These long-term survival homes need at least triple redundancy systems. Oh, you've got food for months, but the water filtration system gave out on week 1, too bad.
I would not have guessed you were so experienced with bunker design! It's really impressive. Another good thing to note is that bunkers often have one or two right-angle corners going in because radiation travels in straight lines, so it will hit the walls at a corner and travel no further. Totally agree with you on the contamination issue, though. So many US service members have extreme cancers from working with or disposing of chemical munitions.
Third. This video is so awesome. Arvin reviewing a doomsday bunker with the same design😊 language as an $80 million mansion is killer. Next he should think about reviewing an RV, luxury plane hangar, maybe a spaceship? I guess this will be complicated because first we have to get Enes to tour the space and then Arvind has to do a reaction video.

In 2022 a missile silo was on the market for $380,000. I believe it comes with impenetrable doors The property is a decommissioned Atlas F missile silo complex on 11 acres near Abilene. The 6,900 square foot complex has two upper levels once used for launch control and living quarters. The main missile silo is 170 feet deep. Zillow, who lists the property, said the facility has water, electricity, and a forced sewage system to the ground surface. A 4,000 square foot Quonset building with water, electricity, and plumbing comes with the property.
I love "This is horrible!!" when talking about radioactive contamination risk the same way you talk about a narrow hallway or poor chandelier choice 😆Did not have you pegged as a survival expert 👌Arvin, the how to buy a bunker guy.
Years back I drove through Umatilla, OR. where there is a similar facility to this one. For mile after mile as you're driving through looking at the bunkers there's a strong chemical smell like paint thinner or something similar, just really obnoxious. So that's what you can expect at this place, everywhere you drive it's going to reek of the chemical weapons that were stored there. Absolutely the last place on earth you want to build a survival bunker for oneself. Arvin did an excellent job of pointing out how ridiculous this entire concept is. I saw no sign of an internal generator, only the exterior generator that would be taken out in the initial blast, so there's that. Then there's a need to change the air filters for the air filtration system. Where are you going to put those radioactive filters? You can't keep them inside with you, too much space wasted. Then of course there's the storage space for food, medical supplies, radioactive protection suits, water, etc. As far as the escape hatch goes, again, too narrow of a space to get out quickly, then on the back side, unless you build a structure to hide that escape hatch if someone's trying to break in you can bet they are going to scout out any way into the bunker. That escape hatch is an easy target. Because this entire structure is above ground, anyone who wants to get in only has to remove the earth around it then use a jackhammer or construction equipment to tear into the concrete, a few hours later, they would breach the structure and gain entry. So much foolishness with this entire concept. Those who paid money for this nonsense deserve to lose every penny they invested in it.
Tbf I think a nuclear attack is the least of the problems for the owners. Imagine society collapses and people get hungry and need fuel in a country armed to the teeth. After the supermarkets are emptied out - I definetly would go check out these bunkers full of stuff. This overland bunkers are problably quite easy to crack, especially if you have time because no police will show up. They are like not real bunkers, and even at real bunkers in mountains like switzerland you can get the door opened with heavy duty tools and time.
How are people even supposed to come to the bunker? Some idiot presses the red button and leaves the idiots who bought the bunker enough time to get there? Yeah, no.
Maybe war have to escalate to a pretty high level, which give people time to move to the bunker in good time before the red button is pushed? Japan was warned by the US before being nuked. I doubt China nor Russia would nuke the US "out of the blue"....

It’s great that you are expanding to other forms of housing; this video was extremely informative. You don’t just look at the bunker itself, but also how likely it’s the location attacked and why. Are you interested in doing any of his yacht tours?
I can’t wait to watch this video. But I just got home from work and am listening in to a board meeting for our HOA in Tahoe and it’s just too fraught to break away… lesson from Arvin would be, when it comes to property ownership, be careful what you sign up for and look into the HOA. His hesitance and lowering of his head when Ines asks him about how many he's sold and how many families live there, tells me he is being deceptive. His demeanor is different when he's answering those questions.

He was a fairly high-ranking official in the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). What he was describing here is the nuclear spnge-threory where the US spreads out it's nuclear ICBMs in highly-publicised locations in the midwest as they know that it will be a primary target for anyone attacking via nuclear ICBMs, which will help direct those ICBMs away from the costal areas where there is increased population density and more military-sensitive targets. And Arvin is correct, you don't want to put any type of survival shelter in these locations. You would want to put a facility underground and in a dry area where the winds won't be bring fallout (e.g. a desert environment in the West like Nevada or further north in British Columbia like Vernon Pick's (RIP) place in Lillooet).
OK, I NEVER comment on videos... I am in tears here from laughter! You did such a good job, I can't tell if you're serious or not, which is where the genius lies here. Well done!

One of the key points of having a bunker is keeping it secret, well thats impossible here. You could go door to door and loot and pillage this area for uncontaminated food and supplies.

Yup-this is not the place for a bunker, especially above ground. The US Nuclear sponge theory of the highly publicized ICBM locations in this area makes it a prime target. You need a much larger facility with far more robust power, water filtering, EMP suppression, long-term food storage, refrigeration, etc. You want to be somewhere where the prevailing winds and rain are not going to expose you to nuclear fallout. Some place like the Nevada desert (away from Area 51/Nevada Test and Training Range) or like Vernon Pick (RIP) did in Lillooet, BC Canada. And you're right - it shouldn't be a location you have to travel to as that presumes that you will have time and ability to do so. It really needs to be part of your primary residence.
"A 2000 sqft home uses about 100-150KWh in 24 hours". For reference, an average German household (3-4 members) uses about 3500KWh in an entire year, so around 10-15 times less (and is charged around 115eur/month for that electricity, so quite expensive). Also he probably didn't disclose the previous usage of the bunker or at least downplayed it. This entire project is Mickey Mouse level.

Also, the fact that there isn't faraday caging to deal with the EMP problem is another major downside - especially when they're locating generators and electronics above ground outside the bunker. ETA: I feel like the way to go if you are set on chemical weapons central is to buy 2 that are next to each other and build the ACTUAL bunker under ground connecting the two. Create two levels in the above ground bunkers - the upper level could be literally nothing but battery banks and inverters. Lower level of the above ground is nothing but mechanicals and storage, esp. fuel storage. Air locks into the two above ground bunkers, air locks between above ground bunker and below ground bunker, with additional dedicated food and water storage in the below ground area and a very reasonably sized living space bunker that basically creates a tunnel between the two above ground bunkers. This allows for much better shielding of electronics, food, and water, and the creation of a much more liveable space. at 45k for each of the above ground bunkers, once you build out the underground bunker, I feel like you could probably have a very decent bunker for a build price of under a million.
Hmm strange as it is :-) Solar power is essential and here , quite affordable . Been doing fine for 8 months , 12 x 450 w panels , 2 x 4.8 kwh batteries , now adding 4 more panels and 2 batteries . With a DB upgrade , all to code +- $11 k :-) That would work for a bunker home .
bunkers? More like secured storage they can barely take a direct hit from artillery/regular military Ordinance at best it could handle the Shockwave from a nuke because it's arched and low to the ground but anything outside is going be gone like a tornado hit the place. At best, these secured storage are rated for small arms/small ordinances. Also, they are spaced like that because, just in case whatever they are storing blows up, it doesn't cause a chain reaction.
A true self sustaining bunker with food reserves for atleast 12 months isnt something you can make for less than 5 million. There are too many systems that are needed in order to filter your air and water from any nuclear radiation. Hell US Carriers have fantastic filtration systems, and guess what. When they went to help Japan when their Nuclear reactors spilled waste into the oceans, the water filtration wasnt enough and many got radiation poisoning and cancer years later.
Gave a like just for how crazy knowledgeable you are about bunkers. I mean BUNKERS. Maybe paranoid weirdo billionaires drive a demand for luxury real estate guys to know this but still. Impressed.
Living underground is a good way to keep your utility bills low. They maintain a constant temp and are easy to heat in the winter and stay cool in summer. I practically live in my finished basement in the hot summer months. Never need ac.
Never understood these bunkers in flyover states. ICBMs need less than 1 or 2 hours to touch down on the East or West coasts. So unless you live there in that bunker in the middle of nowhere permanently... it's useless!!
Arvin, I think the normal front door was fitted inside, after the bunker door. I suspect you misunderstood them. PS: Please make fun of some Producer Michael videos :D
Hey Arvin there was a mansion in LA that was listed for 250 Million Dollars and had a title like ‘most expensive house in the USA’ can you make a video about that?
Despite AH's criticisms, $45k for what you are getting and what it is being used for is pretty good. I would like to know about the heating system though. ND gets pretty friggin' cold in the winter. Also surprised that they didnt go with LEDs for the lighting.
Any chance of reviewing houses from video games? I'd recommend starting off with Grand Theft Auto 5; the game is set in a fictional version of California, and the city is a fictional version of Los Angeles with all the distinct areas (so there's a hills area with luxury houses, a South Central area and so on).
I feel like you should have worn a mad max outfit for this one

Gave a like just for how crazy knowledgeable you are about bunkers. I mean BUNKERS. Maybe paranoid weirdo billionaires drive a demand for luxury real estate guys to know this but still. Impressed.
One of the lightbulbs is out in that finished unit
Arvin, you should review Kate and Nate video called "Sleeping in a luxury doomsday binker". It is a converted old missile silo.
If there was some doomsday event, a community of above ground bunkers seems like the first place to go looting at.
Nukes do not exist as we are told.
That said, great video.
Explain
this one was unexpected and hilarious 🤣
Producer Michael did one of these also a couple years ago.
Where's Mikey Gone?
Mustard gass hahahaha thats WWI. We all should be in a bunker!!
Arvin "The Prepper" Haddad!
Arvin you are so funny, you cracked me up on this one lmao 😅😅😅
Despite AH's criticisms, $45k for what you are getting and what it is being used for is pretty good. I would like to know about the heating system though. ND gets pretty friggin' cold in the winter. Also surprised that they didnt go with LEDs for the lighting.
1:49 is notch echo, is resonance
I want that shirt Arvin!
If I win the lotto, I'll be consulting you about my doomsday bunker.
While not quite a bunker under my house , I do have a 5m x 4 m room under my lounge , ideal place for a still :-)
Any chance of reviewing houses from video games? I'd recommend starting off with Grand Theft Auto 5; the game is set in a fictional version of California, and the city is a fictional version of Los Angeles with all the distinct areas (so there's a hills area with luxury houses, a South Central area and so on).
None of these bunkers will ever be used beyond a place to store a prepper arsenal. It is just goofy.
Great insight.
When will you react to "the one"?
