- It took 4 months for her to escape her country. She had to hide her identity and work on a farm in a country where she didn't speak the language so she could save up and get to a safer place. She had to leave her parents behind unsure if she'd ever see them again. In the end, she fought and survived her journey successfully bringing back one of her parents and now waiting to see her mom again.

legal or illegal? Theyre not being blamed for being immigrants, theyre being blamed for specific things, and its not legal immigrants being blamed. The US still has a program that allows cubans to become automatic US citizens should they touch American soil. They are refugees and have integrated well. No one really questions them being here. North Koreans are similar culturally to south koreans so theres no real clash there. The clash comes when there is a refusal to integrate into the mainstream society of a country and when crime and poverty go up. It happens when people who come for a better life shit on the host country but cry about being sent back to the country they celebrate.

I totally agree that the state is the problem (mostly Kim Jong Un) and not the people. If the state wanted to, it could import food and feed it's citiziens. It's so crazy to me how people can be trapped in place they don't want to be in. I don't understand how people can be "free" and yet treated like wild prisoners! I never knew it was so bad, I mean how could you be hung for helping your family survive. This one video showed me how horribly these people are treated and that you have to literally escape your home country like you are escaping from a prison. I will be praying for all people who wish to live a better life, and a safe and secure path to be able to do so. ❤️😭🙏
Unfortunately the North Korean regime believes that the rice he produced is property of the government. There by stashing rice to give to his family is like stealing from the government. They control every aspect of their citizens' lives down to the items they produce. He even has to ration what he keeps for his household. It's ridiculous how these people are treated. The propaganda is strong and the human rights abuse is incredible. What these poor folks tolerate out of fear and brainwashing is astonishing.
Yet kids complain here in the U.S. how much they don't get and the lack of freedom they have, LOOK AT THE PEOPLE IN NORTH KOREA, YOU KIDS SHOUD BE THANKFUL.
Yeah but small compromises could be made, like changing the education system. The education system just wastes time. Why would be need to know about history in our lives? How about geography? They work as Lumber gatherers. they come to Russia to cut trees and take them back to north Korea, as from what i know - they work for 2-3 years in Russia in a camp,and when they come back they make extra money. They seem very grateful they have this job and no one seems to be constantly treeing to escape. they get breakes,they eat. sometimes i see them smoking cigarettes and relaxing on a log - near my dacha.

This makes me worry about a friend of mine. I live in the UK and a couple years back, I hired a Koren lady to teach me Japanese. Near the end of the year we met, she was forced to go back to Korea because her visa ran out. She said that she would be back by the following August but I never heard from her again. I have hired a new tutor, of course, but I still worry about the first one. I know it's doubtful she came from North Korea, but I can't think what could have stopped her from at least letting me know that she can't come back.
If she was North Korean, she might be in danger.

A North Korean has a visa? To the UK? Might just be a South Korean who just had a run out visa. You know, when your visa runs out, it's not very easy to come back super quick? There is an immigration system and unfortunately, it's sorta slow. It can take some time to get some paper work done, and to have it approved, and of course, the cost and payment of the whole entire trip. Maybe a change of mind?

Watching this video, it shows how grateful I am for being from the South.
