Alot of people are really clueless to the changes in the CVT reliability that Nissan's now offer. Much different from the older models. I have this car in black and let me tell you... Such a great car to drive. Smoooooth. Interior is top in its class. Great on gas. Decent power. Can't say enough about how good this car is. Please people, don't just repeat what others say and get your info before making comments. CVTs are "unfortunately" here to stay, but they will keep getting better and better, as Nissan has shown over the years. Great car and great review!
Well said. How many of the whiners actually changed the CVT fluid ? 1/10
Exactly well said.
I got transmission issue on my Rogue 2020 at 3x,xxx km.
They should replace CVT on Rogue just like what they did on Infiniti QX60.
I knew the older nissant cvts were bad but since I work at a nissan dealership I asked the master tech about the newer cvts. He said they would get in sporadic warranty claims to replace the cvts on the older year models but 2021 and up he said they haven't had any warranty claims on the new cvts. This master tech has been at the same dealership for 20 years so I believe him.
Yeah, they are still going to be mostly low miles though, but I think if you replace fluid every 30K miles, they'll last you the lifetime of the vehicle.
CVTX on the 1.5L rogues is chain driven with a huge torque converter. I think Nissan got sick of dealing with transmission issues and kinda went overboard.
@@Erdie5 I had a Murano and the transmission went on me just over 100K. Very aggravating. Thats the one thing in my mind that would hold me bck from getting another Nissan. So this Rogue I wouldnt have those problems you are saying ?
@@garyconstantino6408 It's hard to say for sure. But this transmission was first put in the Altima back in 2019, and checking NHTSA as well as our dealer, transmission complaints have disappeared for that car since the new transmission went in. Still, like any CVT, they do need their fluid changed and do not tolerate being neglected like multi speed automatics do.
It’s excellent value for money than anything. And the interior is best in its class.
Don’t talk about reliability if you haven’t owned a Nissan from 2016 and up they have been nothing but reliable
my family has had pre 2010 and 2016 nissans. All have had bad transmissions. Constant transmission work. I will never trust nissan again. Dad was obsessed with nissan for looks. 90% of our cars were nissan and all of them had transmission issues. lost money on the most recent car
@@jorgedeaguinaga2632 didn’t change the oil every 5k miles
@@jamaricoleman1383 probably not but that's also ridiculous changing every 5k. They don't even recommend it every 5k
@@jamaricoleman1383changing oil every 5k doesn’t have any effect on the transmission. The rest of the cars are actually pretty good, but whatever you do maintenance wise doesn’t solve the improperly engineered/manufactured CVTs
@@davewilson7602 for me Nissan ha been re liable
Not a vehicle I’d be interested in driving, but the comments on so many of these videos with people yapping about the power and trivial 💩 there are still people who buy vehicles just to get from A to B and don’t need anything flashy or high powered. The average driver who does a daily commute in a city with highways and some traffic don’t need or want 250+ HP or 6cyl
Its only 200 HP and also 4 cyl and you would really appreciate it if you test drove one. I have a 2020 Honda CRV EXL and the power in this Rogue is so much better when your pulling out into a road or highway. Helps blend into traffic when people these days are going 70-80+ on the highway.
Excellent review as always!😸
Thorough review job as always, guys.
This format is excellent, really covers all the bases!
I got the 2024 SL AWD with all Tech package, and I am pretty impressed with my Rogue. Absolutely beast!!!
Bought this model and color 2 wks ago and LOVE it!!! Had a 2019.
The variable compression engine is under federal investigation for engine's blowing up with little to no miles on them. Over 500 k plus are affected.......good luck with yours
@@1976axerhandThe 3 cylinder engine is terrible!!
@@charlesjackson1700 yup, the federal government thinks it's crap to, since they have an ongoing investigation over the engines, yet people keep buying them.lol
Great video 😊
Thank you, friend!
Wow that interior is swag ngl.....my sister had a 2012 and the Rogue has really come a long way
The2012 Nissan Rogue was very bulbous.. a lot of trouble with the CVT transmission.
You 😊 guys did an awesome job on the review! Very thorough! I plan on purchasing a new vehicle at the end of the year and the rouge is definitely a viable option of mine. Alongside of the many positives its in my price range and offers a lot of bang for the buck😅
Thanks!
I have a 2009 Murano Le that runs like it did brand new…smooth and quiet… because I don’t have a garage the paint around the doors above the windows is fading… everything works perfect even the air.. I have always gotten the scheduled maintenance and am still happy with my Nissan!.
I have 2017 Murano. It is very comfortable. The only thing I do not like in it is its body roll, but I guess it has to be that way in order to be so smooth.
Nice looking car ❤
unfortunately Nissan dealers don't have this prices in their stickers when you want to buy a Nissan Rogue. Good review
Very nice ride. How reliable is that 1.5T? So small and an I3 makes me wonder, and is my main pause. It has the style though. One thing the RAV4 is currently lacking these days. And that shiny cladding looks good, but concerned how it will age.
The new chain-driven CVT in these should basically eliminate CVT issues from these cars. (Altima too) I'm sure Nissan is more than ready to turn the page on that.
As for the vehicle itself, Nissan's always done a good job of making the Rogue competitive in the segment, and that seems to have continued for sure. Huge thumbs up for sticking with real buttons for HVAC controls. And sun shades in the second row is wild, I hope all other manufacturers add those as well, along with the soft touch door panels in the second row. That's crazy. Lots of things not typical for this segment/non-luxury cars.
They should have gone with the Kicks like look in this model too .. That 2025 kicks looks Hulk like
I just bought the 2024 Nissan Rogue SL a week ago and oh my goodness, i absolutely love it in the Boulder Grey Pearl and I have gotten so many compliments with the colour. The interior, love it and the technology, I’m still learning from it but it was the best purchase I ever made. ❤😊
Congrats on your new Rogue!
Love the updates! Do you think the 2025 Pathfinder Platinum will receive the same upgrades? If so, it will definitely be on my radar. The Korean twins and Toyota dealers are asking for sticker/over sticker price which would make the Pathfinder a great deal in my book!
Most likely!
Great reviews, gentlemen like always, ignore all the heaters. Everyone has their opinions they’re like assholes. Everyone has one in every car has their problems and brands makes and models by what you like everyone whatever makes you happy live your life and be happy and don’t argue. And God bless and enjoy the weekend and every day, gentlemen everyone here.
Thanks and we hope you have a great weekend as well! ☺️
You’re welcome guys and thank you.
oh and i forgot to let u know that we have herein germany ,the hybrid cars. THX GUY
Nissan has previously sold a Rogue Hybrid in the US. It didn't offer buyers a significant enough improvement in fuel economy to justify the higher price. Same with the Murano Hybrid that was briefly offered.
Makes me want to trade in my SV 2021
Yes of course & I would considered buy this.
thanks
3 cylinder is insane. I’m waiting for the hybrid
Nissan have this car as xtrail comes with Nissan e power hybrid averaging over 45 miles to the gallon very good
Can you get one with a trailer hitch? I have a bike hitch on my CR-V and there is no way I could ever lift a bike to mount on the top of the vehicle
So I was washing my car yesterday, and noticed that there was not an exposed tailpipe, and let me tell you -- if you wash your own car, it's rather cool not to have a visible tailpipe.
I noticed Honda has started adding visible tail pipes as well. So silly. Just tuck it away.
Hay Hello Guys
I had just watched your youtub video, not bad ,well i and my wife ordered a nissan (X- TRAIL Tekna + T33a 2023) this is what it´s called in Germany ,we will be recieveing it in june or july and i thank you for explaining about the Rogue ,well i don´t know what is wrong with some of these car makers, ,there r some things that i see that you have in the Rogue that we don´t have here?, like the levers or latch for the 2 back row seats to lower them down from the trunk and the engine autostart butten on the remote ,it is not aloud in germany because of pollution matters ,also they didn´t offer you any front windshield heater, it´s made like the back windsheild but for the front, and that u dont have, ventilated seats ,they are in the pathfinder ,but they are not in any other nissan cars, and i´ve tryed to order them but no, nissan will not do it.but thanks anyway for the info.
Sir you did not compare the two midsize rivals Grand highlander and Hyundai palisade yet.Plz compare them.❤Vote for comparison ❤
Yes we need that comparison❤
Great Idea❤❤
It might be a great comparison ❤
Thanks for the idea and we might be able to do that comparison soon 👍

What’s that background noise? A wood chipper? A sewing machine?
That POS engine is under us federal investigation for engines blowing up.. over 500k plus are affected..... When the variable compression engine fails it throws rods through the block.
Nissan made some changes to the engine but only time will tell if it works. And it is not investigation, but kind of preliminary proceeding that can end up in investigation.
@@spol1622 what a software update? Lol.
@@spol1622 Seems to be isolated to some bearings in some of the US built ones. They've changed that. Still a shame, brilliant engine hampered by a lousy bearing supplier.
What would the life of a hybrid system be?
How is the driving mechanics and ride compared to the Rav4? More truck or sedan like?
About the same. Everything in this class drives like a slightly taller sedan for the most part
Nissan Rogue Platinum 👍🏿😊🌻👍🏻
The interior is really nice and I like the facelifted exterior too however I CAN’T GET PAST the 3-cylinder. The CVT isn’t my favorite transmission but I don’t mind it. If the engine and transmission were changed, I would like this car but as of right now I don’t, hopefully Nissan sees where I’m coming from!
Love your video
@@DominionAnako-bb7ry my video bc I only made 1?
You might try Mazda with the CX5. Its not quite as roomy, and I'm not a fan of the base engine, and 6-speed means its not as efficient, but its very traditional and high resale value and high reliability reports. Personally, the engine is why I went with the Nissan, its one of the few in this segment where the base engine is the same as the top of the line and the technology while complicated is extremely impressive for both the engine and transmission from a technical standpoint. Who ever would have thought we could have engines that change their compression ratio on the fly from 8 to 14? And over 200hp out of a 1.5 liter engine? On 87 octane? While getting 37mpg highway with FWD? This is amazing!
@@BoopSnoot I do really like the CX5 however if I was shopping in this segment of vehicle I think I’d choose a CRV Hybrid all though the biggest con with that is that there is no option for cooled seats
@@CarGeek360 I passed on it for a few reasons: Big markups on hybrids (or they lowball your tradein), not much storage in cab, infotainment outdated and small for the price, noisy engine, weird ceiling mounted rear seat belt hump, high MSRP. For example, I got my 37mpg 205hp Rogue S for just over $30K out the door after haggling and discounts which has been hugely practical. The CRV Sport Hybrid only came in black and white (not my favorite), the white has a $500 upcharge, and the dealer wanted $39.3K after taxes and fees, nearly $10K over the Rogue and the CRV was no nicer inside and did no better in real-world highway fuel economy.
Coming to a hood near you!!!!!
You know Dat's Right 👍😅
You're thinking Altimas that came out of rental fleets... although, rental fleets are buying a lot of Rogues too, hmmm...
Are you able to explain a 4 decibel difference between a 2024 Rogue and the 2024 Rogue Platinum? Do they put that much more sound deadeningin the Platinum model?? That seems like quite a difference.
Could be the tires too.
@@TGZ32 never thought of that, the larger tires could make that diff. Thanks.
Nissan didn't really say what they did differently but it seems like they definitely used more sound deadening for the Platinum
I test drove a 2024 Platinum and it was surprisingly quiet for non luxury. I actually think it's similiar to the 2022 BMW X5 ( which has alot of road noise from giant 21 inch summer performance tires)
What do you prefer -- the Rogue or the Sportage SX Prestige?
Do the black seats get super hot?
They don’t!
Good looking vehicle. My neighbor's wife leased one in a silver/black roof color combination but is very unhappy with the CVT transmission. The transmission ruins the ambience of the car which is quite nice overall. Would I buy one, no, I don't trust the transmission, and I don't trust the longevity of the 3-cylinder engine considering the failure of her previous Ford Escape 3-cylinder.
JDM Platinum Trim beats RAV4 hands down.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nissan, Please come to India with some good SUV's like this.
It looks alright
Man...they should have upgraded that cvt trans more than anything
They did upgrade the CVT, its an all new CVT-X, won awards for innovation, dual oil pumps, highest in class ratio spread, was introduced in 2022.
RAV4 Hybrid over this. 2024 is the year of Hybrids.
Big Rogue Energy
Looks nice but not a fan of any CVT..3 cylinder?? Why is Nissan going smaller in engine size??? EPA says 28 mpg city, but over a week of city driving you are getting just over 26 mpg???
You clearly don't see where the auto industry is going if you're questioning engine downsizing.
It's a cool engine, but the Feds are investigating it for blowing up a lot. I think Nissan will work the kinks out.
??????
Dude, the sunroof is spaced apart, so you're measuring wrong.
I lost interest after hearing about 3 cyl with CVT
Just wait until they go single cylinder
Me too 😭
If a heavy 4Runner or a Grand Highlander have a 4 cylinder, Why is it an issue a Rouge having a 3cyl?
@@videochubecause those models are electrified and have electric motors helping the engine so it’s less stressed. Not only that but Nissan uses variable compression which is an electric actuator inside the engine connected to the crank that changes the compression ratio. Combined with turbo charging it’s extremely over complicated and prone to catastrophic failure.
@@videochu I have an issue with the 4Runner having a 4 cylinder too, the Grand Highlander is a hybrid so it’s not AS big of an issue in there
this thing should be no more than 35,000 tbh.
A three cylinder with a continuously variable transmission? Sorry guys, I can’t watch the rest of your video.
3 cylinder ...
Too bad the RAV4 looks the way it does, there’s no perfect vehicle out there.
Hybrids are too expensive. If you are trying to outprice your customers, that is how you will go.
engine design = a disaster about to happen. what complicated design and failure. watch out vidoes about these engines and their premature failure. NISSAN is still lost in the deep ocean since they introduced their CVT
3 Cylinder 😨
is really good in real world driving though. no problem accelerating
@@Cory69Dubious.
@@Cory69extremely over complicated though, including the VC turbo 4 in the Altima.
A terrible problematic, underwhelming piece of garbage.👎
No ventilated seats is no go.
Don't buy this is number one depreciation SUV
Get away from Nissan vehicles that have CVT! Get the Pathfinder instead or anything that doesn't have Nissan's CVT. I'm taking from experience. Nissan makes the worst CVT out there. If you don't want to pay thousands of dollars to fix the CVT, then don't get it!
I AM NEVER GETTING A NISSAN VEHICLE EVER. it is worst than Hyundai and Kia
There is no way I would ever consider a Nissan. Toyota ability to hold value and overall quality is just so so much better than Nissan. If it were not for fleet sales Nissan couldn’t give cars away. The only positive thing I have to say about Nissan is the Heismann House commercials
Add the fact that the Nissan’s interior is a nicer place to spend time in. Toyota still builds better though.
It is clear you have never owned a Nissan. I have a Murano and have rented Rav4 several times and I can say Rav4 are dull, boring and underwhelming. Overhyped thanks to the undeniable reputation Toyota has built. Still I love my Murano.
RAV4 are over price bare basic vehicles that have engine sludge problems
@@videochu In the past Nissan built some really great vehicles, never owned any because I freely admit to being a Toyota fan boy. Will take you at your word the Murano has served you well, I am guessing it is not equipped with the dumpster fire CVT transmission Nissan put out? Altima used to be a really sweet little sedan fun to drive until they cursed it with that transmission. Overall, I just think long term ownership wise, you got a better shot with Toyota products, nothings perfect. The interiors are nothing special, I just want it to work it does not have to dazzle me. Never bought a Toyota for performance just to be reliable and last 10-15 years. Outside of living in Germany driving the autobahn everyday never needed to be dazzled by performance or needed anything special. Point A to B without fail, and Toyota does it really dam well.
@@videochuNissan Murano's are terrible I know someone that had the transmission to come out three times in 70K.. They burn gas worse than a full size truck...
Terrible 3 cylinder garbage 🗑️😂
Rather get a Kia or Hyundai over both of them.
Drove the top models of both the Tuscon and Sportage...this is a much better drive. As soon as you sit in those 2 vehicles the quality is immediately apparent. The Rogues interior feels extremely premium.
Kia Hyundai junk. My 23 Santa Cruz limited was a piece of crap. Trans issues. Rock punctured the razor thin radiator at 1,200 miles.. not covered under warranty. ventilated seats were laughable.. no air flow. Gas mileage? Awful... be lucky to crack 21mpg driving like a grandma. Any time went to 3 different dealers for literally anything they were bad. No rentals available.. drop it off.. 2-3 weeks for any diagnosis/repair. Never again .
@@TGZ32 Did you dump it? I have a 22 SF going back. Was considering 25 SC. Though they don’t lease that well. My buddy has a 22 Limited and it’s been ok.
@@night5091 Traded it in last year November 2023. It was a 2023 model not 24 *
@@TGZ32 Gotcha, Assume you replaced it? With a Rogue? Something else.
Worse quality than ford or GM
This vehicle outside of North America (X-Trail) is available as a hybrid, I wonder why this hasn't happened for your market. I believe its the same 1.5L turbo motor used in the hybrid models.
What I don’t get is why the e-Power Xtrail needs a turbo engine. From what understand e-Power only uses the electric motors to move the car and the engine is generator (a NA engine could handle that no problem). I dislike this 3 cylinder because of its unreliability, so it’s really unfortunate.
45 k for this is too much 😂
