First of all, these kids are always a delight. The biscuits and gravy episode is a classic, but the boys are so well behaved, but still honest. It's heartening.
NEVER watch the Jolly guys while Hungry! As "Yanks", we already KNOW how good the Food here can be, and it's a kick watching someone trying our cooking for the first time. In Another "British kids try", they get SWEET TEA for the First Time! AWESOME! HEY, JAMAL! Josh and Ollie came to the U.S. and tried Rodeo Food and TEXAS BBQ AS WELL! You GOTTA react to that (have some ribs on hand to "Join In"!).
Popeyes, the chicken shop that originated in New Orleans, has come from across the Atlantic and is having its moment in Britain. It opened its first UK venue in Stratford in 2021 and thanks to its success, new branches have been cropping up left, right and centre ever since.
I've been watching a lot of foodie videos, mostly "first time" from England/Germany/Europe, some from "fresh off the boat". The one thing I'm always reminded of is how blessed we are to live in the USA. Without exception, non-Americans are impressed with the overwhelming varieties of cuisines, flavors, and portion sizes. It really is humbling.
Oh Jamel this video was made just for you!!! Bet as soon as this was over you took off for Popeyes!!! Gotta check out more of these Jolly guys they’re hilarious!!
As a Louisiana woman living in England now...they do crack me up with some of the dishes I bring in to work...faces of joy 😂😂...but I do enjoy their food aswell...when I first brought some American candy (sweets) over...thought the parents of the kids in our street were going to kill me 😂...but the kids thought I was a hero 😂😂 xx
Jamel… As soon as I saw “Popeye’s”, I was thinking now HOW did I know you’d react to this??? ☝️😆. We, the good humans, all know of your love of “all things Popeye’s” ✋️😋🍗🍖🍔
Hey Jamel, I am here for it! Josh and Ollie have a series of British "Highschoolers try..." episodes. I just recently came across these myself and they are quite entertaining and it's refreshing to see their honest opinions! You might get a kick out of reacting to them too! Peace!
I loved it! When the two guys who run the channel had American barbecue! It was hilarious how excited they got over eating everything. And when they were in the south having banana pudding for the first time that was hilarious. You thought they were going to go in the place and eat all they had.
I watched that episode too! I agree, it was very entertaining to watch them eat nearly everything they could get their hands on! Oh yes, that's right, they went to that place Sweet Potatoes restaurant in the south, they did try that Banana pudding amongst many other things in that one and loved it! I'm sure Jamel will get around to that if he can find that episode from Jolly.
I love the JOLLY channel. If you are going to start watching. I suggest starting with the 1 st set of high schoolers. They introduce the boys to Korean food. ❤❤❤❤. I promise you’ll be hooked
You have just taken your first step down one of the most delicious Rabbit Holes ever. I’ve been watching Jolly for months and they are always so much fun. You need to check out all their videos with them trying Southern Food & American Fast Food.
Their reactions to biscuits were priceless. Ours scones are almost the same as your biscuits but ours are sweet and served with clotted cream and fruit jam.
They've done some videos where they came to the US and tried different food and restaurants and other places in different states. Including going to Bucc-ees gas station in Texas.
Thanks for sharing this video Jamal. I recently discovered the Jolly channel. Found it very interesting to see how our British brothers react to our food. 😋Peace!
Josh and Ollie also do the Korean Englishman channel. Earlier this year, they took about 8 students from last year’s graduating class to Korea. And they had another series they took a couple of British rappers to Korea. I love both Jolly and Korean Englishman.
I live in the Appalachian region of Kentucky. Years ago, I was working at a hotel and some English geology students were staying, studying our rock formations. They had never seen corn on the cob before. They bought some from the grocery store and we’re asking me how to prepare it.
They also have a channel called Korean Englishman where they share Korean food with high school kids (different kids, same school), rap artists, Will Smith, Arnold Schwartzenegger, and other celebrities.
Jolly does a great job kind of showing off a bit of culture & food the US has to provide. They show a British viewpoint to what they show. It's great content!
I can watch these kids try food for hours, but you’re right it is crazy. How cultures are so different because we’ll dip that chicken right in that mashed potatoes and gravy like nothing.!
While pregnant with my oldest son, 1990, I would make his father stop by the Popeyes, in Elgin Il, for a family size Red Beans and Rice, that's it. That was what I craved. Still a favorite even over the chicken,. No fast-food restaurant produces a good, mashed potatoes and gravy product that I have ever tried
We have a Popeyes right by the 'L' and bus station and it is great. They go through a ton of chicken with everyone stopping by on their way home from work.
Those kids have tried everything in America! Yes, please do Popeyes’s vlog! I loved your Italy vlog. If you tell Popeye’s about it, they would go the extra mile for you too!
I watched this Jolly video a while back. I went to Popeye’s a couple of weeks ago and asked for the Red Hot Honey and they had no clue what I was talking about. I went to the UK Popeye’s website and they have 9 different sauces.
I’m surprised you made it through the whole video with all that crunch I thought any minute you were going to get up take off for Popeyes and let it continue watching without you!!! Ps. I’d never tried Popeyes until about a year or so ago when I watched your Popeyes videos and kept hearing you talk about it!! Was really good… I especially loved the Beans and Rice!!
The problem with sharing fried chicken in other countries is that you can only get the fast food franchise food. In the South, our best chicken is found at the gas station.
We finally got a Popeye's in my Canadian city, and it's NOTHING like the Popeye's I had in Virginia. Same when BK came to Canada. It looks like they got the 'real deal', and best case.
Ooh! It’s late at night and I sure can’t get Popeye’s now. It’s been probably 3 weeks or so since I had some. I think that’s lunch tomorrow. The Jolly channel has a lot of fun videos. It’s not just kids trying the food they travel around going to restaurants trying food.
I love this one! i love POPEYES. I love the dirty rice, which I don't see much the last few years. Not the cajun rice, the dirty rice. If they have it I get a couple of large containers to bring home.
I RECENTLY WATCHED THESE VIDEOS THEY WERE SO GREAT TO WATCH! I LOVE ME SOME POPEYES! YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE JOLLY VIDEOS WHERE THE TWO GUYS COME TO THE US TO TRY DIFFERENT FOODS FROM ALL OVER THE US,
I've watched these kids. Their so cool. They liked biscuits and gravy when they didn't think they would. Biscuits in england are cookies I think so they probably thought " cookies"!?
there's a lot of fun "try" channels out there. there's "Irish people try" I like and at least a couple form India n Pakistan region called "villagers try" "tribal people try" and these people have never seen anything like the junk food they bring them. I haven't been to a Popeye's in years but 3 just popped up around here recently … I think I'm going.
There are a few UK popeyes in the last few years! A few US outlets are trying locations in the UK. Taco bell are everywhere now. Wendy's and Wing stop have appeared recently too in multiple UK locations.
I love Popeye's, but my local restaurant 4 blocks away is kind of lame. They always get your order wrong, don't do free drink refills, and they never have butter for the biscuits.
There's one of Josh, Ollie and Ollie's father trying different stinky cheeses that is pretty good. In fact there are several with Ollie's dad that are really fun, wholesome and funny.
I was more fascinated that they really do dress like Hogwarts students LOL However, that crunch has me ready to go to lunch and it's not even 7 am EST on Monday morning LOL. We don't have a Popeye's within 30 miles but I'm heading to Bojangles or KFC. Maybe Smithfield BBQ. they have really good fried chicken!
First of all, these kids are always a delight. The biscuits and gravy episode is a classic, but the boys are so well behaved, but still honest. It's heartening.
I agree! The biscuits and gravy one is the best episode with these kids.
Yes and the kids are so polite like you said, one of them was like he went Oliver Twist on them ....... Can i have some more please..... So polite
Black's and Buc-ee's exploded their minds, although, it was understandable.
The combination of the kids and Jolly/Ollie trying things in America is great.
Everything from Whataburger to Texas BBQ
Popeyes, the chicken shop that originated in New Orleans, has come from across the Atlantic and is having its moment in Britain. It opened its first UK venue in Stratford in 2021 and thanks to its success, new branches have been cropping up left, right and centre ever since.
Wendy's and Taco Bell are popping up all over the place too.
I cant wait until it makes it's way to Newcastle...I miss Popeyes so much ❤❤❤
You should watch British highschoolers try biscuits and gravy.
That's a good one!!!!
Have you watched their other channel, the Korean Englishman?
That is funny😂
Their reaction to trying Texas BBQ is the best!!!!
Thank you that just confirms that I have to go get chicken at 1015 at night LOL
I've been watching a lot of foodie videos, mostly "first time" from England/Germany/Europe, some from "fresh off the boat". Those kids are always fun to watch. Jolly is a good channel for something lighthearted.

Josh and Ollie have created a wonderful channel. Most episodes are worth the watch.
I love watching these kids. The biscuit and gravy video was the best.
I love Jolly channel especially when they are trying our food . I've seen this one loved it. These kids were so funny. There are orhers.

Jamel, God bless you! You made me laugh tonight when I needed it! 👊🙌🤗🙏
Thanks for sharing this video Jamal. I recently discovered the Jolly channel. Found it very interesting to see how our British brothers react to our food. 😋Peace!
Oh you could also take a look into Korean English Man.
I love Jolly! So fun. Thanks for the reaction! I hope you had a nice meal. :)
Thanks Jamel. That was funny. Good to see you laughing and smiling.
As a subscriber of Jolly and KoreanEnglishmen...their other channel...plus having your commentary makes this next level. Thoroughly enjoyable!
You just made the best Popeyes commercial ever
I adore the Jolly channel!! They’re so fun to watch.
I love your channel! Thank you
That's really great watching them get into it so much!
Jolly is a great channel. Their Texas and Southern videos are great
Josh and Ollie also do the Korean Englishman channel. Earlier this year, they took about 8 students from last year’s graduating class to Korea. And they had another series they took a couple of British rappers to Korea. I love both Jolly and Korean Englishman.
Love the Jolly channel. Always entertaining! 🤣
That was too cute cousin. Glad you did a reaction to this video
This was a great vid, enjoyed the reaction.
You will love watching the kids try biscuits and gravy and sweet tea...enjoy!

Creeping up on a million subs! Good luck!
Loved your adlibs while it was playing
You should consider reacting to Jolly/Ollie Texas and LA food tour videos. The one where they visit Buc-ee's is one of my favorites.
“I’m feeling the chips” 😂😂😂
A new Popeyes’ just opened up here in Nottingham City Centre. I think I should try it.
They also have a channel called Korean Englishman where they share Korean food with high school kids (different kids, same school), rap artists, Will Smith, Arnold Schwartzenegger, and other celebrities.
Shoutout to the amazing Jolly / Korean Englishman channels!
These are great too, i'd watch more
Jolly does a great job kind of showing off a bit of culture & food the US has to provide. They show a British viewpoint to what they show. It's great content!
Jamel, Josh and Ollie (Jolly) have loads of great vids! You’ll love ‘em!
I can watch these kids try food for hours, but you’re right it is crazy. How cultures are so different because we’ll dip that chicken right in that mashed potatoes and gravy like nothing.!
The Jolly channel has so much fun content …. Been a fan of their channel for a while.
Thank you for this!
Lol… the crunch! Make me want to go to Popeyes right now!!! 😮😮😮
Spicy chicken sandwich!!! Yum!!!
Agree with you. Popeye’s isn’t always consistent from place to place.
I love watching them.
Jolly is amazing, first of all. Also rock on Tyler, thats a baddass with a baddass fro.
Love those guys!
Now Britts know why we are a Super Sized country so much variety so much consumerization and we have food from everywhere
Oh, this is hysterical!
While pregnant with my oldest son, 1990, I would make his father stop by the Popeyes, in Elgin Il, for a family size Red Beans and Rice, that's it. That was what I craved. Their Channel Is Really Good
The biscuits and gravy episode is good as well
The kids were VERY charming.
I have never had Popeyes! I might need to try it someday
3:21 "I've never seen anyone do that before"
Pittsburghers: "Allow us to introduce ourselves."
FOOD will bring the world together.
Just had Popeye's today! Now I gotta watch the video. Lol
I love these videos. You should also check out the Tribal people that react to different foods! They're awesome!
Man , we need to send them West Virginia’s favorite the pepperoni roll , and Tudor’s Biscuit World
Those kids have tried everything in America!
I can't believe Jamel hasn't had the spicy chicken. Neither have I! 😂
Check out these kids trying BISQUITS & GRAVY or TACO BELL.
These kids & the teacher are hilarious.
You should check out their Biscuits and Gravy video and the Texas BBQ video
I LOVE POPEYE'S.
Great video Jamal!
😂😂
🕊️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸🎶

Popeyes is new to the UK , I’ve never tried them , but the boys seem impressed 😊
loved it lol!
I have digestive problems with fried food, but not with Popeyes! 😊 Their chicken and fries are cooked right and a real treat.
Yep, they are not standardized... that being said..I'll be having some for dinner tomorrow. Can't wait!
Jolly is a great channel.
I love this one! i love POPEYES. I love the dirty rice, which I don't see much the last few years. Not the cajun rice, the dirty rice. If they have it I get a couple of large containers to bring home.
I hope you enjoyed your dinner, Brother. That was pretty good. Thanks.
These kids are funny...have seen them many times.
I'm right there with you Jamal. I don't do hot either. My stomach just can't tolerate the spices involved.
JOLLY is a great channel. Josh & Ollie spent the summer eating their way through the US, mostly the south. Watch those videos too.
I cant believe i never realised it was jolly cause its josh and ollie til i read your comment just now
I RECENTLY WATCHED THESE VIDEOS THEY WERE SO GREAT TO WATCH! I LOVE ME SOME POPEYES! YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE JOLLY VIDEOS WHERE THE TWO GUYS COME TO THE US TO TRY DIFFERENT FOODS FROM ALL OVER THE US,
I have been watching Jolly for years,, bur this is the first time I know what's for dinner.
You definitely need to do more Jolly videos!!!
I've watched these kids. Their so cool. They liked biscuits and gravy when they didn't think they would. Biscuits in england are cookies I think so they probably thought " cookies"!?
Gravy on the cookies 🍪
Surprised they didn't include the sweet tea. That's one of their signature items.

I'm behind on Irish people try. When I binge watch I start thinking in an Irish accent 🤣
Irish people try Jack Daniels is my favorite. Think I'll go watch it again.
@@deborahpaley21 which one, there are dozens!
I truly live Jolly. They also have another channel called The Korean Englishman and its awesome too!! 💕💕
Jolly and Korean Englishman are great channels
Wow does this make me want some Popeyes now! They are the best
There are a few UK popeyes in the last few years! A few US outlets are trying locations in the UK. Taco bell are everywhere now. Wendy's and Wing stop have appeared recently too in multiple UK locations.
Any fast food biscuits need to be microwaved for 15 seconds split it open to spread the melted butter and then add the honey.
I love Popeye's, but my local restaurant 4 blocks away is kind of lame. They always get your order wrong, don't do free drink refills, and they never have butter for the biscuits.
