CAP | Oral History Project | Saeed Akhtar

Saeed Akhtar was interviewed by the Citizens Archive of Pakistan in 2012. During the oral history session, he went over his childhood spent in Quetta and various phases, events and meetings in life which influenced him to pursue portrait painting. A recurrent theme in the interview was him expressing his admiration for Quaid-e-Azam.
The famed portrait painter and Sitara-e-Imtiaz recipient, narrates how a chance encounter with Fatima Jinnah served as an impetus for him to finally move to Lahore and join National College of Arts as a student.
