The first thought that came to my mind at the beginning of this video was “can we just waive the natural-born requirement for this guy?” Arnold as President would be amazing for this country right now…
Whoever told Arnold that heart surgery was routine was lying. My father also had a valve replaced and he opted for a metal one instead of a pig valve like Arnold did because he didn't want to go back ever 10 to 20 years to have a new one put in as his doctor told him you could die every time they do it and not just that but your chance of dying during it increases each time you have it done.
My father was also informed about this. The advantage of the pig valve is that you do not need to get Coumadin or whatever medicine is used to regulate blood viscosity. Metal valves last long but they have the risk of blood clot accumulation. Arnold might be a little older than your father. Doctors do not assume that we will live forever. So, they might have thought that before he needs the pig valve replaced, Arnold would most likely die. He is 76.
Arnold is 77. Only a year younger than Drumpf but far smarter & reality based. Too bad he can't legally run for president. He'd be the first republican in the job I actually respected
It's an insane rule. Have rules about how long someone's needs to have been a citizen, I get you need some rules, but saying no immigrant can become president in a country of immigrants, It's madness. Basically a rule to keep those people and families who have already achieved power to maintain their power.
"The country needs you." Negative. What the country mainly needs is to stop pretending it even matters who's president. 🙄 If you think someone who's daft enough to be satisfied by a political career will produce any kind of solution, you're just as useless as the system you subscribe to.

Omg Arnold talks about nurses!!! No one higher up talks about us! Not until they get sick do they may or may not realize how important it is to have help when you can’t help yourself!
I never knew what Arnold actually went through as a governor. Sounds like a dream job and nightmare job at the same time. He seems like a person who would like to give all the resources to everybody, so it must be really tough to say no and limit the help. But it's great to hear there has been will to find solutions and agreements and help people other than just picking and choosing who gets funding. Reducing emissions too, such a difficult thing to get through - to motivate people and companies. I really like the idea of having a will to do good and admitting that you don't know the best how to do it, but you can motivate all the people who can work together to pull it off the way it should, you can bring people together and stop arguments in favour of finding solutions people can agree with together. That is such an important role to be able to pull off. The way he puts it is also so beautiful. You don't really want to be the leader that divides people, who picks sides. You want to be the one uniting and driving it forward together, trying to improve everyone's lives a bit. You can't win in everything and you can't have a utopia come true, you can mostly just have small wins and like in sports and skills be better every day. I also feel like Arnold in a way was the leader America needed. All I've been hearing is fights between people who think differently from each other, leaders or not just quarreling. Having someone who's not clearly taking sides and who people know as a wholesome and respectable character, in a way a hero of America, could be really useful to unite people. He has a different stamp on his forehead than a political side.
First of all, I'm a huge fan of Conan. I loved him still do and I and I will always be a die hard Arnold fan. I saw the Netflix special, but looking forward to reading the book

I strongly suspect Arnold can run for president. The phrase "natural born citizen" in the constitution has never been fully litigated. It might seem obvious to a layperson that it doesn't apply to Arnold. But it's legally ambiguous and recently its interpretation has only expanded to cover larger groups of people. A legal argument could be made that since Austria was under Allied rule at the time of Arnold Schwarzenegger's birth, that it was -- at least in part -- a United States territory at the time. Individuals born in US territories are citizens, and Arnold only solidified his claim to this natural born citizenship by becoming a naturalized US citizen immediately after emigrating from Austria. Update: It's worth adding that a case which could affect the hypothetical situation above has been brought forward to the US Supreme Court as recently as a year ago. But they declined to hear it. The case in question was with respect to American Samoans not getting automatic citizenship: JOHN FITISEMANU, PALE TULI, ROSAVITA TULI, AND SOUTHERN UTAH PACIFIC ISLANDER COALITION vs UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ET AL..
When Governor Swarzenegger started in public policy, i'd never expected him to be as prudent & pragmatic with a display of tangible integrity than most every other politician we see regularly today... All with a disposition of service. Dig.
He was not a great governor. When he left office his approval rating was in the low 20s. None of his initiatives were voted for, and he was just a useless governor overall. He left California worse suited to deal with the 2008 financial crisis. That was pretty much his legacy.. Useless and mildly destructive. I'm sure he had a fun time though.
Honestly, Arnold was the last great politician I can think of and easily the best Governor of California I can remember since I've been alive (born in 1976) He WORKED. He bridged the two sides of the political aisle. He may be a Republican but he was a very center of the road one who wasn't stuck on "no taxes, guns, free market, no oversight" he actually tried to make things work. He was FANTASTIC. And I say this as a mostly identifying Democrat

Arnold is 77. Only a year younger than Drumpf but far smarter & reality based. Too bad he can't legally run for president. He'd be the first republican in the job I actually respected
Arnold is a moderate Republican in the 2000s. Which makes him a moderate Democrat in 2023 lol, run for President sir. The country needs you.
Sorry he can't. Wasn't born here. Would have loved to see it.
It's an insane rule. Have rules about how long someone's needs to have been a citizen, I get you need some rules, but saying no immigrant can become president in a country of immigrants, It's madness. Basically a rule to keep those people and families who have already achieved power to maintain their power.
"The country needs you."
Negative. What the country mainly needs is to stop pretending it even matters who's president. 🙄
If you think someone who's daft enough to be satisfied by a political career will produce any kind of solution, you're just as useless as the system you subscribe to.
@@TheycallmeMrWonka It's not like forever, the immigrant's children born here can become President
It's too bad that he's not eligible to run for president, he could possibly have our government functioning which hasn't happened in a long time.
"Fuc your fweedom" (arnold on covid)
@@benvinar2876 Please don't take this quote out of context. It was his response to people asking for their "freedom" to not wear masks in public. Because this kind of freedom could have harmed them or others, AS came about with these words.
boy i wish he was younger and able to be president. id vote for him in a heartbeat
"Fuc your fweedom" (arnold on covid)
@@benvinar2876 cry harder. he still does more in a day than you accomplish in a year. and in his prime, no one could stop him. who's right? him, or some angry nobody who can't even take reasonable scientific advice? this is how a loser behaves. you'll accomplish nothing and you know it.
Deeper knowledge from get to the chopper. I like this interview. Humanity is close to home.
I wasn’t expecting to watch this at 7am and get teary eyed.
Love Conan, love Arnold! This is the best!
It’s not a rumour 😂 perfect
"ITS NOT A ROOOMUH!" -Arnie
Great interview!!
2 hour surgery that surprise turned into 16 hour operation? Arnold really is a time traveler!! Was terminator an autobiography?
... that surprisedly* turned into ...
It’s nice to see Conan being interviewed by Conan
The U.S needs leaders and role models like Arnold in a high position in the politics. Is he perfect? No, but people on all sides still love him despite knowing his flaws for a reason, and he knows politics.
"It's not a ROOMAH!" hahaha
Man I love this Mf he’s an inspiration
10:07. Pneumonia is a big killer of elderly people. I finally got my pneumonia shot at age 68 and I should have done it sooner. It's a lifetime shot so you only get it once and you can get it in your doctor's office the next time you go for your yearly check up.
Wait for that.
The pcv is being improved over time to include more strains.
Also it primarily protects you from those pneumococci that cause invasive disease.
@@sciencefliestothemoon2305 I didn't know that. I wonder if when the new improved vaccine is ready if I could ask my doctor to give me a do-over on my original shot? I'm pretty sure that I won't be the only elderly person wanting the greater protection that the new vaccine offers.
@@vickyabramowitz2885 the old one pcv13 should be readily available the new one pcv20 is out now, you would have to ask your GP if it is available.
There is also occasionally still a very old one ppv23, which can be boostered by the new one.
Pcv13 can be boostered usually after a year with pcv20 to add the coverage of the other 7 strains
Politicians should take note. It shouldn’t be about power. It’s about being of service and taking seriously the trust and responsibility the public places with you. If they all followed this example how different this country would be.
Arhnolldd is a positive type that wants to bring people closer together in understanding and co-operation. He is and always has been a motivator, that wants us to see and... comprise with each other. Goodness, he has lived so many different lives. I don't think he would go back into politics - especially at a perceived "lower level" as the U S House of Representatives, but it would be good for the country if he did ...
plz just release the pod as a full length vid ty

Schwarzenegger always is hillarious😂
I love listening to this guy! I saw him on a beach once, smoking a cigar at sunset. He was in silhouette and looked so sublime (and badass) that I didn’t bug him by saying hey. I can’t help ask, Hey Conan, when he talks right to you, do you picture Bill Hader?
Update:
It's worth adding that a case which could affect the hypothetical situation above has been brought forward to the US Supreme Court as recently as a year ago.
You don't often get to see how charming Arnold is, this interview is wonderful.
Easily the best episode ever.
The man really loves California
He's got a lot of love in general. Seriously amazing dude
Only thing i think of when Arnold talks is Dana Carvey's impression 😆
When Governor Swarzenegger started in public policy, i'd never expected him to be as prudent & pragmatic with a display of tangible integrity than most every other politician we see regularly today... All with a disposition of service. Dig.
while he was young... he was the strongest. while old? his wisdom has become his best trait.
What an unbelievable man, Arnold, thank you, thank you so much for all your strength and inspiration. I wish you all the best in this world❤
Love and highly respect you as an accompmished great leader and legendary actor. ❤❤❤❤❤ You'll be back, in my heart.... ALWAYS
I remember when he was in, the popular thing to say was "my governor can kick your governor's ass"
One of the MOST impressive Americans we have ever had. His faults aside as a man. He is an amazing human.
I❤Arnold!!!
His accent is so recognizable and everything he says, sounds cool.
this guy would so quickly get voted into presidential office, if only he would be allowed to run
Wish he would run again. Anything is better than the clown we have as governor now. The state is a disaster.
For anyone that lived in Cali during his time as gov, how was he? Good or bad things he did or allowed etc?
Honestly, Arnold was the last great politician I can think of and easily the best Governor of California I can remember since I've been alive (born in 1976)
He WORKED. He bridged the two sides of the political aisle. He may be a Republican but he was a very center of the road one who wasn't stuck on "no taxes, guns, free market, no oversight" he actually tried to make things work. He was FANTASTIC.
And I say this as a mostly identifying Democrat
@@damianlee5438 Yet, he could not let go of his strong-man image and had tow death row inmates who had been in prison for decades, one of them over 80 years old and blind executed when he could easily have released them as both were far from being a danger to anyone.
Run for President Arnold ~ we have nothing only idiots ~ .....men
People are not hungry for bipartisanship at all at all though. People are more tribal than ever.
He would have made one of the best Presidents of the United States that there has ever been
The Irony, The first time I saw Arnold was on the Debut of the movie Conan, watched him go from there to governor of my state, "when it was still good." And Now on Conan...lol Great Job Arnold.
Arnold have so much to Conan in this interview, and us.
“It’s not a ruma”!
Just one word, Awesome!
He still looks healthy/good, you'd think hitting the gear back then so much would set him back with age. He still seems to be mentally and physically crushing it.
I think “so much” may be a stretch. The difference with Arnold’s class and the newer classes is the old dogs didn’t abuse it. They cycled leading up to competition, then stopped. The point wasn’t to get all the meathead muscles possible, it was to win competitions. No comp, no need for gear.
I really wanna see him go all silver. the brown hair/gray eyebrows is definitely a look.
It’s not a rumor! 🤣
We would all pay to subscribe for full video podcasts
One day😢 😅
"It's not a rumaaa!"😂
I'm loving his book ❤
Im named after kyle reese i met a famous actress named summer glau who played a female terminator in the tv series 2007to 09 im excited for arnolds book i bought it cant wait to read it.
Can someone PLEASE tell me what jacket conan is wearing in this? 😢
OK but where is Conan's awesome jacket from?
if Arnold could run for President. He would be great and win with a landslide!
