I love the smile Steve gives to Limahl during his guitar solo. A great song all round .. Have to say though Stuart owns it here.. His keyboard work on it is fantastic.
The band was gorgeous!!! I have always loved Nick Beggs but today he‘s just amazing!! ❤️Thank you folks!!! Thank you so much Nick for sharing your vocation with us!
It's the same for me. I liked very much Nick but now he Is more and more better! And he has the same smile and the same voice as in the '80s. And he's a very good bass player too.😁 Fantastic Nick!
Although i love the 'White Feathers' era of the band, i have to say that i prefer the stuff that came after. But, it's lovely to see the guys back together again! Also great to see Limahl here, happy to join-in with some of the output after he left the band. But, what i really like, is the banter, and it melts my heart to see that there are no longer any hard feelings and that they are genuinely friends, and once again having fun. Life's far too short! Nice one, Guys... \m/ (:o)
I think Kajagoogoo were way ahead of their time - songs like Lion's Mouth are very complex musically yet interesting with unusual progressions. Also Beggs used a Chapman stick originally on this number. Limahl always likes to have a bit of a dig at Nick though - and why not. What an idiot to have sacked the goose that laid the golden egg and not to have the bottle to do it face to face. Limahl has a very powerful yet relaxed stage presence and his performance on Too Shy is brilliant as a front man - probablya bit too good for Nick and the Leighton Buzzard boys. They wanted a front man but not to become Limahl's backing band or so it almost appeared when you watch videos.
I agree they shouldn't have sacked Limahl; but sadly we (and they) can't turn back time ... But at last they reformed; and Nick told me they have no plans to do anything together at present; but I will be asking Steve if they'll reform again in future, as I'm meeting him Friday 😀 x
Zooney1 I totally agree with you. Limahl was the one with the stage presence and the voice that got them where they were back then. I think Nick had a problem with that. Jez is the only one that was truthful and said maybe they fired the wrong person & that they should have gotten a new manager instead. The others don't have the guts to say it. It speaks volumes that Kajagoogoo went nowhere after Limahl left. Makes me wonder how successful they really could have been.
so what's Steve's opinion on that ? he'll be turning 60 next year, so after that it'll be harder to play those teenie pop anthems ;) so please reunite one last time boys !
Not so sure about their costumes but Kajagoogoo were superb here. And I think the dual vocals worked very well. Nick in particular is a superb musician.
@@pieterbro173 A traditional outfit worn by Scotsmen. men in Scotland wear these skirts usually in a tartan, stripy/square material and with thing like a purse at the front to carry money etc but this is called a sporran.
I so agree!! I just wished they just stayed together and maybe make some stuff that should have been made. Nick is better suited for this song totally!!
That works so well them doing that song together. Would have been a great track back then if they kept together. Love this band and should have been bigger then they was.
It's funny how Too Shy is always mentioned as their most well known song, yet i never heard it on any radio here in Canada. Lions Mouth is the only song of theirs that caught on here. I remember hearing it on a mixed artist compilation album i bought. Lions Mouth is their best song imo and i find the bassist to be a better, more expressive vocalist, he's especially good here, slapping da bass and nailing the vocal and sounding exactly the same as he did back then. That said they didn't have much else to offer, i've gone through their albums and couldn't find anything else that was that catchy.
Although every generation frowns upon the output of those who come after them, but nowadays there seems to be more justification for it: how much of today's pop will be as enjoyable 25 years later as these guys are?
back in '83 & '84 when their music was hot off the press, in a era when pop was heavily bass-guitar driven and bands were often stripped-down minimal in size, it made a sense to have the extremely talented and beautiful Beggs out front (some guys just have it all) returning to the Art Nouveau line-up. however, Limahl seemed to be something of a catalyst to their success with his contacts including Nick Rhodes. sometimes a dedicated frontman has his uses.
Well it’s nice to know what it would’ve sounded like had Limahl not been sacked. I prefer his voice to Nick’s. It’s smoother and dare I say it more soothing to listen to. They’re great musicians all of them but they shouldn’t have sacked their lead singer. He completed their unique sound.
I feel like Nick never really came clean about why they fired Limahl. I don't think he was a musician, in the way the rest of the band was, but it was still very ungrateful of them. It was Limahl's connection with Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes that got them signed in the first place. They were nothing before Limahl, and they were nothing after him. That said, Nick Beggs is an extraordinary musician. However, him fronting the band did not work. Limahl had the voice and the stage prescence. They needed him. Took them 25 years to figure it out.
Why did Limahl have to say that? I thought that he was over the whole dismissal thing. That one remark set back the whole reunion thing in my my mind. I like the fact that they are back as a 5 piece but don't say stuff like that, eh!! On the back of that, being fired can be seen many years later as a joke. I think the reunion does work and a new 2015 album would be a nice album to purchase.
I dunno. I thought it was cathartic for not just Limahl, but also for the fans to hear in that moment, and quite possibly for the band themselves. I interpreted the remark as airing dirty laundry to avoid the perils of pretending there wasn't any lingering hidden resentment.
Limahl was sacked by the others becouse of the other members thought he attracted only teens through his image. All the other guys were in on it.Do your homework before posting.
Nick’s voice still same. Awesome!

This was a good reunion performance. Glad to see the forgiveness and great spirits between the members.

Great song! Bands from 80's will always be best. It was brilliant to be a teenager in 80's and enjoying all fantastic bands from that era:))))
Yeeeesssss!!!
Nick bellissima voce
What a brilliant brass section riff on this! One of those occasions where you wonder why no-one had thought of it before, it's so simple but so good.

To be honest, I didn't really follow Kajagoogoo beyond "Too Shy," so this is the first I've heard this. I like it!
In my car kajagoogoo music is fantastic
Great to say the very least when they are together...one of my favourite songs
Brilliant even after 25 years from Limahl being sacked ,, Mr Beggs still sounds cool. Class act kajagoogoo
Great what a pleasure Limahl singin this song!!! Great!!!!
Stuart is killing it here and Limahl recognises it .. Go on !!! What an epic live performance .Love that key change in the main riff .
