Hey I'm having a massive issue, idk if its because I'm on windows 10 but I don't have the "saved" folder under pal to paste the settings into so I can edit, I could use help ASAP. Thank you
also the server doesn't open when i click on start.bat after i check for updates
so my pc is hooked up directly to a fiber optic ont via ethernet. it doesnt seem like there is anyway to port forward or change any settings at all on the ont. id im hooked directly into the ont with no router is all i need to port forward windows firewall? thanks. like and sub guys!

One note: At 2:46 you really skip over the new batch file. You might call attention to that - I know it's provided in the description link but it flashes up for half a second and you really don't say anything like "Okay hnow we're using the additional command from that link I was talking about earlier". Is there a way to set up an autosave function for this? I believe some of the server providers out there have an automatic save feature, so I'm assuming it's just a matter of making a script that enters the /save command through RCON at a set interval or something.

So if you leave the password in the config file, where do you enter the Password in the game before joining the server? there's no textbox asking me to enter in the password
passwords do not currently work for dedicated servers and are coming in an update
Im confused by you showing how to host a server if you dont own it on steam but then you use steam as the example to play. Im assuming this isnt possible to do through the xbox gamepass version?
Do my friends have to follow the same steps or should I be the only one to do so if I'm hosting the server? I keep running into the issue of having the server working but my friend who can join in has the exact same character as me, and having the same inventory as well
Do you have any tips for running servers 24/7 on windows 11? Sometimes the server.exe just crash around early morning even tho I have it running on an i7 laptop with 16gb RAM.

@TroubleChute I got the server running and my brother can join that's all though and he's on the same ethernet. I just want to know if I may be doing something wrong that other people can't join, and I did port forwarding and firewall disabled for the ports

I have the problem where if the server runs for a few hours it shuts down. According to my searches this is because of an overflow issue in the server programming. Is there a way to add timed restarts to this to avoid the issue?
Im using a skynode hosted server because I have a very wack setup for home wifi and I cant port forward. I went and edited that file that has all the info where you can change server name, night cycle times, crafting time, hunger rate etc. unfortunately after editing and applying in the skynode file explorer section thing and running the server none of those changes were ever applied. Any ideas on this? Cant figure it out.
Great tutorial, I can run my dedicated server now. However, any solutions with my Packet Loss I/O showing being 0%/1-5%. I think it's what's causing the rubberbanding.
do you know if its possible to edit the bat files later? i forgot to set up a password and randoms started to join.. when i went back to the file it kept timing me out when trying to reconect >(
Just right click the .bat file and click "edit with notepad" and just save before you close the notepad
Random question here we have a co-op world right now with four people is it possible to turn this world to a dedicated server or do we need to do the world from scratch now?
You cant, those are different servers, stay with the co-op world, dedicated server doesn't allow the auto-save function (because they are supposed to be online 24/7). However, you will be starting from scratch pretty often, so dont worry about starting from 0 again.. think this game is like RUST or every other game with WIPE mechanics, its not a MMORPG.

Can this run on a Mac? I have a spare Mac Mini Studio that should be able to run this super easily, and can leave it on 24/7 for our server so my PC doesn't have to run to versions of the game. Would be convenient to be able to do.
Also, I'm assuming the PC can never go to sleep while running the server, right? So if I did setup on PC, I would have to leave it running 24/7?

Hello, the server's world setting doesn't really working, do i need add something to the bat file?
Make sure you edit the real palworldsettings file. Located in palserver>pal>saved>config>windowsserver. The one in the root directory is just a template not the actual settings. Had me confused for quite some time too.

I started with a world that I invited my friends too but we wanna make it into a server so I don’t have to be online. Is there a way to take my game save and put it into a server
I followed all the instructions and manage to join my own server. But my friend cannot join my server because of timed out. I check and test port forwarding but still closed. I still do not know how or which step i did wrong.

I'm not sure if it's how fast you're going but I'm brutally confused, the bat file doesn't launch PalServer and its making me think im behind like 10 steps but when i rewatch it looks like i've done everything. I'm not even 3 minutes into an 11 minut tutorial.....

@@rlmast i figured it out, the bat file he's using in the video is different than the one hes using in his written tutorial. You need to use both to follow along, which sucks tbh. BUT its still a great tutorial once you figure that out.

I own the Gamepass version of the game. My game main menu only has "Start Game", "Join Multiplayer Game (Invite Code)", "Survival Guide", or "Options". I dont have Join Multiplayer Game. Does Gamepass have a different version of the game or did the game update since video came out?
