WOW! That was the clearest explanation of sensorineural hearing loss I've ever been given as a hard-of-hearing hearing aid wearing person. I'm so glad I stumbled onto this one! Other audiologists and hearing instrument specialists should just show everyone this video! Thanks for the explanation, Dr. Cliff!
As a person with SNHL in both ears, I appreciate how clear you sounded in your videos. I understood very well your videos even though I turned down my volume in a minimum level.
I too have SNHL in both ears, in the very low decibel range..the loss doesn't affect conversational hearing at all..however, I have horrible head tinnitus that sounds like Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Do you have tinnitus and if you do how do you deal with it? I have tinnitus as well in my right ear, but it's very high pitched and I've habituated to it...habituating to the roar in my head is something I've not been able to achieve, I'm in my fifth year dealing with it...some days I have no tinnitus at all.
Excellent explanation. I do wear hearing aids now and I have Sensorineural Hearing Loss. I don't recall the audiologist explaining it to me this way. I actually read my health record and see it shows sensorineural hearing loss...although she is very nice, she never explained it to me the way you did in this video. Great job and thanks so much for this information.
Thank you, Dr. Cliff, for the clear explanation on sensorineural hearing loss! I'm wrapping up my speech-language pathology graduate program with oral exams soon, and your video was a superb refresher on this topic from my audiology coursework years ago.
Better perform an audiogram!that'll help u detect what kind of hearing loss is it!!it might be conductive!u can't just figure out with these videos..u gotta seek a doctor soon!!hope u takecare!
Same, I had my first hearing test the day after my 21st birthday. Definitely tell someone though and go to a doctor. They’ll be able to tell straight away if it could be a quick fix (wax buildup deep down) or if you need to have a hearing test.
Same here with my left ear,I’m 15 and I had a brain tumor removed about 2 and a half years ago.Since then I have has constant ringing in both of my ears,I’ve lost a smaller amount of my ability to detect higher frequencies but it still effects me every day or every other day-I’m most likely getting hearing aids sometime in the near future so that I can hear a bit more clearly but I would definitely recommend talking to your parents and consider scheduling an Audiology appointment at your local healthcare center to see what you learn and what treatment options are available to you.
I am 48. On 31/08/2021, after a short afternoon nap, I suddenly could no longer hear from my right ear. The conduit to the tympan had been swollen for a couple of days but nothing serious. I went to the ER and diagnosis was otitis (there was redness surrounding the tympan) with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drops for 5 days. No change. In the shower, could not feel the water jet hitting my tympan. It was that bad. Went back to the ER. Now prescribed oral antibiotics for 5 days. Amoxicillin. No change. Finally went to my GP who diagnosed SSHL and immediately put on oral steroids by an ENT specialist for 10 days 60mg of Prednisone. I did get more flexibility in the ear but no change as to my hearing. Oral steroids were extended for another 4 days at the same dosage and tapered for 3 days. No change. First injection into the ear via the tympan. 1 week later no change. Audio still shows -60 to 80 db for lower frequencies and between -60db and -120db for higher frequencies. Now on a further 7 days of oral steroids, 60mg Prednisone. No change. Absolutely devastated. A buzzing noise in my ear outside when there is a lot of traffic. And it feels blocked. Still clinging to hope but time is against me....
I always had excellent hearing, then about 25 years ago when I was in my late forties, overnight I developed SNHL. I went to work as normal and found that I couldn’t hear the telephone clearly in my left ear. I had the phone replaced, but had no improvement. I saw a ENT physician and I learned for the first time about SNHL. He sent me to have an MRI to eliminate the presence of any tumor or other cause (negative), but other than that no treatment options were available. My right ear improved-not to 100 percent-but the left ear continued to get worse. I now wear hearing aids; they have some limitations, which I’m sure is different for everyone. However, today’s technology is great. A side note: I had difficulty hearing, but during the COVID epidemic, trying to hear people who were wearing masks and/or standing behind a plexiglass shield was maddening. I still think everyone mumbles.😊
Dr. Cliff, I have tinnitus & hyperacusis, and wear protection in environments predictably above 80(ish) dB. I wholly trust you, your audiological opinion, and your sniper background, here, and wanted to get an idea of whether perchance I was having a reactive sort of spike/fullness condition - or a genuine acoustical trauma situation. I cannot visit with an audiologist any time soon, and am a tad concerned. We live in a semi-rural environment, and sometimes guns go off in the vicinity, for whatever reason - but I don't always wear plugs outside in my own yard. Today, I went out to use my reel-mower and enjoy the sounds of nature - but, after nearly an hour, a single shot occurred from the vicinity of where the neighbors often target practice directly behind our property. It must have been muffled some by the new, Spring tree-growth between us, or it came from further out from where they usually shoot, because it did not cause any pain when the waves hit my ear - like it did a time prior. I do have a slight fullness, and a blown-speaker(ish) sound in one ear, and a moderate-to-heavy spike in both though (of course, maybe a bit of it's from stress). Anyhow, just a single shot from probably a 9mm - from at least 25 meters. Lastly, because it sounded like a 9mm pistol, I did the Distance Attenuation Calculator thing, and it said the 9mm's 160 dB was reduced to about 133 dB. Then I looked up the treeline attenuation potential and they put it at up to a 10 dB reduction - or an approximate 123 dB. Other than that, it was mostly cloudy, and that is supposed to mean it didn't disperse as much as on a clear day. Hence, I ask you - the one who knows guns/ears better than anyone: what perchance could one-solitary-low-caliber-shot, under those conditions, mean to my susceptible ears? Please advise, and thank you tremendously for reading, Dr. Cliff.
I had a really bad ear infection on my right side and it seems now that my hearing is just fucked. I can hear but it's usually muffled, sounds like I'm underwater sometimes. It's so frustrating because I constantly have to get people to repeat themselves and I rely on lipreading sometimes. I haven't seen a doctor yet but I'm so scared that it could be a tumor or something. The noise thing is definitely something I experience - everything just gets drowned out and I can't make sense of anything.
Can you please do a video on severe reverse slope hearing loss? I am 26 and had moderate hearing loss my whole life but now it seems to be getting worse & is 'severe' on the audiogram. I was told my type of hearing loss is pretty rare but was left with more questions and would love to learn more!
I just ran across this video while trying to understand why my hearing has gotten so bad. I need to see an audiologist soon (only went once three years ago) because it's bad enough now to where it's impacting how I work. I appreciate your video so much- the way you explained high and low frequency in a noisy environment helps a lot! I think I might be able to help my boss understand better now. Thank you!!
@@DrCliffAuD Actually, I was wondering if it's normal to have normal hearing test results in a quiet, controlled environment but still present with trouble understanding speech/other sounds in a normal environment? Just got back from getting my hearing checked, and apparently there's nothing wrong physically? Any insight?
I can't hear with my right ear since childhood. :( It's sensorineural hearing loss. And there is no treatment of it (according to my doctor). I wish I could hear someday with my ear. I want to experience how it feels.
Hello Dr, My nephew has just been diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. However, he has been complaining of this pain in his ear for 2 years now! No painkillers or spray works and upon MRI examination, the inside of the ears look normal is what all ENT consultants have said. Where is this pain coming from? It has affected my nephew's life massively and he is on the verge of dropping out of college because of the constant pain. The colder the months get the more he is in pain.
Hi, I'm Suchona..A medical student.I have profound mixed type hearing loss in right ear and mild sensorineural hearing loss in left ear..will I gradually become deaf? what should I do now to prevent more hearing loss?
for a few years now the background noises around me seems to drown out when people are talking people who are talking even near me sounds like they are mumbling
I have a cookie bite hearing loss (as I think I heard you do) and have been encouraged to buy hearing aids to treat this. You said in an interview that hearing aids are not an appropriate treatment for cookie bite hearing loss so I'm curious - what do you recommend?
My dr also said cookie bite and I can heae perfectly but not with background noises at a restaurant. She recommended a hearing aid and get to try them at her office and I couldn’t tell the difference because I can hear clearly not wearing hearing aids.
Always enjoy your videos. Honest and informative. Yet, I've always wondered why you looked familiar to me, yet I've never been in Arizona. Today it just hit me - Jim Carrey. Anyone else notice this? 🤨
SSNHL hit me at 2030 26 Jul 24 and by 2100 I was fundamentally deaf in my RIGHT ear. Hearing was greatly diminished but I could turn up the sound system and the perceived midrange and treble was staticky like a wire sparking...bass wasn't right either...boomy for the low volume. Mids to highs sounded ike a blown audio amp causing "clipping" of the audio sine waves resulting in distortion. Since then, I've consumed information on SNHL. The sophisticated hearing test indicated my new R ear ability was 16% of what it had been. My first Prednisone perfusion (shot thru the eardrum) was on Friday 1 week after the occurrence, another on Monday, and Wednesday and I'm on a 2 week treatment of Prednisone tablets. My ear constantly feels as if it needs to "pop..." and has a "rush noise" in the key of F#. It's aggravating, but livable. Normal everyday sounds come at you from different angles than you're accustomed to, I guarantee! I feel like I have slight improvement as I'm constantly "experimenting" with it, but I can't rule out wishful thinking. This video referred to this being a "common" type of HL and I have to say...a consistent statement I see in research it is the relative RARRITY of SNHL...I've seen 5-10 per 10,000 persons up to 20-40 per 100,000 persons. (MedScape, WebMD.) Had I watched this video first, my thoughts would have been, "...this happens to everybody!" Kudos for him advising to have this seen about immediately...don't wait. My Neuro-otology Dr. gives me 66% chance of regaining a functional amount of hearing. Allbest!!
Dr. Cliff, I have been following your videos intently the last few weeks. I have been experiencing terrible diplacusis. Being a professional violinist and Orchestras teacher this has been a frustrating, discouraging and difficult time. Can you shed any light on the possible cause, treatment that you know of? Additionally, since December of 2020 I have lost nearly all hearing in my right ear. It's very odd because the degree to which I can hear changes day by day and even with in a given day
I have experience this in 3 times one tim i was taking care of my younger sis while watching tv, the volume is 15 tuen suddenly my left ear and go deaf and i hear high pitched noice, i got scared.. pls help me, i cant go to the hospital cuz theres covid 19 i might get infected, pls help me im also 10 years old...
A bit confused with what you said about losing the ability to hear high frequencies. Here's why: I'm 40+, and to add to that, I've grown up from my early teenage years being in very noisy environments (clubs etc 4-6 times a week! lol) for YEARS ON END; and now my profession is also music-related, so I've been in very noisy surroundings for nearly 30 years. VERY frequently. What I don't understand is while I usually can't make out what people are saying when they talk in a lower volume, and when the there's mid-high volume background music I can hear the music but not them (whilst other people in our group can hear them) why is it that high-frequency sounds irritate me (when it doesn't irritate others)?? A bar, for example, had the bass frequencies nearly cut off (neighbors where complaining) and the sound was so terrible that it physically HURT my ears. While friends thought the sound was indeed bad, but were not "hurt" by it as I was. I mean, if, as you say, the reason that I can't make out what people are saying (in the above 2 scenarios I mention) is because I've lost the ability to hear mid-high/high frequencies, then shouldn't that mean that high frequencies would NOT BE ABLE to irritate me (since I can't hear them well to begin with)??
Hi,Dr.Cliff just Friday my left ear has been acting really strange. Everything is muffled and my ear hurts and it’s making me nauseous and dizzy. I told my parents about it but I don’t think they get how much harder it has gotten to hear. But all of this happened in the middle of the night, so I’m pretty worried. And also thank you for this video
Would you have a video or feedback from patients on life with a CROS? Or similar aid? I am 40 now and have had SSD since age 1, I would like to know if patients who've introduced a hearing aid long after the onset of their deafness have experienced good benefit from it? E.g. to what degree are the main defects of SSD improved - like hearing in noisy environments, localisation, etc.? I would love to hear ;) if they feel their hearing is substantially aided by a CROS or similar. I find social situations so exhausting with just one ear.
I have hearing loss in one ear. Its been like 4 months now, the doctor said to come back in 6 months and no progress has been made. The first I realized I couldnt heat well, my parents went to the doctor after few days and it wasnt the cause of ear wax. I cant remember but It wasnt because of earwax. I dont know how I got this mess. Me sad me so sad
Since 16 i've had a pretty severe ringing in my left ear. I believe it happened when I was outside my backyard shooting a 16 gauge shotgun. I slowly got worse and it's to the point where there's distortion when people talk. It sounds like a blown speaker and there's pain. I'm now 23 years old. I'm worried of further damaging my left ear to where the slightest sounds cause this sensitivity. I'm writing today to see if anyone has some better insight on what more to do. I saw 2 specialists, the first; saying sorry this happened to you but there's nothing we can do. The second; saying the left ear popping everytime you swallow will slowly alleviate the pressure/trauma and it should heal with time. Do you guys have an idea of what my left ear popping nearly every time I swallow is? I always believed it to be him just trying to give me hope. Lately, i've been hearing this ticking/pulsating sound in my left ear. It seemed like my hyperacusis was only getting worse from it. My ear would feel numb or itchy as well. Another symptom i've noticed is a heartbeat like sound in just my left ear. It tends to cause earaches or headaches, weirdest thing. Obviously stress and drinking can play a huge factor in this as well. I recently purchased air pod pros to be able to play pink noise and utilize transparency mode in order to aid my hearing. I've read posts where they say pink noise for a couple years each day will slowly act like a rehab for your ear. I've only been doing this for maybe 2 weeks. Do you guys find that pink noise was the best option? If so, how loud and what app do you prefer? Does anyone know of an app where you can play pink noise as well as listen to music or a podcast at the same time? Do you know of some ground breaking hearing aid that's unrecognizable that would help in public/busy areas? I was thinking some device that would reduce the noise input coming into your ear and producing a cleaner/lesser output back into the ear. The ringing in my ear is bearable but the loud high frequency distortion is the hardest part.I don't know how much longer i can take it. I tend to avoid loud areas as much as possible but sometimes you can't escape it. You do have to live a little and socialize right? I also play hockey and it's super loud in the rink. Or is it not worth the chance of having it get even worse? Because i cannot even imagine how life would be. Is there some hope in all of this? Paul Stamets has some interesting research with mushrooms/neurogenesis and what not. I do see posts shedding more light on this unfortunate reality which is motivating. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I caught COVID 3 months ago and took hearing tests, which led to bilateral SNHL in both ears. Mild in my right and moderate in my left ears. I'm also a musician, and I can't hear high-frequency sounds
My ears feels muffled and but I can still hear pretty good it’s just the muffle that annoys me I also read that sinuses can make your ears feel this way it started in the right but now both ears are muffled do you think I’m going deaf?

I put a Neurophone on 3 middle aged people who were deaf from birth, in Indonesia, with music from my lap top, and they heard the music for the first time in their life, - but only in one ear?
Doc, I have had this problem in my right ear for about 3 years now but it isn't affecting me in any way so far, the effects have stayed the same since that time but I think I got this from my friend screaming in my ear back then, any possible diagnosis?
I'm confused on the Cros hearing device. You said it " sends sounds from your bad ear or the ear that no longer hears and re routes it to you better ear." How does it pick up sounds from an ear that no longer hears? My better ear already hears things. I'm just not understanding the dynamics of this device. I'm seeing an audiologist soon and My ENT has recommended this particular device. Please help me understand it more clearly Thank you
Can you do a video on reverse curve hearing loss please? I had a sudden loss in one ear in my thirties. Old analog hearing aid was 👎 so getting my first hearing aid (thirty plus years later) supposed to be helpful now. Is my type of loss (reverse curve) common?

I have a hearing loss in my right ear [My Approximation is that i hear only 30-50% on that ear]while my left ear is normal..So i went to a doctor and i went to the audiograms and they told me what i already knew, but gave me some pills that i took and in the end it didnt help but to them it helped and i know i am not crazy but my right ear is like muffled and i hear less on it...So my questions are Will my left ear stay normal if i protect it in maximum effort and should i go to a doctor again and what should i say to them that could help me fix my hearing or is it unfixable. I am 18 I had this hearing loss for quite some time but i didnt go to a doctor because i tought it was nothing

Thanks Doctor Cliff. I have a neurological disability called Auditory Processing Disorder. Would hearing aids be better for me ? 👂👍Watching from London UK. 🇬🇧
Sir, I beg to differ. Seems there are 4 types of hearing loss. Here is #4: 4. Auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD): The least common hearing impairment is ANSD. This type of loss requires more in-depth diagnostic testing, including a hearing evaluation with pure tones, otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) and auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing. In this type of hearing loss, the nerve fibers in the organ of hearing typically appear to be functioning well, but a breakdown of the information occurs along the pathway to the brain. A person may still have normal hearing to sounds, but the sound is not encoded properly at the brain. This type of hearing disorder is diagnosed more often in children, due in part to newborn hearing screenings that use automated ABR equipment and routine speech screenings by pediatricians and school systems, but can be present in adults as well.
My right side having moderate hearing loss and left side is mild. My right ear 👂 keeps going deaf then working again I just get my mum to put some olive oil in it only a drop that works it's probably just climate change the cold can affect hearing 👂 loss it's most common in the right ear more than the left. Just give it time to get better. Get fresh air, clean your ears or you can just riddle your right ear about I do that and it sometimes works.
I shoot a lot and I shoot quite a bit indoors. Most of the gunshots are 160 db+ and the concussions created by firearms especially rifles indoors is intense.. For instance if you hold a piece of paper next to the muzzle of pretty much any rifle, it will shred it from the concussion alone (no bullet, just the muzzle blast) . I wear foam earplugs (32NRR) underneath ear muffs (26NRR) So I'm wearing pretty much the most protection possible. Yesterday, I was at the range and there were 5 or 6 other people shooting rifles, after half an hour my left ear started to hurt ( first time that's ever happened, even shooting without ear pro when hunting my ears ring but don't hurt) I'm wondering about the risk of percussive damage to the ear through bone conduction. Common sense would tell me despite wearing ear protection if my ears hurt, damage is probably being done... I wouldn't think ear pro would do anything for the percussive force of an explosion propagating through your bones/ tissue and stimulating the middle ear bones. My question is, would the concussion from shooting warrant any concern even if the ear canal is sufficiently protected?
I believe so yes. The damage occurs if the Hair Cells are jarred too much. Depending on the dB level and consistency of exposure, I do believe Bone Conduction could cause hearing loss.
Im getting hearing problem from both ears since 2010. I hv showed with doctor n they hv suggested to use hearing aid. Is it gud to use hearing aid after loosing 25percent hearing loss?Is there any natural way of treatment?
It depends on the severity of the loss. A complete sensorineural loss can render someone completely deaf, whereas a complete conductive loss on its own would still let you hear louder sounds.
Hi Dr. Cliff I was diagnosed with a sensineural hearing loss, during my 10th to 11th grade year of high school my question is do i still have my hearing loss that I was diagnosed with then right now or did it go away on its own? I believe I still have my diagnosed hearing loss.
I was sick this days(cold) , and from the right ear i can't hear really good, but from the other i hear normal, do you think this is from the cold (i have it over 6 days)

Cliff.
Great video, thanks
Thanks for these vidz
You're welcome!
high frequency hearing loss is most common problem in hearing loss. thats the reason why we hear ringing in the ear or tinnitus.
Very good information here.
Thanks Kerry!
Talks about hearing loss,
captions are default ._.
I lose hearing in one ear suddenly at random but it only last for a few seconds. I even feal a little off when it happens almost off balance.
Have you seen a doctor? Sudden hearing loss is emergency worthy.
DID IT GET BETTER FOR YOU?
Thank you!!
Hi Olivia. Glad to help. If you have any questions, let me know.
Thank you 😭🙏🏾
What hearing aids would you recommend for SNHL?
I can't hear with my right ear since childhood. :( It's sensorineural hearing loss. And there is no treatment of it (according to my doctor).
I wish I could hear someday with my ear. I want to experience how it feels.
Hello Dr,
My nephew has just been diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss.
The colder the months get the more he is in pain.
super good
Hi, I'm Suchona..A medical student.I have profound mixed type hearing loss in right ear and mild sensorineural hearing loss in left ear..will I gradually become deaf? what should I do now to prevent more hearing loss?
You found any solution it will be helpful if you can share
No youre not
Hi, how are you now?
Dr Cliff is there any treatment available for sensoneural hearing loss apart from hearing aid.
Who watched this on a very low volume from fear that you may damage your ears even more?
Do you have ringing in your ears also?
for a few years now the background noises around me seems to drown out when people are talking people who are talking even near me sounds like they are mumbling
If I hear that high pitch ringing regularly a lot does that mean something
Thanks,Is hearing slowly as if things are going very slow what can that be?
(MedScape, WebMD.) Had I watched this video first, my thoughts would have been, "...this happens to everybody!"
Kudos for him advising to have this seen about immediately...don't wait.
It's very odd because the degree to which I can hear changes day by day and even with in a given day
Hi Dr cliff I wear hearing aids and I love that I can hear netter and what if I totally lose my hearing
How can an audiologist tell if the inner or outer hair cells have died from tone tests?
I have SSD and sometimes I “hear” scratching noises in my profoundly deaf ear. What is that?
You couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant.
Did you ever find out?
Hi,Dr.Cliff just Friday my left ear has been acting really strange. Everything is muffled and my ear hurts and it’s making me nauseous and dizzy. I told my parents about it but I don’t think they get how much harder it has gotten to hear. But all of this happened in the middle of the night, so I’m pretty worried. And also thank you for this video
Just happened to me
Did it get better for you?
Tell your parents you need to see a ENT right away. It might be viral and time is of essence.
Hello. Doc. Can moderate hearing loss can cure?
Thanks!
Found a solution pal ?
I caught COVID 3 months ago and took hearing tests, which led to bilateral SNHL in both ears. Mild in my right and moderate in my left ears. I'm also a musician, and I can't hear high-frequency sounds
What is severe hearing loss and wich type this...hearing loss
My ears feels muffled and but I can still hear pretty good it’s just the muffle that annoys me I also read that sinuses can make your ears feel this way it started in the right but now both ears are muffled do you think I’m going deaf?
Is this SHNL condition cause vertigo and dizziness?
Yes it can
Dr. Cliff, Thank you so much for the informative video's. Can you clarify that it's possible via testing to determine the type of sensioneural hearing loss that is being experienced?
Traditional hearing tests are designed to determine exactly that.
Is it possible that my hearing loss could be from 80% on my right ear could be dairy allergies because they say that’s the worst allergies out of the food area and I’m eating dairy all my life but when I do eat cheese my ear feels like it is plugged and when I drink heavy dairy cream doing keto I feel my heart pounding through my ears I can hear my heart pounding through my ears I’m wondering if anybody can relate because I’m 67 and I’ve done dairy all my life but I don’t like being deaf in one ear so can anybody relate please

Hi Dr. Cliff, I am taking classes to finish my BSN and I have to write a paper about Nerve Deafness. I was wondering if Sensorineural Hearing Loss is the same thing? I hope you reply. Thank you !
Can sensorineural hearing loss be treated by any surgery, as hearing aids cant be worn by youngsters. It would be too embarassing. Please reply.😢
I put a Neurophone on 3 middle aged people who were deaf from birth, in Indonesia, with music from my lap top,

Doc, I have had this problem in my right ear for about 3 years now but it isn't affecting me in any way so far, the effects have stayed the same since that time but I think I got this from my friend screaming in my ear back then, any possible diagnosis?
Is it hearing loss if someone has a difficulty telling what direction a sound is coming from?
I'm confused on the Cros hearing device. You said it " sends sounds from your bad ear or the ear that no longer hears and re routes it to you better ear."
How does it pick up sounds from an ear that no longer hears? My better ear already hears things. I'm just not understanding the dynamics of this device.
I'm seeing an audiologist soon and My ENT has recommended this particular device. Please help me understand it more clearly
Thank you
Can you do a video on reverse curve hearing loss please?

I am 18
I had this hearing loss for quite some time but i didnt go to a doctor because i tought it was nothing

I have SNHL in both ears, in the very low decibel range..the loss doesn't affect conversational hearing at all..however, I have horrible head tinnitus that sounds like Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. I also have tinnitus in my right ear, but it's very high pitched and I've habituated to it without any problems, in fact, without having to even try...but habituating to the roar in my head is something I've not been able to achieve, I'm in my fifth year dealing with it...some days I have no tinnitus at all. I've been diagnosed with vestibular migraine, but I also have symptoms of Menieres as well as MdDS. How can I make sure I have the right diagnosis?
I have like crickets/ringing sounds on my right ear cause of hearing loss :( how will I fix this, will it just go away or go to the doctor??

How are you now?
My right ear 👂 keeps going deaf then working again I just get my mum to put some olive oil in it only a drop that works it's probably just climate change the cold can affect hearing 👂 loss it's most common in the right ear more than the left. Just give it time to get better. Get fresh air, clean your ears or you can just riddle your right ear about I do that and it sometimes works.

Yes, I've seen it many times.
Doctor Cliff, AuD how can I tell the difference wether if its sshl or just fluid in middle ear?

@@DrCliffAuD Thanks for the reply
Im getting hearing problem from both ears since 2010. I hv showed with doctor n they hv suggested to use hearing aid. Is it gud to use hearing aid after loosing 25percent hearing loss?Is there any natural way of treatment?
question is conductive hearing loss and sensory neural hearing loss both can't hear? at all
It depends on the severity of the loss.
Sensorineural hearing losses do not go away. They can only be treated by hearing aids, and in some severe cases, a cochlear implant.
@@DrCliffAuD
Thank you for your quick reply. I thought so. My sensineural hearing loss is in my right ear only and my hearing in my left ear is fine.
