- We cooked a lamb roast over the campfire and camped out in our tent in freezing conditions. This video is to celebrate reaching 5000 subscribers. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us along the way we really appreciate it. This was a really fun but big effort wild camp and cook. The hike in was rather long with our heavy packs loaded up with treats. I hope you all enjoy the video and the beautify location.

If you do decide to try pizzas I have done it once. What is a must have to make backcountry pizzas is one of those clamshell grills. I have done it both calzone style or the regular way, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that you do not want cheese as the last layer of your toppings because it will stick all over the grill and make it nightmare to get the pizza off the clamshell style grill.

Enjoyed watching you camping out and eating self cooked food. Watched you erecting your tent, collecting wood and breaking it with speed so that it may become fit to use in the hearth. You both set to work and the camping is complete with in no time. You enjoy wine or beer to relax after long strenuous journey, You show the bottle or cans so that the viewers may easily read the name of the product. After it you take a healthy food which is necessary requirement to refurbish our lost energy. You have a good night rest in your cozy tent. You make your bedding more comfortable after filling air where it is provided for. In the morning you start for your onward journey after closing your tent with in a few seconds. It looks as if this is very easy. You tread a long way daily. I feel for Victoria. How she manages to compete with her strong man daily on the extremely tiring hiking adventures. Abel, your pronunciation is a bit difficult to understand. But still we take help from the foot notes that are there for the help of the viewers. Your videos are very interesting. I watch them eagerly because they are very informative. You keep telling about your camping equipment and other essentials items. Some times you use track route map and keep sharing it with viewers. You told that you are hiking in New Zeeland. From this point of view your videos are very informative. Some times the information about your camping material and other essential items disappears from the video location, you should take note of it. It is a necessary information and it should run along with every them especially on the You Tube. It is in the interest of the sellers of such material. This is for what they sometimes sponsor the would be hikers. I keep subscribing you and liking your videos. I am commenting from Punjab, India.

Top Tip for a moderately drunken evening, use Ginger Wine (Crabbies or Stones here in the UK) as a mixer for Whisky, it's known here as a 'Whisky Mac', it's lovely, just use a blended Scotch Whisky Victoria, I promise you'll love it. It's likely that Abel will too however. Something like a 70 Wine/30 Whisky ratio should be spot on. Congrats on hitting the 5K mark too.

AWESOME video! The Nemo Alpine mummy is what I have - very compact and you can instantly feel the heat coming back at you when you lay down and doesn't sound like a chip packet when you move. The only issue is if you have broad shoulders you will find your arms are not on the pad when laying on your back and arms by your side. I should have waited until the rectangle version (Abel's one) came back into stock. Don't forget to wax the Scarpas! There is so much wax on my Scarpas now that I can tramp in streams and wet mud for hours and my feet don't get wet. Way better than Gore-tex.
Yeah the nemo pads are comfortable and pack down tiny. I am going to see how cold I can push my tensor insulated this winter. I’m going to put some hs12 cream on my boots today. This Is scarpa product worked good on my other boots. I don’t like goretex so much now. My feet seems less damp without it.

Ok, as I have fallen for you guys and your superb videos (and efforts!), and going back to watch your older videos I have a few comments; 4 months later to present and no 20K subs! Congratulations.
Your Gear- I am amazed at your ever changing and evolving choices! Wow, it can be addictive, perhaps.
As I have quite some experience myself the only next level game changer recommendation I have is a DCF type of Tent. Ridiculous weight savings, don’t absorb water, no sagging!

Hello both of you.. You have inspired me to do more cooking in the wild. I am a self taught chef and forage and cook what i find. One question to you,What socks would you suggest to wear at night in bed as my feet get so cold and it wakes me up? Regards Mick..... Chef-on-the-wild-side...
Hey we have some sheep wool socks on. Make sure they are nice and dry. Mostly important thing is to have a appropriate sleeping bag and sleeping pad for the conditions
When will we see some car camps. Those would be much less stressful than walking in and then having to do all the necessary chores.
We were discussing this. We will incorporate them into the schedule soon. Need to get some new stuff to have the ultimate set up though. They should be fun

@@AbelandVictoria Rainbow trout filleted with sliced Tomato/Onion & Lemon wrapped in foil and cooked in the camp fire with chips done in the frypan as previously advised.

I am dying to know how can you be safely dri king water from lakes and rivers? In the US we absolutely must boil it or use special filters so we dont get sick. How can itbe safe to drink straight out?
