There really needs to be a way to get from Panoraimo/NLR47 to Chainsaw Ridge as an alternative uphill route. There is a "hiking" trail called Te'tuxw'tun Trail which gets you from NLR47 to Mt. Benson summit, but not sure if its possible to hike a bike it and or ride some of it. I'm really surprised there isnt a continuation of the logging roads on the Westwood Lake side right up to the summit. It would really change the accessability to ride this one, as one could park at Westwood, get up there and ride it, and get over to Pink Unicorn/Westwood trails to get back to their car. I'm only curious about that possibility as I live right at Westwood and am not a fan of the South Benson parking area, its always beyond packed along the road and people drive it doing 100kmh. It needs an actual parking lot. Cool ride, the battery must have really helped to get up there, but then also made the decent extra sketchy due to added weight, good job not dying lol. I want to ride this, but I only have a hardtail and have found some of the other South Benson trails too bouncy when combined with the speed of downhill, such as Flanders. I enjoyed all of Gate keeper, but Flanders was just plain extra buzzy, resulted in numb hands. I imagine lower tire pressure and tubeless might help though, I'm a diehard tube and hardtail fan, its just a big BMX to me.
Hey thanks for watching. We went up the "wrong way which is over to the right near the down hill trail. Crazy tough ride up, like going up a riverbed full of boulders! I'm heading back tomorrow morning with a different friend and we will climb up the climb trail and take the main logging road up. It should be easier, I hope :). It's such a great trail. I wouldn't want to do it without my ebike. I'm used to down hilling on the heavy bike, I've ridden almost 5000 KMs in the 14 months I've had the bike. Keep on rocking the hard tail, no way my old body could take it! Cheers
