    Congrats on #4. While I still think the whole kickstarter for something in production is a little shady I'll be keeping my eye on Ugreen since they clarified warranty for third party OS thing. At the kickstarter price definitely a solid option and even at full price probably not a bad option given the hardware (assuming cooling is adaquate). Software and warranty support in the long term we will have to wait and find out.

    Interesting product - as someone who uses a NAS more often as a DAS I was sad to not see thunderbolt 4 here, but now see that the 6-bay box does have that. Happy days!

    Secondly, Fantastic video as always.
    Thirdly, I was debating on jumping on this UGreen train for the 4800+ as well, or going with a DIY NAS, Synology 923+, or Asustor 6 or 12 NVMe NAS, thoughts?

    I’ve been watching your videos for hours trying to figure out a configuration to work for my needs. Thank you, i’m getting closer. I’m a creator intensely using Adobe InDesign; 400 page documents with 100’s of images, thousands of internal links, cross references, etc. I want to build a pc that will never bog down. Any advice? There are many of us creators that use InDesign and are frustrated and confused as to what hardware components are most important.

    so with 10G lan you can't exceed 1Gb reads or writes and so 980 pro 2TB 7000MB/s reads, 5100MBs seq write speed, NVME are a waste of money. looks like a Gen 3 or Gen 4 3500MBs NVME will do just as well no?

    • @Hansen999

      YEP! All the fancy high speed NVMe's are a waste of money as long you stick to 10 GbE speeds.
      40/100+ GbE is a different scenario and a very different price tag

    This is a good nas solution if you can get by the bugs and failure in software.
    Also for the price your paying you expect for the software and hardware to work even if not the easiest.
    To put it simple, I equal this to the Intel graphics card launch, sorry folks, I've had two seen a number of reviews and we all have had issues from well that's a pain to crappy it doesn't work

    do review on JBOD TB3/4 connection. NAS is not so necessary for Indy creators. I did get a QNAP TL c800L, which is not nearly as fast, but 8 bays at 200mbps..not bat for storage. @399$ Congrats on #4 you GO!

      @xellaz หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I also own a DS1621xs+ that I luv but I still backed the 8-bay UGreen NAS version as a media server since that will definitely be better than the DS1621xs+ when it comes to Plex & media transcoding. Most of all, the hardware specs is hard to beat at their current price offering in Kickstarter.
      I plan to use the DS1621xs+ strictly for important data storage, backups, and running VMs. The DXP8800 Plus as the main media server... Serving movies, other videos, mangas, manwhas, ebooks, images, music, etc. 😁

    Which idiot would by this nas when there are nas units out there without problems? If they sent a defective unit for review, how on earth can the production versions be better? What's the point in a successful kickstarter if the product doesnt work? What's the point in highlighting its positive aspects if it doesnt work new and out of the box?

    • @RespectedDesperado
      @RespectedDesperado หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      More than 10.000 people in USA and Germany so far. Backed with more than 5 dollars million dollars. If they would ship to the whole world this amount would be 10 times more. I am a backer. Therefore I've seen every video about this thing before I backed it. And I can tell you only this guy had a problem. No one else. And as you can see with he update it works flawless. When we get it it will work fine. It has the best hardware. It can transcode anything you throw at it. And you can install any OS on it you want. You still will have warranty. And that for 400 bucks. Tell me which other brand has such a good hardware, on which you can install any OS and costs no more than 420 dollars. You go buy a 800 dollar synology with AMD and without hardware transcoding. I will buy this thing which is 2 times better. Any new electronic products will have small software problems in the beginning. It will get updated and get better month after month.

    • @alphafort
      @alphafort หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RespectedDesperado You should try to understand the point I'm making = The company, knowing this would be reviewed, sent a defective unit without testing. That said, I understood your point about this being relatively cheaper than established brands (and hence worth any "updates" etc).
