i’m not interested in homeschooling at all but you inspired me still!! i love the idea of everything being intentional. as a mom who sends kids to school i think i can take that thought and implement it even in the way i prep them for school and when i pickup and we’re at home. all the feels!! love your heart hannah ❤
Hannah! I love your attitude and outlook.♡ I parented and homeschooled our two, very similar to how you have described. Ours are now 20 (in college) and 16. I have never regretted my choice to stay home and homeschool/unschool, and to raise them in a peaceful, respectful environment where everyone's needs matter. You rock and your family is very blessed to have you! 👏👏👏 Added: this video made me miss those days so much, but I'm enjoying this season a great deal because of the effort I put in when they were younger. Best bonus to homeschooling is the relationship you have with them as adults and teens 🥰
My daughter is 3.5 and im so burned out and depressed that im pushing our homeschooling off to closer to 4. We read books every day and im starting to help her write thank you letters w pictures that she draws of the gifts she recieves. She spends her own money on little things at the store and she can count and order her own meal in a restraunt. We do alot of life skill stuff already so im not sweating the academic stuff just yet. I need to be ok before i can take on more.
Ok I cried at the end of this video. It just made me emotional for some reason. I keep going back and forth with what I want to do about homeschooling or not, and my daughter is now only a year away from mandatory public school. We live super close to family now and have such a great community here. But if I want to homeschool we would have to move from Sweden to a Swedish speaking island in Finland, since school is mandatory in Sweden. I get so inspired by everything home school and my heart keeps telling me that it makes no sense to teach kids in school as a music teacher, while my kids are at school, instead of teaching my own kids. But moving would mean a day of travel away from family, and moving abroad.
Yeah I couldn't do that--but I do want to have a more flexible job where I am available for my kids more. I just can't picture my entire day being kids, housework and a spouse--but if you are willing and able, more power to you
I have friends that also unschooled and their kids all the kids self taught to read and are all so smart. When I started homeschooling, I just pulled my son out of elementary because I walked in there and he just sat there bored because the teachers have to work with the kids that are trying to catch up so the the other kids that have already learned the stuff have to just sit there inside 4 walls all day. I remember when I started homeschooling I read something that says “you walk with the wise you become wise”! That means the kids are surrounded by people of all ages when they’re out at the grocery store or just anywhere in public they’re meeting people of all ages and learning from all ages. We also got to travel and spend a month in Thailand and go anytime we wanted to. My kids travel out of country on their own.
Im a mom to 6 kids and we do too, decided to homeschool...basically allow them to live life with us, do things we do, go places etc...and this comment really got to my heart!! You said it and explained so well... "Walk with the wise and you become wise"..... PRECIOUS!✨️🙏
Go for it Hannah! You have so much joy for your kiddos and thats beautiful. I'm a homeschooling mom to 8. I remember being so overly excited to start with my first and he was reading very young. Now I have graduated 4 and have 4 still being educated and my youngest is 7 and just catching on to reading. Each one is so different and you will see how it all flows . Just enjoy growing along with them.❤
I did what your friend suggested with my children, for structure, and it was a sweet time for us. They are now 21,20,20,19,15 and 11, a little structure is sweet.
Oh my gosh, so I’ve been wanting to watch this video of yours but kept putting it off until today at naptime, and I think this is so much fun. My oldest is the same age as Cosmo and we are on our second day of doing the peaceful preschool. I thought it was so funny the coincidence. I am loving the low-key structure of it so much.
My two girls are the same age as your kiddos. We started preschool homeschool this year. Really low key but it’s been soo fun. My 4 year old loves it when I play teacher with her haha
I only have a 15 month old, but ah i can't wait to homeschool her. Fellow Boise momma as well, and there is so much nature here, it's gonna be so fun! I hated school when i was younger and begged my parents in 7th grade to be homeschooled, they agreed and I was so thankful for that. Never regretted it. Also, not fearful of schooling after high school, as I went on to get my Masters degree. Love seeing this!
I have a suggestion to get Ticonderoga my first pencils, they’re bigger and better for a small child’s developing hands. Good luck with homeschooling! You’ll do great!
You should look into Waldorf education! I think it would really resonate with you! Beyond the rainbow bridge is a great little book that describes Waldorf education really concisely and has practical examples.
Hannah - please tell me where I can get the tee shirt you're wearing at 0:26 with the colored bands arount the sleeves and neck? I don't want any other clothes, just that tee shirt (so no clothing subscriptions for me) Your yard is lovely!
IM SO INSPIRED!! Please take this topic and run, run, run! I was always inspired by Ellen’s homeschool videos/podcasts (#EarthToUs listener) and now since her content has changed and she is shifting to more topic specific podcast sharing, I’m SO pumped that you’re going to keep carrying the homeschool torch. I am aligned with the values you share and am soo happy that I too don’t have to go researching to find other people with similar views! Yay!
I just sent my son to kindergarten and am having a tough time letting go of all control over everything. I’m just scared to homeschool because I don’t have a degree (don’t feel smart enough) and he is an only child.
My daughter has just started Reception class (English kindergarten) and I feel exactly the same. I envy homeschooling mums so so much. My daughter is extremely sociable and an only child too, she's on day 2 and so happy yet I feel weirdly guilty for not being able to homeschool. Like I've failed her because she's now part of "the system".
@@taylormaloney2621 you can do it! I was afraid at first too, but I promise you, you can. The resources to help you homeschool successfully are endless and the benefits are countless. You know what your child needs better than anyone else. Trust yourself♡
read The Call of the Wild and Free. It'll give you the permission slip you need :) you don't need to be "smart" to homeschool. and you definitely don't need a degree
Your approach is one hundred percent the good stuff of homeschooling. DONT let curricula stress you for ONE minute. It will kill the magic ❤ and you’re homeschooling for the magic it seems ❤
Funny I have been homeschooling for over 20 years lol and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.. my 2 youngest (18,16) have never been in school at all lol and I love everything about it.. my youngest is the only one being schooled by herself and it’s a bit different but loving it so much already!!!! Wished more people had the opportunity to homeschool or wanted to tho lol but I have watched you for a long time but started watching your sister first lol.. 💜💜love you both!!!
This weekend people made me sterile and it’s my worst nightmare. I feel so disappointed in life and hit my legs green and blue. I am never ever going to wake up in life ever again. I want to have pizza and chocolate so badly.
What if you teamed up with TidyStyle, an organizing company in Boise, which Lindsey Hughes (a Boise-based TH-camr) works for! Idk I feel like you could collab to promote them as a local service (they also sell their labels on amazon). :) I also work as a professional organizer here in RI so I'm all about it :D organizing is the best for our mental sanity lol especially for parents
I’m desperate to know how to manage homeschool and normal life chores as my kids are older. I loved homeschooling but my kids are getting a great education at a charter school and I don’t think I have the skills to compete with that, and they love it. We homeschooled when they were little and juggling life was easy because the schooling is low maintenance. But with a two and seven and nine year old, I have no idea how I would manage it all plus all the other life things and activities.
Please more content on homeschooling and organization! I’m not organized person with 10months old planning to homeschool. Amazon page will be helpful as well! Thanks
i have a very important question 😄 when is the right time to start with Harry Potter books? read them to your kids or wait until they can do it on their own?
Which chapter books does Cosmo like? My son loves reading and stories and I’m starting to think that even though he’s only 3 he might like some higher level books just to listen to.

Wow this video got me. I have a 1 year old and I want more babies and want to raise my flock like this. Can’t wait.

I personally think structure and intentionality is beneficial for all ages and stages of life. I’m sure Cosmo will love starting homeschooling!
Please share how you did the pumpkin arch

What’s the name of the homeschool curriculum she suggested? Is there a website?

Moulding wax is great for preschool
I would have liked to do homeschooling for my 2 kids, but it is forbidden where i live. We have compulsory school attendance😞.
Suuuuuch a cute top!!!
It’s such a privilege to homeschool. It’s a wonderful idea and tool but the majority of mom’s don’t have the means to do so.
Are the kids also vegan?

Why do kids these days need so many snacks?? We never had snacks growing up. That would take a little stress off of you.
Kids that age should really eat something every two hours. This is what today's science tells us.
