cable Car back to park? Like Alton Towers Resort type? Offer good views of park. But interesting video, really enjoyed and look forward in future seeing more. 😀👍
