korean philosphy being conservative bc they already take preventatives like sun protection, collegen jellies, etc. so they don't need that intense/quick results like U.S. whose lifeystyle doesn't revolve around skincare. So now they have to do all these intense/quick strong results to see the difference and make a change. I think korean approach is great for the youth (or ppl who damaged their skin barrier) since they have the least amount of damages to their skin and as you get older the U.S. approach can be slowly added in as you age.
I am team BOTH Korea and USA! I use both Tir Tir and Jung Saem Mool cushion foundations, and yes, the JSMool is truly elegant. I use the BOJ sunscreen, but also would love to try the Round Lab brand. I’ve been a Skin1004 Light cleansing oil user for years, and really love it…haven’t tried Aestura nor CosRx, as I have unlimited access to Cerave and La Roche Posay cicaplast B4 balm for skin barrier protection. Thank you for the informative and fun video!
I love the Round Lab sunscreen but sometimes especially on hot sunny and humid days it can clog my pores up. Numbuzin No 1 sunscreen however does not and I've noticed a drastic reduction of whiteheads after using it. Love the Numbuzin sunscreen it's my new love
I've been using the RoundLab sunscreen for many many years and also tried the BOJ sunscreen when it first came out. Although everyone says the formulas are similar, I had a skin reaction to their products no matter if it was sunscreen or serum, I would get hives on my face every time i used any product from BOJ but I would be completely find with any of RoundLab products.
I have really resilient skin, but the BOJ sunscreen irritated my skin too. 🤷♀️ My face looked and felt inflamed after application. I’ve literally never had that with any of the hundreds of other Korean products I’ve tried..
My default combo is the snail mucin cosrx in combination with the Dear Klairs Ampoule Mist. It gives me just perfect hydration and my facial psoriasis tolerates it without a problem. I use it for multiple years and can't recoment it enough! Still also love most of the other products. ❤
I'm really glad I went with JSM as my first foray into cushion foundations. The formulation and texture is extremely elegant. I just wished it was unscented or at least not so heavily scented! If you have any recos that's similar to JSM but not so fragranced, please share!
TIRTIR Red Cushion is worth the price even without the Refill more cheaper and more worth the price because when using TIRTIR Cushion a little goes a really long way just a little amount of using the TIRTIR Cushion and when used alone is worth a Cushion and Refill.
From Singapore here! I’ve tried sunscreens from several Korean skincare brands, including Round Lab and BOJ. My favourites are BOJ Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh and Anua Heartleaf Silky Moisture Sun Cream, which I find the most oily skin friendly😊
I am having very sensitive, dry, acne-prone skin and almost every product breaks me out because my skin either doesn't like the ingredients or because it doesn't hydrate my skin enough. The BOJ sunscreen is just SO GOOD it's hydrating and gives a nice finish! The JSM cushion is breaking me out really badly and my skin gets dryer and dryer throughout the day, so sadly it's not for me. The best cushion I've found so far is the A+ one from TROIAREUKE: It's expensive but looks AMAZING and is super hydrating!! I haven't tried out the mentioned cleansing oils so far, because my favorite has been the Ginseng one from BOJ for many years now. In can recommend BOJ products in general, because they are affordable, gentle and hydrating!
Happy new year!!! I think it's logical to have different preferences in Korea. They have a different style of life, they eat different food and that clean glass skin is genetic in my opinion.
I love the tirtir one but its super unforgiving without moisturized skin and if you apply any more than half a cushion for the full face. It is still full coverage with that very tiny amount though and looks very skin like. I have heard people say it oxidized but that never happened on me. But I also use the back of the cushion holder to spread it out before applying it directly on my face, so that might help
I have mixed skin and I tried Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica, BoJ and Roundlab sunscreens and I am a Roundlab girly. But the other two were great as well, Roundlab wins by a tiny margin.
I’ve purchased the Jung Saem Mool cushion two years ago in SK and it’s the best cushion I’ve owned so far (and I’ve tried a lot of brands) and I also purchased the Tirtir one lat summer and I don’t understand the hype… I don’t really like it :/
I love Skin1004 because I have really sensitive and acne-prone skin and can't use any other daily cleansers besides the centella oil and foam cleansers. I also use the Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule with no breakouts, which really helped my uneven skin tone.
Hi Soo, I loved the idea of this video and I think you capture very well the philosophy of what we are looking for in the West. I live in latin america. I have been using corean cosmetics for more than 10 years, however, for my dry skin I look for more nutritious products, and I am obsessed with the formulation of the Haru Haru Wonder essence, the Black Rice Probiotics Barrier essence, I think you might love it, also the Benton vitamin C and in terms of sunscreens I am looking for one without Tinosorb M like the Skin 1004 one, the Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Glow Sun Ampoule which is perfect for my dry skin, I also like the BOJ one. I am very interested in the products with PDRN, I am going to order one to see if it can give me the benefits they say. And I like the lighter cushions, I plan to order the Parnell one or the TFIT one. A hug Soo and happy 2025 🎉🎉🎉🎉😘
Awwww thanks for sharing your recommendations! I also really like the Haru Haru Wonder Essence as well >.< Yesss if you're looking for a lighter version, the Parnell will suit way better than the Tirtir one!! :)
Jung Saem Mool has had years to expand her shade range. I can't use her product, so that decision is made for me. I wont be using any JSM products. If she's gonna pretend I don't exist, I'm going to pretend she doesn't exist! 😂
Hi Soo, great video❤❤❤I live in the West and have access to many skincare brands, but no OY unfortunately😂😂😂but I use and love the skin1004, round lab, aestrura and Jung Saem Mool. I do have the Tirtir in a few shades and use only when I need to have more than 8 hours coverage at an event. I find the colours run a bit yellowish, maybe it is just me, cannot find the perfect colour😂😂
But even Olive Young rankings are not a real indicator, they push whatever suits them. According to the Korean Cosmetics Association official sales ranking the Round Lab sunscreen was only #18 in 2024...there are many more sales channels besides OY
Yes that is very true as well! Coupang is also another huge retailer in Korea as they have a very speedy shipping and there are other channels as well! I'll also take the other platforms into consideration next time :)
What do you think of the the Gangnam Glow sunscreen? As an American this one interests me for a couple reasons. First of all… it has legit good reviews. Secondly… I used to work for a Samsung contractor and think it’s cool it has an LG logo.
Very surprised to hear the tir tir cushion is almost matt on your skin, i have oily skin with dry patches and it's super glowy on me, even on non oily parts. i really love it but i wish there was a 15N shade, gotta mix 13 and 17 for now
I tried TirTir cushion and it oxidizes crazy! It would keep oxidizing the whole day. I tried it 3 times and still the same. Now it’s sitting in my drawer and will go to trash soon.
Such a lazy topic for a video. Who cares what popular where? The world and you subscribers come from different places than these two. No creativity for videos whatsoever.

I LOVE the Round Lab sunscreen ! Its not sticky on your skin, it looks good with makeup on. Perfect for me
korean philosphy being conservative bc they already take preventatives like sun protection, collegen jellies, etc. so they don't need that intense/quick results like U.S. whose lifeystyle doesn't revolve around skincare. ohhh that is a very good point!!! :)

The Aestura cream is my holy grail for the winter ❄️ It gives me the perfect moisture.
Please do a video of your fave/most used lip products! The shades you use are gorgeous 🥰
I love the Round Lab sunscreen but sometimes especially on hot sunny and humid days it can clog my pores up. Numbuzin No 1 sunscreen however does not and I've noticed a drastic reduction of whiteheads after using it. Love the Numbuzin sunscreen it's my new love
Also my no1. And i tried over 10 diff sunscreens!
I've been using the RoundLab sunscreen for many many years and also tried the BOJ sunscreen when it first came out. I’ve literally never had that with any of the hundreds of other Korean products I’ve tried..
Aestura any day as a moisturizer
But the best sunscreen is still Numbuzin No. 1 😊
ooooh I also LOVE that one as well from Numbuzin! :)
My default combo is the snail mucin cosrx in combination with the Dear Klairs Ampoule Mist. It gives me just perfect hydration and my facial psoriasis tolerates it without a problem. I use it for multiple years and can't recoment it enough! Still also love most of the other products. ❤
Whattt I did not know that Dear Klairs had an ampoule mist!! Thanks for letting me know >.

This video was so helpful and fun to watch! Thank you, always~
감사합니다 for this video Soo! I am more team Korea. After my travels to Korea I stick to their skincare trends.
Greetings from Texas, USA! Thanks for this video! I am always interested in seeing what’s popular in SK.
Good Morning Soo. Your vlogs are inspiring and super exciting.
Happy new year!!! I think it's logical to have different preferences in Korea. They have a different style of life, they eat different food and that clean glass skin is genetic in my opinion.
We appreciate you for sharing this with us🥰

German American married to a Korean American. This has shown me how Korean I am lol. I use every single one of the popular korean ones.
heheheheheheh love that for you >.
This video was very helpful thank youuu
Not to say the BOJ one if used constantly has a very brightening effect (i noticed on myself, it's not written anywhere i think), maybe for the rice
I have mixed skin and I tried Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica, BoJ and Roundlab sunscreens and I am a Roundlab girly. But the other two were great as well, Roundlab wins by a tiny margin.
can you do foundations/bb creams that are actually popular in korea
I’ve purchased the Jung Saem Mool cushion two years ago in SK and it’s the best cushion I’ve owned so far (and I’ve tried a lot of brands) and I also purchased the Tirtir one lat summer and I don’t understand the hype… I don’t really like it :/
Love your shirt!
aww thank youuuu >.
수~~❤라운드 랩 선크림을 몇년째 쓰고 있는데요.끈적임 없어서 너무 좋아요~~~이번 영상 좋아요 👍 👍
Your top looks so pretty 😊
aww thank youuu >.

Thank you for this video Soo!
completely out of topic but in the intro, the video editor blurred out the products so cleanly. how did they do that? T_T
Can we have a perfume review?? I see some good ones behind you. 😊
Thank you so much for this! May I ask what lipstick you’re wearing? It looks fabulous on you!💓
I loved this idea for this video. I would love more on what is popular in Korea 😊
Jung Saem Mool has had years to expand her shade range. I can't use her product, so that decision is made for me. I wont be using any JSM products. If she's gonna pretend I don't exist, I'm going to pretend she doesn't exist! 😂
I’m European and used the round lab one for years 😭

Manyo or Skin 1004, which one is better for dry and sensitive skin?
as long as the skincare works on your skin.

What about aqua cleansers guys
Can you do your favorite body care?
What do you think of the the Gangnam Glow sunscreen? As an American this one interests me for a couple reasons. First of all… it has legit good reviews. Secondly… I used to work for a Samsung contractor and think it’s cool it has an LG logo.
It's GOOD!! I love that it has a very subtle natural tint to it >.
Very surprised to hear the tir tir cushion is almost matt on your skin, i have oily skin with dry patches and it's super glowy on me, even on non oily parts. i really love it but i wish there was a 15N shade, gotta mix 13 and 17 for now
I only buy products that works for me only and easy access and replenish able

Such a lazy topic for a video. Who cares what popular where? The world and you subscribers come from different places than these two. No creativity for videos whatsoever.
Not for me. I’m in the US and it’s nice to see what Koreans actually like.
What an odd and rude thing to comment. I was actually looking for this topic earlier as someone in the US
Here's a novel idea for you....Don't like it, don't watch!
I loved the video 🥰
@@JClover2 I didn't. Same thing as couple weeks ago anyway.
