Dillon here, I’m 22 years old now & doing much better, some challenges ahead but the amputation was completely beneficial still, this was filmed inbetween Sep 2013- Feb 2015, so I’m surprised to see it resurface again. I haven’t rewatched. Only stopped to comment, 22 year old me will be embarrassed seeing my younger self. I’m presuming you guys at Banijay were given permission from the production to upload here?
Thank you so much for replying to my other post! I think you should be proud of your younger self, Dillon. Not many kids of that age are as mature & sensible as you were. So glad you are doing much better. I hope your parents are well too!
Whoever called Dylans leg disgusting, gave this sweet child shame that he did not deserve. What a monster of a person. I’m glad this sweet boy has a great support system and a smart head on his shoulders. Please continue to grow up strong Dylan ❤️❤️
Yes, that was absolutely horrible to hear that someone would make a child as beautiful and sensitive as Dillon feel worse about a leg that already gives him so much pain and sadness. It really is shocking that someone would ever say such a horrible thing and I can only say that they have a much greater disability than Dillon ever had. He is one of the strongest young men I have ever ever seen. He deserves the absolute best in life. ❤
What an utterly charming, mature and intelligent boy. Dylan has such a lovely personality and he deserves all the best. It was heartbreaking to see him in tears and by amputating his leg, he felt that he’d be able to participate and enjoy his life more. His parents are obviously a huge support and have helped him cope with his disabilities and made him such an amazing young man.
I completely agree, mature and confident beyond his tender years. I devloped a pain condition at 22/23, have complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) in my left leg so have lived with severe pain since. The times i have said i wanted it gone are too numerous to count, even though i know the reality, that my pain isn't cause by my actual leg, that it could remain just like phantom limb pain. I really hope Dillon is pain free and managing as near normal a life as possible at this age.

That kid always ahead of the curve if he can stand on stage in front that many kids and speak that well most adults can’t even speak in front that many
Dylan! I’m with you! I made the same decision. I’m having my left leg amputated as well. I’m tired of the pain and not being able to do things I want to do like walk for more that 2 minutes at a time and play outside with my grandkids, I’m 57 now. I’ve lived in pain off and on since I was 12, your age. I was hit by a car, so I understand where you’re at and how you feel. Keep fight kid!!!
An adult telling him that his leg is disgusting is the real one who is disgusting! Shame on them! I feel so bad for this kid who suffers emotionally and physically.
I must say that Dylan is one the most well spoken 12yr olds I've ever listen to speak! Well wishes Dylan sent to you from California!! Always fight for what you believe is... in the best intrest for YOU!!!!!
😢this really hits home my mom had a horrible illness in her feet that the doctor tried to help her with and it unfortunately led down a path of amputation of both of her feet below the knee and it was difficult but when you feel better hurt less and can heal physically and mentally it’s worth the challenge of amputation plus the opportunity for my mom to finally not battle with devastating infection and constant bandages was truly life changing for the better i wish him the very best going forward
Dillon, you are wise beyond your years. I'm sorry it took a broken leg, to finally get the amputation. I hope you can play football with your friends soon. Wishing you a bright future. Hugs, from NZ.
Dillon is such an extraordinary boy. His maturity and intelligence is outstanding. Given his situation, he copes snd goes forward. I applaud him for his courage. His parents are so supportive too.
What a brave young man Dillon is! I hope he finds relief from his pain. I am over 50 and live in constant pain due to arthritis so I empathize with him. If the doctors can confirm that by removing his leg will stop the tumors in his leg and the tumors won’t affect other parts of his body then I think amputation should be done. No one knows their body better than themselves!
Dylan is striking mature smart boy who accomplish wonders in his life his parents are just as awesome. So supportive and caring who only want the best for their child .❤❤
Dillon is wise beyond his years. I'm glad they finally amputated for him. I kept thinking, "Just amputate his leg! He has to live with it, not you! His family have to see him live with it every day, not you!" Yes, lots to be weighed in on with a major surgery like that but if you or the doctors don't have the same pain and challenges, you won't know what it's like. I hope he's having an amazing life now.
What a beautiful young man you truly are Dillon!.. you really are so brave and such an inspiration to many others with a disability and I hope life is treating you well. I imagine there will probably still be some hurdles you may have to deal with and i have no doubt whatever you will face them head on and just get on with it will your beautiful mum and dad right in your corner every step of the way. I would love to know how you are going now and if you are truly happy after such a life changing decision with your op!. All the best for your future endeavors and im sure you will go far with whatever you choose to do!! 💙👍🙋🇦🇺🦘🐨
Dylan!!!! You are just SOO BRAVE!!! All my admiration to you, since you’ve got to cope with such a hard a challenging condition!!! You ara definitely setting much better possibilities for the rest of us, who can inherit or develop the same! Thanks for being so strong, brave and mature, making decisions that hard! All my blessings to you and your beautiful family!!!🎉🎉🎉
In a way I understand what this young man is going through. I shattered my leg 11 years ago and I begged doctors to amputate from all the pain and how disabled I was. Finally 3 years ago, a doctor listened to me and amputated it. Unfortunately, I developed CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) after and I am in more pain then before. Thankfully I have a wonderful doctor now who treats me with meds that I need.
So sorry for your pain. As with Dillon's doctor's, certain nerves need to be cut to stop pain. I would find another surgeon who may be able to help resolve this. Best of luck to you.
Sharing your journey definitely will help others. Obviously a brave little boy to have endured such trauma. Relieved to hear the surgery was beneficial. Wishing you everything positive ❣️🙏🥰
Dillon, you are a remarkable young man. And...you have awesome parents! You showed a maturity beyond your years. I wish you love. Bless you, young Dillon
Dylan has such amazing parents. And what a cool kid. Love all of them! I am so glad that they went home and all got on the same page and next time they go to the doctor they will go back in as a united front. I think they are making the right decision. As it’s what Dylan wants and it will be better for his back as slinger back puts his spine out of line will create big problems. He will be able to walk faster and run with an amputated leg.
What a beautiful boy . Darling boy as you grow you will learn that you are more normal then most jerks out their. Right now of course it’s emotionally painful with the reality of daily agony. I have oestioperosis and a rare form of ms ,I am almost 55 and a nan to to amazing grandsons,my youngest was born very early with a cleft lip and he struggled for a long time. He always had my loving arms to comfort him and your mum and dad and grand parents are incredible . I hope you find peace and some relief love and hugs from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 xox .
I come to this discussion having a younger brother who has cerebral Palsy and has suffered a lot with such … I am also a licensed physical therapist … and as such if this young man were my son I would take him to a physiotherapist who can gave him practice as to how he would need to move after an amputation and as to how a prosthesis would feel as well … not as comfortable nor easy to use as one might think … but technology does continue to help in this area … Best of luck young man! All our best wishes! Feel free to write back with any questions!
I'm sorry that there's so many rude and hateful people that should learn to keep their mouth shut. You are an extraordinary young man. Even though I'm not your mom or Dad I'm very proud of the young man you are.
What a beautiful boy! I have so much love for him and his parents over this difficult journey and his amputation. Im sure he will go on to do great things and live an amazing life❤
I had all my teeth extracted last year. I had healthy teeth, but they were causing severe nerve pain that started in my teeth and spread out to my whole face, jaws, head, neck and shoulders. The pain made me want to stop existing, even with heavy pain medication. I lived that way for about 15 years, it started in my 20s and got progressively worse. I saw dentists, neurologists, psychiatrists, etc. No real answers other than the roots of my teeth putting pressure on some nerves. Since I'm in the US I had to pay for the extractions and dentures, I had to come up with 17k. I had all of my teeth extracted under anesthesia, and I immediately felt better having them out, even with the soreness from the extractions. The nerve pain calmed down very quickly and I haven't had severe pain in my face/head/neck since the extractions. I can't have implants, but I've adjusted to dentures very well because it's just so much better than having teeth. Sometimes there's just no other options when something is causing debilitating pain, and it just has to go.
Dillon is a gorgeous brave boy, i love him ❤️ Dillon's parent's are loving and kind they love their son and Dillon loves them. I'm so happy for Dillon and his parent's. Dillon will have a happy life now. Thank you to the surgeons for helping this gorgeous boy. Love and blessings to you all 🙏🏻✝️❤️ Love from Australia ❤❤❤
Too bad they didn't really listen to him so much sooner. I can see the damage being done to his hips and back. Such a tough young man and I imagine he has turned into a fine man by now
Hello Dillon. You're a wonderful young man. It hurts me that people hurt you with their discusting comments; they're the ones with the problem, not you. You're precious. I wish you all the best in the world. 🥰
Did the hospital send the amputated leg off to be dissected and studied? If so, did they learn anything from it? I, like many others, would like an in-depth follow-up documentary on how Dillion is doing.
Dylan, I had surgery on my knee, a total knee replacement. While it's not as severe as having a leg amputation. Bless you and hope you can realize that future you are looking for, you are blessed to have wonderful family with you. I would love to know how you have progressed .
It is 100 billion percent in his best interest his quality of life is at stake. Being in constant pain all the time is not fun, I go through it every day with my back, but unlike a leg that can be amputated, I cannot cut my back off. 😞 I wish all the best to this little boy in life. 🍀
That woman at the pool is disgusting for saying that to a little boy. She is the disgusting one. Words can leave lasting hurt. It really helps when someone else sticks up for the child by bluntly addressing a person who is so ignorant and bringing them up short on belittling a child.
I knew a child who had a birthmark on her toes, resulting in fragile blood vessels there, close to the surface. Even catching her toes on her bedsheets was painful and resulted in heavy bleeding that was often hard to control. She had to get emergency help a few times, when the bleeding could not be brought under control at home. She couldn't even go to the schools of her choice; they wouldn't agree to accept her enrolment, as she was an insurance risk. In the end, she and her parents decided to amputate the effected toes, to give her a better quality of life. She has never looked back.
What a beautiful young boy Dylan is. ❤ The part i am struggling to understand is why you told the doctor you were not in pain anymore when that was not the case ? Why did this doctor tell you years earlier he would only consider amputation if you were not in pain ?? That makes me nó sense and i am so angry on your behalf sweetheart as your leg was causing you a great deal of pain and discomfort 😢.
It seems like the doctor is starting from the idea that amputation is the worst case scenario and should be avoided any way possible. I think he thinks he's doing the kid a favour by telling him he doesn't need his leg amputated.
Dillon is wise beyond his years .i am happy that the amputati9n was carried out and 5hat he is walking and doing well with h8s prosthesis.i wish him with the best success.his parents are also wonderful.
Oh my goodness Dylan you are a very special boy….getting rid of your leg is not a full cure, you can see them start on your face. You are very brave❤❤❤
I loved seeing Dillon getting in the pool and enjoying swimming again. I would imagine that sense of weightlessness was very nice, since walking gave him some difficulties.
I'm a mere few minutes into the video and this boy is amazing. Dylan, you were incredibly brave to share your condition with your school mates when starting secondary school. During writing this comment I heard the story of the adults reaction to your left leg while swimming and I am disgusted. Sadly not surprised by the complete lack of respect and obvious IGNORANCE. One person's comment to this young man when he was a young child has scarred him... possibly for life. Dylan, you were and likely are, a better human than the adult who behaved in such a despicable manner.
Dillon here, I’m 22 years old now & doing much better, some challenges ahead but the amputation was completely beneficial still, this was filmed inbetween Sep 2013- Feb 2015, so I’m surprised to see it resurface again.

Awww, Dillon, you were such an awesome and mature kid. I'm so glad you finally got what you wanted.

Hope the silly witch chooses to watch this and is very proud of herself🤬🤬
He remains strong and charming in spite of weak and angry people. ❤
Awful I hope she has watched this
And she was a mother herself! I feel horrible for her children to be raised by such a disgusting, worthless human being.

What an extraordinarily clever and mature young man.
When he was first being anesthetized you could hear the fear in his voice. He mastered it so well. He is one of the bravest boys I have ever seen.
Dylan’s personality and maturity is amazing. What an awesome young man. ❤️👍
it must feel such an honor to be Dilons parent. who A beautiful young man!

This video was made around 2015. He would be a 20 year old young man by now. Wish we knew how he is going.
He has an Instagram channel which you easily find by going there and searching for Dillon Chapman. He is now 22 years old.
I’m 22 now! We began filming in 2013 until surgery Feb 2015, when I was 11. I put a comment above about how I am! :)
Well, I have just got through the first five minutes of this documentary. Dillon you ate wise beyond your years and an amazing young man.
I hope that Dillon and his parents are so happy, at peace and living their best life!

Hello Dillon.

What a lovely boy! Did anyone else notice his eyelashes? Gorgeous! With his attitude, Dylan will be running on that prosthetic leg in record time! 😊❤❤
Dillon here, I’m 22 now. But yes, the eyelashes are still a hit. Thanks for watching 🤗
Did the hospital send the amputated leg off to be dissected and studied? If so, did they learn anything from it?
I, like many others, would like an in-depth follow-up documentary on how Dillion is doing.
What an amazing young man, well spoken and confident in sharing his thoughts and feelings. . So proud of him.
I agree with this boy.. is his life.. he will have a better life with a Prosthesis.❤❤❤
Dylan you are a beautiful, caring young boy. Glad you got your amputation you wanted. All the best for the future.
Dylan, I had surgery on my knee, a total knee replacement. While it's not as severe as having a leg amputation. Bless you and hope you can realize that future you are looking for, you are blessed to have wonderful family with you. I would love to know how you have progressed .
Healing vibes for Dillon. Hopefully he is done with the large amounts of physical pain hes had to live with until now.
What a charming sweet boy, Every parents dream. ❤❤❤

What a great kid. He’s so smart and charming. I hope he gets his wish, and can begin living life with much fewer limitations.
What great parents u have ❤
He is very charming and i do think he should be able to decide what he wants. Also his hair color is absolutely beautiful
From his hair color, his big beautiful eyes, his adorable little face, intelligence, he’s going to be just fine!
What an AMAZING AWESOME kid!!!
I loved seeing Dillon getting in the pool and enjoying swimming again. I would imagine that sense of weightlessness was very nice, since walking gave him some difficulties.
I hope you are doing well Dillion; from 2024
Such a beautifull and brave boy …. ❤ I wish you all the best!!!
Dylan, you were and likely are, a better human than the adult who behaved in such a despicable manner.
this boy is brave and strong
What a sweetheart!
