Sometimes I think back on times I wandered from Jesus, but the Devil loves that. So, I focus on the day that I will see the Father coming for me someday. What a glorious day. I miss Glenn Payne, George Younce and Roger Bennett. Great men of God. I love you all. Gwen Weaver
This is the same version played at my dads funeral in 1981, i was 10 yrs old, I will never forget this song nor that sad lonely day..What a Blessing to still be able to listen to their Music!
Thank God for His grace and mercy. All of us have the opportunity to come back home to the Father after wandering from Jesus. The Cathedrals will always be the best! Thanks for posting.
In my opinion there will never be such a crystal clear voice as Glen Payne what a gem he was and I bet he is singing up in the glory and I can't wait to hear his sweet voice once again!!!
Thanks for posting. If you have anymore videos from this concert (same as "Then Came the Morning" I guess) please post them. I would really appreciate it!
Oh Man!!! This is so awesome! I heard them do this song in concert several times in the 80's. But have not heard it since. Danny is once again the icing on the cake!
if I recall this song was #1 on the gospel charts for a good while.... if ever there was a sermon in a song this is it. The Bible is full of such songs ready to be written and sung! Who will do it???
I was singing this song Tuesday night as I working and usually that's a sign good or bad just depends on what's going on. The Lord gave me the song in my Spirit last night and I was singing it. I felt so sad but I still don't know but The LORD will show me in time.
Jesus Christ has already paid the price, pardoned the proud prodigal & prepared the way... Don't quell the question... Will you quake in the presence, or will you perish in perdition? Even so, if the Prodigal in their pride persistently push against the prodding of their Creator. Then the Crucified Creator, The One Who so willingly lavished His love at the cruel cross, must turn away and let the pretentious prodigal proceed in the path that he had planned for himself. For it is the Crucified Creator's desire that none would perish, but that they would accept the free gift of eternal life. He has not created people as puppets, to prance personal praise in His presence, but rather He has created people with a will to choose as they would like. And therefore if people choose the path of Perdition rather than the Righteous road to Redemption, that is their choice. -A Random Lattin
Definitely can feel the spirit of the Lord in these older songs. The Cathedrals were one of the best. Know there in a better place.

A lot of people have sing this song over the years, but never heard anyone do it like Glen Payne and Danny Funderburk.
I can say with confidence that there will never be a quartet as good as the Cathedral's were.
Either that or the kinsmen quartet
