- This performance was at the Great Western Fan Festival at the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, California, on May 1, 2010.
All four singers in this quartet sing bass normally. In this lineup, however, we have (from left to right): Glenn Dustin (Legacy Five) on tenor; Eric Bennett (Triumphant Quartet) on lead; Royce Mitchell (Liberty Quartet) on baritone; and Jeff Pearles (King's Heralds) on bass. Are people really hating on the fact that they're having FUN while doing this? Who would have thought that at a SHOW they're trying to entertain the crowd. If you just wanted to hear the music, skip to the music. They're performing and enjoying it, which is the point of doing stuff live.
this blessed my morning! i have sung tenor in a quartet with 3 elderly gentlemen. we did this song and i loved it so much! thank you for a truly beautiful entertaining song

It's a rare thing when bass singers get the spotlight, and this was so funny, yet even joking along, the quality of those voices is amazing.
For anyone who thinks that Christians are dryball, and unfunny, this is a great way to dispel that stereotype.

This makes you think they can't sing at all, they are wonderful and I could not stop laughing. I am 55 years old and when I was in my teens we had a church choir that traveled everwhere , we even went as far as Florida to sing, and this was our favorite we would this at every church and always got a standing ovation, and a lot of times we would have to sing it again. It brought back alot of wonderful memories. SO HERE IS A STANDING OVATION TO THESE GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was wonderfully fun to watch!Just love the fun sense of humor these guys have and talented singers. This takes me back to the little log church at the county fair I used to go to when I was young. It's where I first heard southern gospel quartet and I never missed a show after I found them. Even if some of the old favorite song were repeated throughout the week, it was a different show every time cause they were just playing together and having so much fun with each other and the audience. Great show guys!

I realize this was posted 9 years ago. I can't help but adore this. As a bass singer, it is much appreciated and enjoyed. The sense of humor and the talent on that stage is amazing! Gerald on the piano is brilliant!

What an absolute blessing on this beautiful Palm Sunday. Chasing those closed in Corona VIrus Blues away!! Love this!!!!!. Grew up with my singing family and miss it so much. Mom, Dad, my oldest sister and brother have passed. Still have my baby sisters. We are know as The Sanders Sisters in Berkeley Springs, WV. I have been ill so we haven't been able to sing much . Thank God for TH-cam and being able to listen to wonderful Gospel Music.

As a bassman myself, I can relate. A couple of quartets I’ve sung with have had 2 or more basses in them. When we were settling on who’s on what, I told them I’d sing any part they wanted me to sing-so long as they wanted me to sing bass!! 👍🏻😁

The funny thing is that most basses have a higher head range than tenors do,in the quartet I was in the bass could do all 4 parts
My Dad sings Bass in a little group back home. I went to church with him and my step mom. Choir practice before church. I found myself singing in the choir beside dad. I had an aunt in the congregation that told my mom before I could. ONE OF THE BEST WEEKENDS OF MY LIFE!!!

Would loved to hear them all in base and let loose. Amusing when u are asked to sing out of your natural voice. conto basso with natural verbrato, but sometimes I sing falsetto.
Absolutely hilarious...and that takes nothing away from the quality of the performance! Bravo! I sing bass2 with most choirs but the older gentleman's voice left me gaping!

Truly love all the fun they are having singing this song, but the guy singing tenor does a superb job at hitting all the high notes, although most of them aren't really necessary! Many people think gospel songs are too straight laced, or too opressive, but this group shows how gospel songs can be fun!! I also would have liked for them to sing the entire song in their own singing voice. Even though they are all bass singers, not all bass singers sound, or sing, the same!!
