This is great. I was just talking to my husband about trying to use up the oldest things in our pantry this week. We are cutting back because we've had various of our kids and family living with us over the past year, and now suddenly everyone will be out of the house starting next week except me and my husband. We could probably live for two months on just the food we have in our cupboards and freezer, and need to use some of it before it expires. You have such great ideas that I wouldn't think of. I love all of your videos and your creative ways of combining what you have to make something interesting and delicious!
Inspired by your ideas and I use more nutritional options when I can. Wish you well. Thanks for sharing your ideas and easy video format. Peace & Injoy
Potatoes are the best way to de-salt salty ingredients, so great choice of steak fries. It may not have worked with pre-fried potatoes, but the ones you used allowed the ham salt to be absorbed.😊😊😊😊😊
Those enchiladas look so good and pickled jalapeños would be good on or in it too. Everything you made looks amazing thanks for sharing the recipes too. You rock 🥰
You are absolutely brilliant using what you had on hand to create delicious dishes. Tip - muffins are easier to release from the liners once they have totally cooled. However if you have some cooking spray you can spray your liners if you think you will have any problems
I was gifted a sturdy old bookcase and Im using it as a pantry. Never had one and its great! If you are short, like me, it's a game changer. I have lots of cupboards that I cant reach but it's all accessable in the bookcase. Yeah!!
Ahhhh so creative!! Love these no spend challenges to make way for all the good things to come. Would love to see a bfore/after shot of your pantry/fridge/freezer if you feel comfortable. I bet it’s so satisfying to see all the items you used for these great ideas!
Happy New Year! It’s amazing what you came up with. Like the tip to set everything out so you can really see what you have. I’m looking at you can of greens hanging out in the back of my pantry! Thank you for the recipes!
Happy new year! It helps a lot! I’ll do something similar with dinners too like setting out any Spanish food or Italian food ingredients to compile a dish idea
Hi Rebecca and fellow Home Economists. In the spirit of using things up, back in the 70s I had some random leftover canned peaches in the freezer and decided it would make a smoothie out of it. since they were canned peaches they were sweet enough. I added a pinch of cinnamon and some lemon (rind and juice) and voila it tasted like mango. So if you find yourself craving mango, but have some peaches lying about this will satisfy the craving until they come back in season. All the best, Jacques Mexico
Pepper Jack is just Monterrey Jack with diced Peppers in it (you can use sweet or hot combined to your spice preference). If you're melting the cheese or making a sauce just add them in. If the cheese is going in cold, Roast (or fry) the peppers in a bit of oil (salt pepper to taste, a bit of green onion) and use to garnish the cheese.
thinning out the cream cheese spinach topping with a bit of the drained spinach water woul have made it more spreadable. Loved the creativity Rebecca. The Pantry is calling me to alleviate the overcrowding.
This is very specific, but recently my partner developed alpha-gal, an alergy to all mammal meat. A neat video idea could be to make a few recipes that have no pork or beef in them? I love your content 💜
Did the Spanish rice a half bag of Santa fe blend and xl burrito the other night enough rice for 2nd meal or grab another burrito and dinner for 2 for5 bucks
Hormel canned tamales are good over rice. 1/2 can of tamales to about 2 cups of cooked rice. Pour the sauce over the rice (wish there was more sauce). I break up the tamales and mix it all together. You can get beef or chicken tamales. They taste the same to me.
Just curious...would the drained spinach "juice" add any flavor to the pasta water or would it be better added to the "soup" bag in the freezer? Anyone tried this? 🤷🏼♀️
i hope this was fixed for you eventually. your device is displaying the video poorly, her videos are nice and big on my device! she also has a lot of videos filmed in HD landscape mode if that interests you
I really like how creative you are with using what you have on hand to make your meals .

I love this idea and really need to implement this for myself. Thank you for giving us such great ideas and showing us how to cut our grocery budget.

I totally forgot to film an after of the pantry stuff 😅
Dang. You have a lot of things you can work with just lying around. Awesome video.
The enchiladas look amazing !!!
Usually, you do the beans first ,spread them out, then add the rest. Looks good tho.

My daughter ❤️ loves the Dollar Tree Takis
Id eat the enchilada mix with a spoon or chips... I really like the pasta with spinach idea

Such a great and cheap meal you are totally right! I love to do that too!
Very great ideas
This is very interesting, but the Dollar Trees near me do not have any refrigerator or frozen foods. So, very annoying!!

Your boyfriend won't go hungry.
I hope you like that Mac and cheese I really didn't like it.
I'm Muslim and see a bunch of recipes with pork. I just replace with beans, tofu,or meat alternatives.
Can you expand your screen? Not interested in watching a inch wide screen...so disappointing!
