    An excellent presentation. One of the best, if not the best on TH-cam I have seen. Could not be more informative. Thank you.

    This solved my problem! I needed to remove the ice maker, let the ice blockage melt then re-install it. I never would've figured this out on my own. Thank you!

      Where does the ice blockage happen? Did you have too defrost the entire fridge?

    • @evenstephen845
      @evenstephen845 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mrpush2532 The water filling port of the removable ice maker becomes blocked with ice. Warm water allows for a quick melt. I don’t have to shut off the fridge *because* I can remove the ice maker.

    Thank you so so much!!!!
    I would have never been able to figure out how to release the ice mak3er without this video!
    The repair went super well... Although I did have to swap the whole Harness (Included)

    Very helpful. My replacement icemaker unit came with a new wiring harness that hat to be replaced as well and that made the process way more complex. But still worth the effort

    You guys are professionals and life savers! No ice. Could not figure out icemaker mounting, did not see any screws. I know now because of this video. Used all of refrigerator top for storage. That whole section of the waterfall may have frozen up. There was a little water in that [cup]. I was able to rock, but not pull up on-- the inlet like you at 1:03. If it had completely frozen up, I wonder if that had any harmful effects on the solenoid valve 12956102. I will find out soon. Also, after the jumper is removed, can the unit be tested like all other units?

    I had a big learning curve. I bought a new ice maker. Installed it and went back to the original ice maker. I don't know what I did but we now have ice from the old ice maker.

    A metal paint can opener that has a curved end (like the ones provided by the Big Box stores, as well as Ace and True Hardware that also includes a handy beer bottle opener🍻 ) stores can come in handy if you're trying to pop the cover off the ice-maker to access the various test points.👍👍

    4:03 - Anyone know if the central ice-flipper beam should be able to turn when turned off?
    Mine is completely stiff on the original ice maker (I do have a new part incoming)
    I noticed a fried contact in the black compartment on the right side (But that seemed more related to the cooling and it ran between the cooling rods)
    Also is there a good chance the new part will work without swapping out the entire harness?

    Do you have to valve off the water supply before pulling up the ice maker water inlet tube bulb?

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is recommended to turn the water supply and power off to the unit before working on it.

    Hello. I have a wrx73sdbm04 and the ice makeer will make some ice, then fill the ice chamber with water and it'll freeze like a pool of water. Do I need a whole new unit?

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your ice maker is overfilling you will need to check the fill tube for any partial blockages. If you have a partial blockage there then you will need to replace the water valve.

    Unfortunately, looks like this one won't replace my Whirlpool W10300024. Only one slight difference, the cup isn't separate from the holder where the clip goes on, it's integrated into the same part. Is there a fix or am I screwed and have to order a new one? How about fixing the old one? It was leaking into the bin when filling the tray, causing frozen spots that hang up.

    Which direction do you turn the screw (C/W, CC/W) to raise/decrease the fill level?

    I installed.thr new one thanks!
    However the ice maker arm is in the up position and i cant get it down!
    If i force it its gonna break!
    I dont.think its goingnto make ice in that upward position!
    The old one moves.freely up and down.
    Now what?

      @appliancepartspros Hi, its the kfis20xvms5.
      I've determined that there is no power to the new icemaker.
      The metal wire stays up like that because the gear never spins.
      Tested w.jumper wire. No power
      Can't find a replacement thermal fuse.
      Does that men I need new wire harness or ?
      Thanks
