Kajagoogoo - the mega pop group who blew it. Neck Beggs - the mega talent who never got the credit he deserved...
This is such an amazing song. Should have been an absolute 80's classic.
Limahl should've been singing this song
It would be too good then.@@aliamjon2550
He did a version, but the instrumental isn't very good.@@aliamjon2550
It would be too good then.@@aliamjon2550
These guys are actually legit musicians, super skilled
Sadly, they got rid of Limahl so ppl would see them as legit musicians.
Nick Beggs is a damn good bassist
I wonder why they expelled limahl
@@Javierblaszczyk only bcoz they wanted to be taken as legitimately good musicians and they felt Limahl's pretty image would make them labeled as a "pop boy-band" like Duran Duran. So they felt it was best for the band to let him go.
Jazz

Stuart Neale, on keyboards, layered some incredible chords and melody lines that just made this song so incredible and awesome. The whole band is tight and love this album 🎹🎹🎹
I once had someone in the 90s randomly ask me if I was him - I have the same name, spelled the same except for the trailing silent 'e'...I was like "how did i not know Kajagoogoo's keyboardist's name was that close to mine?"
I think Stuart made some great sounds and parts. Should get more credit.
Stuart Neale is brilliant
@@analogsynthplayer The picture next to my user name? It's a stock picture, I don't have a Juno 60.
The 80s was fucking wild. Not criticising the musicianship but this is utter guff
Świetna piosenka. Głos. Cudo. Niepowtarzalny. Mam,, niestety, 😂60 lat. Wracam pamięcią do tego czego słuchałam. No nie ma słów. 😘
One of the best kajagoogoo' song
Every single song on this album is a pure hit
It remains a fantastically dark video, some incredible camera set-up's & imagery...A great song also, that Chapman stick baseline is a classic...👌
One of the most bad ass bass lines in 80's pop history, such an original bass player
These guys could play. Nick Beggs on bass guitar, fantastic. I had this on 45 back in 1984.
80s is such an addictive decade
Best decade we had great generes of music which I adore all in 10 years
Electronic pop rock metal heavy thrash and death metal and love em all then the 90s went downhill after 93 and music since has been dreadful
@@liamrowbotham2069 It has then indeed so too?!
I just discovered this song! Better late than never.
I remember this from the 80s. I only heard this song on the radio - no videos. The words really paint a visual story.
In the UK this video was on video jukeboxes in pubs.
you gotta admit the bass playing is top notch regardless if you like the song or not
Yes, He's a fine bass player
Dan Halter: Are you suggesting that some people don't like the song! What's wrong with them.
Yeah that bass line is pretty fucking killer!!!!!
Beggs is a beast.
1:28 the fact that Nick Beggs mastered the Chapman Stick when he was only in his early twenties is magical
The early 80s were a weird time... White Feathers was the first album I bought from my pocket money, and I was kind of devastated when Limahl left a few months later; at the age of 10 things like this are sort of devastating, aren't they?
When the band released their first few singles about a year after that I didn't know what to do with them, because - as an 11-year-old - you kind of think that it's all about the lead singer. So, I was quite irritated (in a good way) to find that, no, *actually* the rest of the band are really good musicians by themselves. I've absolutely loved those first few singles (Lion's Mouth especially)! Nick is sort of one of the unsung heroes of the 80s.
When music was music ... thank you guys 🙏🏻
This band ROCKS and I just only really got into them last year (beyond the "hits") when I started digging into their catalogue and became a fan of Nick Beggs, who honestly kills it on the bass. They're extraordinary musicians, even well beyond Limahl's involvement.
Ten utwór jest dla mnie zachwycający.
Everything is and was good about the band! The sound, the music, the musicians and also the stylish look from back then!
this whole album is sooo underrated, such a hidden gem
I am pretty sure this music got pretty famous during the early 80s. Good music . Nick begg is the main leader of singing and he sings very good .
The band declined actually, likely because Limahl was a big part of why people liked their music in the beginning, but the music still had a following.
I still love this song since it came out 1984,I still have this on VINYL
i too have this on vinyl, brings back so many memories, i left school in `84
Same, I bought the vinyl when I was in LONDON, it was hard to find in FRANCE
@@chrismarshall3972 That is true,I left high school after 13 years in Germany(that is normal here) in 1991 but great memories in 1984 when this song was coming out😊👍
@@prodige2211 Great,I was very often in London. The first time was in 1985
I have it taped off the radio on cassette from 1984.
I love the horn section at the end of the song
Great song. Should have been top 10
Cant beat the sound of real musicians…stands out they are skilled and those simmonds drums just epic ❤
Still a damn good song!
First record I bought in my life (12'' maxi single), was 11 back then, early '84. Kajagoogoo were just a teen pop band but had so much musical quality. Listen to the rhythm during the verse and how the songs takes off when it comes to the chorus. The whole "Islands" album was great, too.
The intro of the 12" is outstanding.
Summer 1984 ❤
This is the most beautiful Kajagoogoo song.
C'est ça après avoir viré le meilleur limahl mon idole
I never understood. Why the hell did they fired Limahl?
@@fernandoferdinandit was advice of their manager. He told them with Limahl they always gonna be a boy band that appeals only to teen girls.
Kajagoogoo is such a good band👌
Après avoir viré le meilleur limahl
This is really good. I appreciate this direction and understand why they kicked the old singer out.
HANDSOME GUYS+EXCELLENT SONG😀❣❣❣😍🥰
MAGNIFICENT TIME, MAGNIFICENT MUSIC.
My most favorite track from their Islands Album. I do wish they were more successful back then. They created timeless music with and without Limahl.
Hab sie damals beim Open Air im Stadtpark in Hamburg gesehen.War Superklasse💖💖💖
One of the underrated songs from Kajagoogoo. Very strong music and melody. And Nick Beggs was a very good singer with a unique singing style and bass playing.
And don't talk about good music death this and that. There's many people who said like this, but on that time, abandoned Kajagoogoo after Limahl's gone (Then said how underrated they are) without realized that Kajagoogoo without Limahl was still going strong and better in music sound :) They deserved to live longer than split up after their 1985 album.
Love this song one of their best great guitar and video and vocals
Música de nivel superior……grandes músicos! 👏👏👏👏👏
It was and still is a fantastic tune - I still blast it out of my hifi on 80s nights and it sounds fantastic !
I was fortunate to get a 12 " version on CD - to replace my original vinyl 12" version on the Island Album
They never got the credit they deserved for this recording !
Nick is simply awesome
I'm 57 love this guy
I like the transitions from the verse to chorus. Really nice song writing.
I like all Kajagoogoo songs, they were my group growing up. B4 they directly rose to fame they supported Duran Duran
Brilliant track. Nick Beggs with the Chapman Stick
Still kicks ass...Kajagoogoo forever!
Love Stuart Neale backing vocals alot

Why is Nick Beggs so.... Handsome?
Love it. From the days when actual music videos were recorded. A lot of hard work for our enjoyment. Thank you
Loved this album and the next one
First time I've ever seen a video for this song, brilliant. Have met the band a couple of times over 20 years apart, lovely guys.
Like them with limahl and like them without him... How was this band not bigger?
Wrong Time. Great compositions not appreciated. Some years later they would be so great!!!
Great
Probably because they didn’t find Beggs’s vocals as skilled and his personality as charismatic, the songs weren’t as catchy or as appealing lyrically to the young girls who had liked Limahl with them, and because that music was becoming less what people in Britain wanted to hear in general by then.
Too much competition
I am ready for the Rhino podcast on Kajagoogoo.
Moja ulubiona grupa z młodości - jak ja się w nich kochałam mając 14 lat 😁
10.05.2023 Miło jest usłyszeć jeszcze raz swój ulubiony utwórDziękuję
Great song that reminds me of you, Jennifer. My Lion / Leo....missing you will remain for a lifetime with me😤💕❤🌹🌹🌷🌷💔
Amo tudo isso🎧🎤🎵📀🔥
Magnifique chanson ❤❤❤❤❤❤
リマール脱退後のカジャグーグーはもっと評価されても良いと思う。
同感です。実際、ニックは、未だ現役ですね😊
I wanna rock the gear that this "birdcage-hearted darth bowie" is wearing. I'll wear it around NYC.
I didn't remember this song anymore.. Wow! Many memories..
This band is far better than its name!
thanks Rhino for this video :)
❤Heavy, Nice look❤
I love both this version and the rerecorded version with Limahl on lead vocals.
Loved seeing the band members in this video...and no pointless gyrating, twerking dancers.
Superb track and video, thanks!
Kawałek meeega😍😍😍😍
Mega w huj!!!!!!
Beggs with the Chapman Stick is a classic .
Muy buen álbum!! Lo tengo en vinilo y casete
Não paro de ouvir! Grande Nick!
Me perco nos anos 80
This song rules.
THIS IS THE BEST SONG THAT THE HUMANITY HAS EVER CREATED
agree
Loved kaja, pity they didn't get bigger and last longer.
Some great 🎶.
Love love love love love this tuuuuuunnnnnneeeee
Music and vocals was at the top here, miles away from the first album, but miss the "magic touch" of "too shy".
This second lineup should have been sucssesful. For me Islands is a great and far superior album
Was ten yrs when this had been played around. Great song 👍
I wish they stayed together. They would have had another big hit with Limahl as the lead singer.
This music is better than modern trash and I'm 17 years old
My friend.
I am over 30.
You have taste.
New is not always the best.
The past can us say a lot.
Hi I'm 54 & used to listen to this music when I was a teenager, I loved it!!! Great Choice😊🎉
Bravissimo! 👏🏻

Music kajagoogoo is great 🎉
Brilliant song and reminds me back in the dangerous days lol
Still love the song after all these years! I had a thing for Stuart back in the day lol
To me I like his voice way better then the other guy.
Hey fool, watch out - you'll get mauled by a lion's mouth.
Hermosooo
I Love its song just hear it today. I feel like I'm in the 1980's but I was not around then because I was born in the early 90's!
Same though
Que maravilha de música 🇬🇧🎸🎺
Nick Beggs is playing a Chapman stick. Peter Gifford of Midnight Oil played one on the track Sleep which features on their album Red Sails In The Sunset.
素晴らしい楽曲です✨❤
I remember this clip from my childhood. I was really scared.
It's so odd ;) but one of the kind as well :)
The Best piece
I love it since 1984
